After first listen jury's out for me right now. I find it interesting that they had Cantrell do the majority of the vocals. Need to give it a couple more listens before I can form an opinion.

really really good.
| |
Quite good, wasn't expecting that.
| |
How is this really good? Sounds like classic Alice in Chains, Cantrell has WON.
| |
Doesn't sound unlike classic AIC, so I'm really looking forward to this. DuVall isn't hlaf-bad vocally (in fact he's pretty damn good) and Cantrell does great work in this song too. I hope this is a good song to judge the album by
| |
Ill have this in about 20 min.
| |
This news article needs to be cleaned up.
I think I will just stick with Dirt.
| |
Good song, but I would've liked to hear more of their new singer though
| |
Song is money.
| |
That was a great song, now i'm really excited. Its still gonna be a while to
| |
I wonder how long it will be before NedSnurb comes along and claims how this isn't innovative enough for him?
| |
Good song. reminds me of jerry cantrells solo stuff too much though
| |
wow, much better than i was expecting. basically sounds like a heavier version of the old stuff
| |
pretty good.
| |
Great song, sounds true to their original sound, but also fresh. I would like to hear a bit more of DuVall though.
| |
I'm sure he will be more involved on other songs. I don't think people realize just how much singing Jerry Cantrell did on their songs.
| |
Not too thrilled. A bit boring.
| |
ye srsly needs moar guitar wanking
| |
Yeah I'm really liking this now. Sorry for the sloppy article I was really trying to get this out into the public as quick as humanly possible.
| |
"ye srsly needs moar guitar wanking"
Ya your right, could have used some arpeggios and maybe some squealies. A good five minute Herman Li guest appearance would have rounded it out. Then Nebsnurb can get his innovation.
| |
Thanks for posting it, romgsom, now I have a clearer picture of what to expect.
That's right BullittMan nobody could possibly deny AIC's innovative nature then
| |
great song, really excited for this now
| |
So excited for the album. Song was great.
| |
The track is suprisingly good, but it wouldve been much better with Layne than having a nu-metal sounding James LaBrie singing. A little too repetitive as well.
| |
" but it wouldve been much better with Layne than having a nu-metal sounding James LaBrie singing. A little too repetitive as well"
Cannot see the connection with LaBrie.... but the song is pretty neat though... you`ll should chk out cantrell's degradation trip... just to keep company till this comes out :]
| |
Well Cantrell and co. seem like they haven't forgotten their sound, though I can't really say I'm totally impressed by this. Song's a bit above average, and I think I'm coming to the realization that this incarnation isn't going to be nearly the same without Layne
| |
I think judging by this song alone its not really fair to say it isn't going to be nearly the same. I mean, if Layne was still around they could have wrote this song and nobody would have thought they were changing at all. I think this song screams classic alice in chains, and im very happy with the way they are doing things so far.
| |
the production really helps, the riff was sick, but it just gets repetetive. they should trim at least 2 minutes off.
| |
it was decent, but too long for its own good
| |
The new song is ace, only people who don't like it are dumbasses still begging for Layne to rise from the dead.
| |
The new song is like a Nuclear implosion to the face... but in a good way. A very, very good way.
| |
Video debuted on their website yesterday, kicks a fair bit of ass.
| |
feels kinda overproduced, which bugs me immensely
