June Hip Hop Release Calendar

2009-05-30 by kingsoby1 EMERITUS | 22 Comments
With a fairly disappointing May lineup of high profile releases, the first true month of summer (in America anyway) offers some promising "comeback" material. Plenty of potential here to find that perfect disc for the season - roll down the windows, turn up the bass, and try to avoid a cruising ticket (if that happens in your state).

The fledgling hip-hop forum is still thriving; so again, join us at http://www.sputnikmusic.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=133

i think im actually scheduled to review more non-hip-hop this month than the albums i called. i have 2 underground and 1 major label in my backlog that i definitely need to get out, but besides that i've only dibbed Marco Polo & Torae and dead prez.

Had no idea about a new Wu-Tang album. And a new U-God album? Never saw that coming.

Juicy J's will probably be the worst hip-hop album of 09... Nevermind, I forgot about Soulja Boy.

jay stay paid is solid so far. dillanthology is stuff that already exists in a convenient compilation.

i'm not really expecting anything out of mos def or wu tang. mos's last record was only okay.

yeah Wu-Tang will more than likely be a miss, but I'd really like to hear some new Mos Def material that is actually good (which is mostly because I've been listening to Black On Both Side and Black Star a ton lately).

yeah i mean it could be good... he's only one average album removed from black on both sides (true magic). even then, there were some really tight tracks on that joint, just was too inconsistent.
