Jack Johnson is played on the radio sometimes when i turn it on and im glad more and more people have listened to and bought his Cd. This cd is a very mellow and chill out type of music, sorta reminds me of dispatch and dave matthews band. I must say he has one of the most soothing and calming singing voices i have ever heard in my life. His other Album Brushfire Fairytales is a real cool cd but i think On and On is one of those cds that doesnt have a single song that i can find unlikeable or to skip. Its a cd that you can listen to from start to finish. Heres my review...

1. Times like these - A very appropiate song to start the album. Jack sings about whats going on in the world. The guitar playing is real cool with good rythym and beat. The flow of the song assures some good music to come on the rest of the album as its catchy and good singing goes on and on. :)
5/5

2. The Horizon has been Defeated - Real cool bass riff to start it out with. The sound effects are chill and i hope by now. Chorus is real nice and the song gives meaning if you listen to the lyrics carefully. It is a song that is played on the radio quite often. 4.5/5

3. Traffic in the Sky - The guitar riff is very enchanting and the lyrics are fun to sing with. This song is just another good song by Jack. 4/5

4. Taylor - Ok im sure you have heard this on the radio and i hope you enjoy this song as much as i do. The guitar intro is just amazing as it fits in well with the rythm of the song. The lyrics are interesting and the fast beat of the song keeps your foot tapping. 5/5

5. Gone - Interesting beat and good lyrics. The chorus is interesting and a bit confusing. But overall its a good song. 4/5

6. Cupid - Ok this song is sorta of a intermission as i feel it is. The song is only 1:05 sec longs and its jack singing to his girl. :) But it fits well as it mixes intro one of my fave jack johnson songs. 3.5/5

7. Wasting time - Real good bass playing again with good electric guitar playing. A very bluesy sound to it. The best part of the song is the lyrics and solo. The solo is very fun to play on guitar and catchy. The lyrics are quite clear and the chorus singing is good. 5/5

8. Holes to Heaven - The guitar is played palm muted giving off an interesting beat and the chorus is good but the lyrics kinda got me lost. Overall the song is sorta hip hop and has good beat. 3.5/5

9. Dreams be Dreams - Another cool intro and fun beat. Very mellow song but good. 4/5

10. Tommorow Morning - Starts with jacks voice a lil in the background and then jumps to a good beat. Again the bass is real cool and singing is perfectly tuned to the rythym. The guitar bridge/solo is real cool played halfway in the song. The rest of the song is fun to sing to. 4/5

11. Fall Line - This song has powerful and good lyrics. A very fast pace song and very short. 4/5

12. Cookie Jar - One of the best songs hes done, its about the world, life and the problems we are having in america. Real cool beat and good guitar playing. The rythym is awesome as he sings the song so well and in a good tone. This song has good depth and good meaning to it. 5/5

13. Rodeo Clowns - My 2nd fav jack johnson song. Intro has great melody acoustic playing. Song is very fast paced and the lyrics are great. This song reminds me sort of a spanish type of song from its good beat and fast pace. Great song. 5/5

14. Cocoon - My fav jack johnson song as it is the most chill and emotional song he has done. The acoustic guitar is sooo sweet and if u play guitar u want to learn this. Very soothing and calm song and i love the lyrics. 5/5

15. Mediocre Bad Guys - Interesting lyrics and catchy beat. The electric guitar slide gives a real cool sound effect. The chorus is very good and has that blues sound to it. Another good song by Jack and his crew :). 5/5

16. Symbol In my Driveway - The closing song starts with the sound of the ocean and people talking in the background with a good beat. I like this song and it fits well for the last song to end with. The lyrics are a lil confusing but it ends this incredible cd so well. 4/5

4.8/5 Overall grade as it is just one of those cds that you can add to your favorites if you love music. I highly recommend buying this CD as it is very well worth the money and if its not your type of music, maybe you should try it out and hopefully youll respect it as much as i do. If you like Jack Johnsons music i recommend you listen to a group called Dispatch since they are very good singers and great musicians as of jack johnson. I hope my review helped and you enjoy this cd too. :)

It's good, but it's no 'Brushfire Fairytales'.

Jack does have his moments I must say. This alum however didn't really strike me. He can write some nice music, though I thought it was rather bland and dry. However I think that his career will prove quite successful. A pretty good effort.

So so so boring... We'll forget about him in a year. I'll probably forget about him tomorrow.

I encourage everyone who thought this was boring to listen again - I was initially dissapointed, but this is the type of album that takes awhile to sink in.
