Bring Me The Horizon and their consequences cannot be understated. The kiddie choir is stupid. The chorus is bad. Really stupid song to experiment with low growls on. This band used to have riffs, man. Fuck.
|
| |
heavy for the sake of sounding heavy doesn't produce quality. Ironic song or not, making a good song would have been a better clapback at the "haters". But I guess this stuff sells more ¯_(ツ)_/¯
|
| |
blegh

poo chedda
|
| |
This shit is ASS
|
| |
this is fucking terrible. Are there records by this band that are legit worth checking out?
I don’t think I’ve heard anything but singles and it’s shit that’s just as bad as whatever the hell Asking Alexandria is doing. That’s how ass this is.
|
| |
everything before their 2016 album is great, then they got egregiously boring, then turned into complete ass
|
| |
this be a warm glass of booty juice
|
| |
Wildcard, their first 3, otherwise no not really
|
| |
He finally brings out the lows on record and it's on a trash song. Figures.
|
| |
@Wildcard - the mathy elements of Hollow Crown, Ruin, and Nightmares were influential to later bands in metalcore. Those are my personal favorite from them.
|
| |
Everything before Holy Hell is at least worth a listen. They used to change things up quite a bit from album to album
|
| |
Let the scene money flow, lads.
They've got no artistic integrity left and now they're insecure about it lol
|
| |
morty i just finished reading nietzsche *blegh*
|
| |
Truly incredible how metalcore bands unanimously dredge the annoying once they've become uninspired and hackneyed
|
| |
Do I really have to listen to this to understand what you guys are talking about? Their last album was too big a waste of time for me to click on this. Is there a "too long; didn't listen"?
|
| |
Oh my word these lyrics.
This is an artform lmao
Release a new album now I got this

This is like three days grace bad. What the fuck happened to this band?
|
| |
I dig it 🤷🏻♂️

not even gonna bother
|
| |
how does anyone actually like these cleans? so overproduced and he genuinely sounds like actual dogshit. Those lyrics, the awful kid gang vocals, etc. I could go on but this band has become a giant joke for years now.
|
| |
"He finally brings out the lows on record and it's on a trash song."
That's the worst part of it all. The lows genuinely sound good, we even got a god damn BLEGH, and it's for this diss track of a song.
|
| |
“youtube reaction channel metal m/“ [2]
the reaction guy in the blegh hat is gonna go crazy for this one
|

I’m just here to watch Mars’ trigger trip

man christmas surely came early for Nik Nocturnal and his legion

“this be a warm glass of booty juice” [2]
|

It’s hilarious how this band is always 5 years behind BMTH, eating the popular slop. They’re literally doing what Amo did, lashing back at their fans, using That’s the Spirit’s sound. Difference is, BMTH back it up with a decent album. This song is complete trash.
|
| |
They're shitting out songs very rapidly
|
| |
To be fair, Bring Me the Horizon ripped off Architects first.
|
| |
lol swear to god i made my previous comment before actually checking his twitter

Architects basically just released a "how to metalcore in 4 minutes" and it's an absolute banger
|
| |
lmao it really sounds like they were butthurt at the last album response and they did this song to bring back the old fans, "hey guys we put a blegh and some low screams, see???"
except song is complete shite
|
| |
youtube reaction channel metal m/ [3]
Mediocre Metalcore song. The children choir is the only thing that really bothers me. Was never a fan and will never be a fan so I don't care about the lyrics.
|
| |
It's not that bad but kinda boring and the lyrics are terrible.
Used to really love this band and it's hard to watch them become a shadow of their former self when they used to be SO influential to the metalcore space as a whole.
That said - one thing Sam Carter has got completely right, is that it is fucking disgusting how people keep bringing up the death of Tom when they release something new (see "Tom Searle is rolling in his grave" comment above). People who do this are trash humans and should get in the bin.
|
| |
lmao
|
| |
Grow up, Tom is dead and song is ass.
|
| |
Yea, they're not exactly great at this style of music imo
|
| |
Agreed Krill. I love this band but this just infuriating, fuck the chanting/cheering, fuck this petty song
The band has every right to change direction and do whatever they want. If they want to change their sound and follow trends, it may be easier financially for them due to losing an important part of their song writing crew. Whats fucking stupid is that they arent even making decent popcorn core or music. The band has the chops still to do things that arent this lazy shit.
People bitch about Architects, Parkway not being heavy anymore? I think most people would agree that the change of sound isnt the problem. Its the lazy uninteresting way both bands have gone about it. Both bands have capable musicians, both bands have shown they can write lyrics that arent liquid arse. If you change your sound make sure you can still be interesting
|
| |
Hit the nail on the head Ectier, it's the whole "we've matured as a band" schtick, then proceed to release the most uninspired shit ever. You can mature and not become boring, it is possible.
|
| |
We’re like one big family
Gee thanks so much for the death threat
Do you hear the audacity?
You dummies only live on the internet
that combined with the lows, I just can't
|
| |
this reminds me of the song DGD just dropped
|
| |
Im writing a list/write up thing about bands changing sound
|
| |
The lows represent the new lows they reached with their music
True art
|
| |
"lmao it really sounds like they were butthurt at the last album response and they did this song to bring back the old fans, "hey guys we put a blegh and some low screams, see???""
the song is a petulant response to the detractors of said albums. it's done ironically, which is fine if you can back it up, but this track is almost offensively bad.
|
| |
Song is dull and uninspired and the lyrics are absolute trash.
Agreed 100% with the "youtube reaction metal" comments, this kind of stuff is just designed to be eaten up by people like Nik Nokturnal, it's so surface level. Metalcore really is in dire straits when half the new stuff I hear just sounds like something for youtube reaction channels to do stank faces at, rather than, you know, an interesting sounding song.
|
| |
This the same band that made Colony Collapse?
|
| |
One could say THIS IS FULL RELAPSE, right?
Dear, oh dear. What a sorry state we're in
|
| |
I mean it's nothing crazy but it's fine
|
| |
I've seen Red before
|
| |
this has to be the biggest fall off of any band of the last 10 years
i cant remember a british band going from awesome to the toilet this hard since Muse
|
| |
I wrote a whole fucking thing about bands changing their sound and the site fucked out
|
| |
These guys are more than welcome to change direction.
Fans are more than welcome to say said direction is shite.
Fee like we've crossed that bridge enough to understand the distinction.
|
| |
"this has to be the biggest fall off of any band of the last 10 years"
May i introduce you to Parkway drives Darker still?
Or would you like A day to remembers Your Welcome ?
This is shite, their new direction is shite because its lazy but it hasnt quite hit the level of liquid shit that was Darker still and Your welcome

It's very precisely giving some "fully tatooed alpha chad training every muscle but his dick in a gym and showing it off in an instagram reel" energy.
|
| |
^ you can see the reel when Sam is looking at the camera during the breakdown
|
| |
This is fkin insaneee!!! This is like a bunch of all my favorite things in one song. The heavy chugging riffs and pre-'holy hell' kinda screams on the verses, the melodic 'classic symptomps' kinda chorus, the blegh, the growls, the gojira
|
| |
It’s a fine enough song musically (so long as you don’t think too hard and ignore the chanting), but lyrically, it’s unlistenable
|
| |
Band peaked with Hollow Crown.
|
| |
"i cant remember a british band going from awesome to the toilet this hard since Muse"
While She Sleeps seem to be competing with Architects for that title at the moment, and I'd argue that Bullet for my Valentine set the template for British metalcore bands to go from pretty good to utter dogshit.
|
| |
At least BFMV managed to course correct somewhat with their self-titled
|
| |
Although, come to think of it, that might just be a me opinion, knowing my taste in music lol
|
| |
meh.
another post-hardcore alumni tried to dig their own grave since attack attack! and BMTH.
hillarious
|
| |
I do hate when people make the "X dead guy in band rolling in their grave" comments, shut up.
I hate how boring this band has become though. I actually really enjoyed Holy Hell and then they proceeded to fall off a cliff and make Linkin Park core. I schleep.
|
| |
trash
|
| |
this isn't just lame anymore.
|
| |
Incredibad
|
| |
I've never said anything negative about them. but honestly where is the hecking "new direction", the last three albums have been completely different, there is simply no direction
|

Is this worth listening to for the luls even or should I just not even bother
|
| |
This is music for ppl who look like this: https://shoutoutla.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/c-PersonalCaseySabol__CASEYPERSONAL_1636243601497.jpg
|
| |
The most insecure band in metalcore history.
|
| |
The funny thing is this band has been Identity crisis the band ever since they started
|
| |
Some people out here still mad they don't sound like Dillinger anymore smh
|
| |
Also their first "Lets chase the trend" album The here and Now the band hates and vowed theyd never do it again....that aged well
|
| |
lol this band
|
| |
youtube comments for these types of genericore bands always make me want a new plague like Dwight does.
|
| |
The band needs to own it instead of releasing an even worse one to counter the fans bitching.
|
| |
“Is this worth listening to for the luls even or should I just not even bother”
Should def do it for the lulz. Its an experience
|
| |
don't know why so many immediately hate this, this is leagues ahead of their last 2 albums
|
| |
Sure, it’s leagues ahead of Broken Spirit, but I’d put it at the same level as FTTWTE. And that’s still a far cry from the band’s output prior to For Those
|
| |
IDK I didnt really finish it. Lows are cool, and the BLEH is back, but the rest of the song is soooooo uninspired.
|
| |
...
|
| |
"don't know why so many immediately hate this, this is leagues ahead of their last 2 albums"
cuz it's like comparing shit to poop
|
| |
Lyrics are so bad it's almost funny
|
| |
Lame as fuck
|
| |
Just uninventive
|
| |
Bands saying they have matured don't actually mature, they'll get worse
|
| |
"cuz it's like comparing shit to poop"
haha he called the shit poop
|
| |
No way these lyrics are serious. Holy shit.
|
| |
Rent free living in your head
RIP they commented
|
| |
Clever move from them, after their last lacklustre album this will make their hardcore fans and breakdown bros happy, and it sparks a conversation even amongst those that would just ignore "another" single from Architects.
They have certainly got a lot of attention, and that's the only aim of this song, so well played, Architects.
Song is just bland.
|
| |
Oof, that's rough. Imagine having to promote this and play it night in night out and pretend to give a shit.
|
| |
Make it heavy. Make it cliche metalcore. Make the lyrics so painfully straightforward every outlet that writes/reacts/reviews metal music will talk about it and promote it. And whoa! Will you look at that? Architects are doing a world tour the same day they made a song the metal community is talking about!?! The song is a straight-up PR move for their world tour.
It's not that good but honestly, it'll be fun for them to play live, and maybe for them, it was something just dumb fun and cathartic to write. I'll hope the album is better but man, they gotta address the lyrical drop-off they seem to be experiencing.
|
| |
this is so corny
|
| |
Yeah for being so far into their career they sure are insecure about the music they make
|
| |
didn't expect this to be heavy, chorus is super average
|
| |
Like someone said above It seems to be something to boost engagement for the algorithms
|
| |
Double post
|
| |
Double post
|
| |
At least this chorus develops over 4 bars instead of using 3 or 4 note repetitive patterns, like on the last two albums. So there is imrpovement. They still end the chorus into the heavy riff with exactly the same trope though, "tell me what I belieeeeeeeeve"
|
| |
Wow this is really insincere. Basically "hey haterz we're still like totally heavy and tuff you just couldn't handle our more mature stuff" even tho this is kitten's play compared to Early Grave or Follow the Water lol
Also choirs do not belong in metalcore, stop trying to be BMTH for fucks sake bands
|
| |
“Clever move from them, after their last lacklustre album this will make their hardcore fans and breakdown bros happy, and it sparks a conversation even amongst those that would just ignore "another" single from Architects”
This does not make us happy
|
| |
The only thing im happy about is he recorded his lows for once, other than that its just a depressing tailspin.
|
| |
Just gonna pretend this was an ironic meme and it makes the song sound better lol
Not gonna lie it's cool to hear Sam's lows but why waste them on this
|
| |
Also has every member of the band just given up writing anything remotely interestinf though. Are they all happy writing this????
|
| |
I think they’re happy to be big and make more money, but they aren’t happy they aren’t universally loved and have alienated the OGs. Rock and a hard place if you will
|
| |
oh it has almost half a million views in 1 day.
|
| |
This is what happens when the guy who wrote most of the music and lyrics dies and the rest suck at both of those things. 🤷
|
| |
Dan at the very least is a very talented drummer
|
| |
wonder if they have the self awareness to feel a bit guilty lol
|
| |
"heavy for the sake of sounding heavy doesn't produce quality. Ironic song or not, making a good song would have been a better clapback at the "haters". But I guess this stuff sells more ¯_(ツ)_/¯"
The title is "seeing red", did you expect a slow song? ¯_(ツ)_/¯
|
| |
Did they consult the Loefflers?
|
| |
God I hate coreshit. The cleans are so bad here. The cheerleader chorus is so played out and lame. These guys are gonna be hits at DWP festivals, though.
|
| |
"Did they consult the Loefflers?"
lmfao
Man Chevelle is so much better than whatever the fuck these guys are doing now. What a world.
|
| |
I really miss Tom's lead guitar parts. Sam using his lows more is awesome though. I don't mind the style change. Tom's gone and things just can't be the same. But the last album really suffered from the quality if the vocal hooks. This one is okay but good lord, do I miss Architects choruses on the level of The Empty Hourglass and Gone With the Wind.
|
| |
"The title is "seeing red", did you expect a slow song? ¯_(ツ)_/¯"
You missed my point. I miss the "heavier" architects as much as the next person, but the chugs and breakdowns here are generic and uninspired
|
| |
ya know say you what will about nu-metal, it has some character to it. This just feels... very bland.
|
| |
Modern metalcore is copy/paste, literally in the studio sometimes. Its smart to move away from it because the genre is a dead man walking. However I want the tunes and sounds to back up the talk. If they believed in themselves they wouldn't care what the critics have to say. In interviews they spend half the time talking about haters, or being very defensive about songs we should like if only we were smart enough. Theyre just as hurt and angry as they say their fans are.
|
| |
"You missed my point. I miss the "heavier" architects as much as the next person, but the chugs and breakdowns here are generic and uninspired"
Yeah I did miss your point, makes more sense now! Agreed!
|
| |
it's basically a late-BMTH song
|
| |
In bad
|
| |
