None So Live is the first cryptopsy live cd. It's packed with an amazing performance recorded live at the Medley in Montreal.
Lineup:
Martin Lacroix - Vocals
Alex Auburn - Guitar
Jon Levasseur - Guitar
Eric Langlois - Bass
Flo Mounier - Drum
Anyone who seen a cryptopsy show will tell you that they are a great band, a bunch of incerdible musicians, and that they do really insane shows! For those of you that never seen cryptopsy live, don't wait and buy "none so live". The album sounds as good as a studio album and it's the only CD featuring vocalist Martin Lacroix.
Highlights:
"We Bleed" Sounds very brutal, better, faster than on the studio version
"open Face Surgery" A lot of energy, and great solo. By the way, here's the translation of the french talking before this song : Hello Montreal! We're glad to be back! After a really long trip... It's been a while since we played the next song live... From the first album... OPEN FACE SURGERY!
"Phobophile" The same piano intro, bassline... and they play that song fast... really fast! So fast that Martin LAcroix sometimes has problems to follow the rest of the band... Great song live
"drum solo" Even if this solo cut Graves of the fathers in the middle, Flo Mounier will surprise you! Fast, innovative... Great showcase for him!
On the other hand, the only thing that stops me from giving this album a perfect score is the mix. Don't get me wrong, it's a great mix. It sounds almost like a studio mix! But you barely hear the bass! expecially on slit your guts, the great bass solo isn't loud enough!
I recommend this cd to any of you who didn't see Cryptopsy live. Put it in your sound system, raise the volume, and feel the energy!!!!!!! Obviously, it's a must have for all the fans.
P.S. This is my first review, any comments are more than welcome!
