Review Summary: Are You Kiding Me, This Is The Biggest Waste Of Money

OK!!!! I just cant take it anymore! This singer is a studio singer (meaning hes bad live), the drums sound like i listening to a emo version of Travis Barker. The guitar work was ok, you cant hear the bass most of the time through out the CD. Now I wanted to like this band i really did i listened to the cd 3 times and i listening to it as i write this review and i just gets worse. So here is my track by track review... (to find the best use of this review listen to the songs and read the review)

The Webs The Weave- Starts out with a Travis Barker drum intro and then goes into a decent riff. Ok well the singing is not there though out the song (or the cd for that matter so this take part for the rest of the cd) its like hes singing then it mushes into scream it just dont clash well with his voice. Best way to describe this is to take James Hetfield from Metallica. You know everytime Hetfield ends a sentance he ends it with a "NAUH" well Ronnie Radke does this but when he does it... well lets not go there... you can find that out yourself when you listen to this song. The lyrical sceem throughout the song didnt not impress me at all. "Oh the webs you weave, We are caught in the fame, the passion's dead, the life you've lead, has drown in your shame" now its the webs he weaves "oh the webs I weave, I am caught in this game, my passions dead, the life I've lead, has drowned me in vain. (1)

Situations- First off the it sounds like he got the lryics from a Nickleback song that didnt even make the cut for them... Again he does the "NAUH" thing. I would expect more out of the first single that has a music vid than is. Thats all i have to say about this song. (1)

There's No Sympathy For The Dead- Ok now this cought me off guard... the opening started out with a pretty cool riff... through out the first verse the guitar has a cool riff/solo piece. The Pre-Chours is good it show you that the singer can do more than squeak his voice and good "NAUH"... he can scream i mean he can scream and growl. The chorus is catchy. The solo isn't half bad, show that the guitarist has some potential to play his instrument. The drums sound better in this song. The verses pretty much pound in this song and leave you with a chorus line your going to be singing until you go to bed later on that night. (3)

When I Go Out, I Want To Go Out On A Chariot Of Fire- NOPE!!! Ruined the vibe i was getting. Lost it. Drums sound like the first song and lyrics just COMPLETELY SUCK!!! come on for real. "your the only one that wore your seatbelt" cant listen to anymore on with the next song... (the rating bar cant go low enough)

The Guillotine- WOW!!! caught me off guard again. The vocals start the song. The opening lyrics is "so lock and load mercenaries, I see the smoke from the hilltop, they march one by one. The verse makes you just sit uprite in your seat and just listen to all this song has to offer you right now. The Pre-Chorus is the guitarist taping and doing hammer ons just sounds cool to me. The Chorus is kick ass. The lryics "we stay here tonight, promise me you won't leave my side, and when the sun comes up we fight, so promise me you won't leave my side" just sounds cool. The solo is Tits. (3.5)

Reverse This Curse- F**k this band they get me all pumped up and efin ruin it. The song lryics suck terribly its like im listening to a cheap love song with a squeaky singer. NO!!! no more next song... (.5)

so really the cd dont get better it just gets wores...

Cellar Door- the song starts out with a linkin park drum beat and have a tecno vibe to it.... you can tell they were listenin to linkin park when they made this song... the lryics are weak and not original. Just another emo love song basicaly (come back to me or i will cut myself again) next song... (1)

My Apocalypse- Can you say Simple Plan with screaming. Not original at all. The guitar work is depressing and the drums again are just lame. I really do think his idole is Travis Barker. Blink 182 beats are what make up the song really and Simple Plan guitar work. (1)

Friends And Alibis- Can you say annoying. Damn. The songs are getting repetitive. They are all sounding the same. But i got a red jumpsuit apparatus vibe in this song lol jk. (1)

Not Good Enough For Truth In Cliche'- This makes no sense at all, "sitting in this room playing russian rulet, finger on the triger to my dear Juliet" sounds like he need something to ryme with rulet. this song it just lame all around. No one like forced rymes. Thats just bad song writing and the vocals are just horrific along with the guitar. (1)

The Day I Left The Womb- The song is a accustic song. Accustic songs are supposed to be mello and not like you truely rockin out... you supposed to be able to relax to them to want to wish you were dimebag darel. the song just plain sucks all around in all areas. (1)

Thats my track by track review though it was painful to sit here and listen to each song from begining to end i did it for you... hope this helped you out

Pro's-- The song structure was good, The guitar work wasn't all that bad
____

Con's-- Anything in the Pro's, to many to list

Great, an A7X fan complaining about a bad singer and bad lyrics.

I know. Catchy album is catchy. Not Good Enough For Truth In Cliche, Guillotine, and Reverse This Curse rule. Pretty shitty review tbh. Rambling first paragraph, Travis Barker name dropping, and complaining about the lyrics FTL.

This really isn't a bad album.

Musically it's fairly decent with the guitarists going beyond the normal yawn-inducing power chord/octave chord dribble that's every screamo band. Vocally though it's not-so-great, but then again I don't know any screamo bands with decent vocals.

And try not to be too hard on the guy. No one really has a great first review after all. For future reference, try to avoid track by track reviews, and maybe look at some of the staff reviews as a reference point for how your to write your next ones. This Message Edited On 03.09.09

I didn't know that guitarists were so illiterate.

A7Xeric, this isn't screamo... this is crappy commercial pop-punk.

Screamo is like Orchid or Envy.
