It's finally happening, folks...
| |
I think I might like both songs just as much if not more than most of lowborn. Excited to hear the other three songs, and I hope a full length is in the works, or a second EP.
| |
It may be one of those things where all the songs from the EP end up on an LP down the road. Not sure yet.
I'll say that both of the songs released from this so far are among the best songs I've heard from them, especially post-Cities. I'm very pleased with how sharp they sound coming off of their lengthy hiatus.

| |
EP!?!?!?!?! hype omg
| |
2022 is actually an insane year. The big name releases, the surprise comebacks... every top 50 list is gonna be wrong lol
| |
Didnt they call it quit years ago?
| |
They did in 2014, yeah. Seems like they felt the need to come back for whatever reason, but I'm not complaining. They were always one of my favorite bands. Seems like they gained some edge/grit during their hiatus, so the break seems to have done them a world of good.
| |
I'm not complaining either. Looks like quarantine time helped a lot of bands getting back together, with all the time and the boredom. Hyped!
| |
Seems like the production team that worked on the newest Underoath album worked on this, so the edge/grit Sowing is referring to makes sense.
| |
Band finally announced it officially. I added the link to the vinyl pre-orders in the news article.
| |
these two songs are actually so good - excited to hear the rest of this EP!
| |
BTA and Anberlin both coming back in the same year? Be still my heart.
| |
Oh my god dfhvcuombds
| |
Equal Vision picking up Anberlin and Silent Drive what is this???
Not in love with either of the songs yet. But I'm interested to see what else they'll do with this new sound. And definitely hyped.
| |
Circles is phenom I love it. Hope the whole EP is great
| |
god this makes me so happy
| |
Circles' riff feels kinda like Gojira's Flying Whales. Great track overall. I love myself some heavy Anberlin.
| |
I leaning towards liking it, but I'm undecided on if like the cacophony of the chanting children, the sax, Christian's vocals, and all the other layering going on. Maybe it's my phone.
| |
"I'll say that both of the songs released from this so far are among the best songs I've heard from them, especially post-Cities."
Idk. Vital and Lowborn had some strong stuff on them.
| |
I didn't care much for Lowborn as their final album. But these 2 are about on par with the stuff on Vital.
| |
I like "We Are Destroyer," "Stranger Ways," and "Atonement" a lot on Lowborn. Yeah, these probably, when properly digested, are of very strong caliber for Anberlin. They're certainly interesting. I just think there isn't the dearth of high quality work since Cities that Sowing's comment implies. Vital slaps, and it might be, in matters of production, their most gorgeous-sounding record.
| |
This band is what post-breakup Thrice wished they could be
| |
Circles is really good
| |
Two Graves might be my favorite hard-hitting Anberlin song ever. Give me more of that sound baby
| |
let's fucking go dude
