Review Summary: An emo/metal classic [bold]So this is my first review so i hope you like it. I'm reviewing the emo/metal classic If Only You Were Lonely by Hawthorne Heights. Some poeple say that its too emo and unoriginal and whiney to be good, but if you can just understand that some music is MEANT to be sad and depresing, you can realise that there is literally nothing wrong with it, the guitarist is a genious. Some people also say that the song titles are too emo and complaining but once again its an opinion, and anyone who says that should stop and listen to they're "Poker Face" "I'm a b" and everything else that has SO MUCH more meaning (that was sarcasm.) Obviously if your going into the album expecting butterflies and roses you'll be disappointed. But...lifes hard for some people, and everyone needs to accept that, and this album does a great job of making everything less hard because it shows that everyone hurts sometimes and that life is sad sometimes. No one has more sad vocals than Hawthornes vocalist, seriously, try to listen to it wthout wanting to hug him, lol. No but really, his passionate screams and cries seem to connect with whose listening, even if life is tough. That means a lot, and deserves 3 out of the 4.5 points i'm giving this album. Also, who else thinks the drummers on steroids? Most drummers now just use a double bass pedal which means their doing HALF the work, but he only uses a unibass pedal, meaning he does double the work and pounds away like hes going to war through the whole album. So theres another 0.5 points. Even the bass does a great job of seting the mood and being heard...may his amp goes to 11!!! But really i don't know why more bands don't really use the bass like Hawthorne does but I'm glad that they do. It makes it a whole other thing... The guitars shred in a fashionable way. They aren't like Bring Me the Horizon playing a bunch of notes as fast as they can up and down as a world record, they play each one with meaning and purpose and passion...so theres the final 1 point. I know a lot of people here pick songs for people to listen to, but i can't. Each song has brought me through so much in my life and you need to hear it too believe it...I know it sounds all whatever, but really...just listen to the album KNOWING that its sad, KNOWING that its depressing, KNOWING that its emotional, KNOWING that its not a play as fast as you can on every instrument album...KNOWING that its maybe the best album of modern times in my opinion. I think too many guys think their too strong to show emotions so they hate the album automaticly but love albums like Metallica that have VERY SIMILAR RIFFS AND DRUMS just less emotion, and if people realise it, Hawthorne Heights will finally get the respect they deserve..[/bold]

| | | Paragraphs are cool.
So is grammar.
Spelling is also nice.
Um, knowing what you're talking about (how is this album evocative of anything somber?) is also pretty cool.
| | | Album Rating: 4.5
Wait, why does it say the rating is a 2.3? wtf?
| | | why were you trying to bold a review? That's the stupidest thing ever. As well, you did the tag wrong.

| | | I'm not gonna neg because it's your first review but there is a lot to fix here.

You should save that comment for well, your first comment (even if it is unnesscary due to the review counter next to your username.) Even though this is an ameteaur reviewing website, try to keep your writing as professional as possible, because that's what most people are looking for. Remember, you're trying to convince people to listen to the album in question.
If Only You Were Lonely by Hawthorne Heights. Some poeple say that its too emo and unoriginal and whiney to be good, but if you can just understand that some music is MEANT to be sad and depresing, you can realise that there is literally nothing wrong with it, the guitarist is a genious.
Generally, we italicize album titles using the [ i ] [ / i ] tags (minus the spaces of course). Also, you should run this through a spell checker before posting because there are several words misspelled (in this sentence and throughout the rest of the review) Also the whole " the guitarist is a genius" point is kind of a random inclusion - it's okay to have that kind of stuff but make sure you back it up (and of course through it into the review coherently).
Obviously if your going into the album expecting butterflies and roses you'll be disappointed.
Once again, you should keep a more serious manner and back up your points.

Here, you actually did a good job at describing some things about the drummer, but the whole adding to the score thing is unnecessary. Let the review and overall rating of the album do the talking.
Essentially what I've said can apply to the rest of review, but like I said it's only your first so I won't neg. Apply some of this to your next review and I'm sure it'll be great. Welcome to Spuntik!

May his amp goes to 11!!!
| | | If he's a troll I don't really care because I'm not doing anything better at the moment anyway, and if he's not a troll at least he got some constructive criticism.
