I really, really wish they'd work things out with Parsons as well. I'd argue that he is equal to Key in terms of this band's core identity. With that said, I don't know what happened behind the scenes. Perhaps there's a good reason.

@Sowing - Agreed, I consider him one of 3 pop punk drummers who stand above the rest, the other two being Travis Barker and Zac Farro. Having said that, maybe Parsons wanted to be in a more low-key(ha!) band as opposed to a more famous one. Not unlike John Frusciante’s sentiments after the end of BSSM.

I hope it was that amicable. Everything I've read (which isn't to say it can be believed) states that the damage between them is unmendable. Something must've gone down, but every single member of the band including Longineu has been tight-lipped about it.

They had me going with the band member countdown, but I truly think that if they didn't invite him along for their final tour in 2016 and if they still haven't made amends 7 years later, that it is very unlikely to ever happen.

I'd make a wise ass comment like "they should just use AI to emulate LPIII drumming", but Nate is still an above average drummer and it seems like Yellowcard figured out on their self-titled album that the answer to no Parsons is more Mendez, so hopefully they've continued to adapt their sound.

I wouldn't exactly say they're not known for features though; Southern Air had Tay Jardine and Cassadee Pope (among other instrumentalists and Patrick Stump co-wrote a song), L&S had Natalie Maines, Lift a Sail had the dude from Memphis May Fire, and Ocean Ave had some really great female backing vox that I either can't remember who they are or maybe they're uncredited.

But yeah, that's career-spanning, so 2 features in 5 tracks is still a hefty ratio.

Agreed. I love pure YC with no outside influence even if they do pull off features quite well.

Their whole image of being grateful for their fans seems a bit ridiculous when this is their third comeback tour.

I get roasting them for the fake retirement (their first break was just a three year hiatus), but I'm not sure why that implies a lack of appreciation for their fanbase.

I've never heard any of their music beyond the song "Ocean Avenue." The hype surrounding this might get me to listen to some of their discog.

In defense of Yellowcards short breakup, Ryan Key was pretty open in an interview that he didn't want the band to breakup personally.

I am not sure why they are branding this as a comeback right now regardless. I saw them last september when they actually came back.

I don't know that they actually are, that's just how I phrased the article because it's their first new music after "breaking up" for 7 years.
