Review Summary: A great emotionally driven CD filled with enough atmosphere to get lost in. You probably have not heard of Consider the Thief but now that you have go listen.

okay so let me start off by saying this band is way to unheard of and a band that actually has talent these days is in need of recognizing. Consider the Thief's former sound was screamo but they were still top of the line in that sound category. They decided to do a complete 180 for this album by going for a more atmospheric epic type of sound. The sound change pays off big but leads to the albums only real downfall, that it gets a bit boring at very few times. But again this is not very often and is a minor complaint for the quality that comes out of Signs and Wonders.

The album starts off with the title track Signs and Wonders which instantly sets the mood, and the mood is relaxing with strong vocals and soft piano playing in the background, this song is a great song and shows you what to expect throughout. There are harder songs on the album but after you hear the sound of this band hard and soft don't matter when everything is delivered in such a great manner. There are just so many good things to say about this album but the best I find is the emotion that is put into every song. They all just hit so hard and really make you feel relaxed, anxious or whatever emotion you are meant to feel.

With so many bands having similar sounds anymore its very refreshing to hear something new and completely unexpected from a band, especially for their first full album. As much praise as I give it Sings and Wonders misses the perfect score because as I said, at times it can get a little boring because there are a couple repetitive spots but nothing bad enough to not completely recommenced this CD. Go download this on itunes today.

Great progression of songs, well organized. Features many instruments. Not a bad song on this cd....

Not a bad first review. However you could develop your review a lot more as in. As in go into more depth about certain songs and so forth.

The review also comes of a bit fan-boyish but not bad for a first review. And I pretty much agree with you here.

This is a real gem of an album. Anyone who likes new Thrice should pick this up.

Shame they broke up. Honestly, I'm surprised no one's pointed out the obvious Thrice obsession that CTT has. Seriously. Listen to "In Vitro", then Thrice's "The Whaler." Same progressions, melodies, tempo, percussion, even the same KEY. Dead rip-off.

That aside, this was an excellent album. I probably just like it because of the Thricey moments, but I also really love the way they work in post-rock elements.

This is a pleasant surprise. They do sound a lot like Thrice which isn't a bad thing, but a bit frustrating because they have real talent and I would have like to listen to something more individually creative from them. Shame they broke up, they could have made really great music in the future.

Phenomenal record. Some songs are samesy and In Vitro is a complete rip off of The Whaler. Otherwise great, too bad they aren't still together.
