A Circle Of Crows stream debut

2019-12-20 by Panzerchrist | 7 Comments
South Bend, IN based black & death metal act A Circle Of Crows are streaming their debut demo (via bandcamp), which released concurrently on December 20th. Broadly a concept piece based around the exploits of the fictional, celestial shadow group 'The Circle Of Crows', the initial project details their relationship with a duo of characters known only as "The King" and "The Heir".

The project features sputnik skeptic Panzerchrist, as well as tech death drummer wunderkind Marco Pitruzzella (Vornagar, Anomolous, Brain Drill, 6 million other bands I cannot possibly remember).

Based on the band picture, it's only a matter of time before one of the fatties eats the skinny guy

The link does not lead to bandcamp, but to a Sputnik non-existent page

I love the riffs on this! Wish the drums were louder overall (kick up a tad, snare much louder, crash cymbals down a tad a certain parts, ride and hats up a bit), and the vox turned down just a tad. Throughout the demo the mixing is a little unbalanced between songs, but whatever. That being said, it's a demo, so i'm just here to enjoy the tunes, and dude, y'all killed it. Some of the vox here are so nasty in the best way possible. Songs are pretty dynamic too. Dug that section on The Tides of Man where it's all slow jam with silky leads into that breakout big ending which was really great, and holy heck man outstanding solo work too, very impressive. Excited for this project to really take off

Oh man I really appreciate your feedback, dude. We worked really hard on everything (the mixing on Maggots Dance drove me fucking nuts), and I'm glad you enjoyed the results. I will work on my mixing, for sure. This was a pretty big first project for me but I've learned an immense amount about how to level everything.

Honestly everyone in the band learned a lot. We'll start working on a new EP here in the spring and that'll benefit from a much more focused songwriting process. I can't wait.
