Review Summary: White boy gettin' ready to do his thang.

Kid Rock is better than you. He writes whatever the fuck he wants. Before becoming a rap-rocker/rocker/country/whatever the fuck he makes nowadays, he was a rapper. One of the first white rappers, like Vanilla Ice, but better. His first album Grits Sandwiches For Breakfast is in a similar vein of all his other albums. Cocky, immature and totally fun. This isn't serious music, this is music to break out the alcohol and fuck trailer park bitches to.

The album starts with “Yo-Da-Lin In The Valley” starting with a a spoken word intro which tells you basically what the songs is about:

But anyway I..I..I like to value my
relationship with women. You know sometimes I get so
deeply involved I just, I just have to feel like
oral sex would complete our relationship

Oh yes, this song is dedicating to going down on chicks. Yeaaaahhhhhh. The song and album in general are lead by funky, bass driven beats, medium tempo drums and with occasional samples. The K-I-D doesn't have the fastest flow, but this brotha can spit. He goes in an all out assault on “Cramp Ya Style”

When I dismiss you from your throne
And send you home
As a Kid Rock clone
Cause I can hold my own
Like ya hold a milkbone
Simple as this with a grip that won't quit
So when I hit the skit
That's it

While not the strongest lyricist, he raps with passion and is reminiscent of soon to be fellow rap-rocker Fred Durst. Except it's no angst and all fun. Like I said earlier, this is an album to get shit faced to. If you're not a few shots in this is probably terribly cheesy and annoying to you. Or you just don't enjoy fun party rap from the K-I-D. By song 7 “Wax The Booty” we've come to the best song on the album. Showcasing Kid's surprisingly good storytelling abilities. Telling us of his conquest of getting in the booty of some lucky female. With the best/grossest verse on the album depending who you are.

I thought my mission was complete so I gave her a kiss
Then I was searchin' for a towel to clean off my dickie
Cause it was kinda wet all bloody and sticky
And to talk about gross here's something sicker than sick
The bitch dropped to her knees and licked the tip of my dick
I started trippin' cause this was something I've never seen
The girl was more than a freak she was a sexual fiend
And when I thought that was as gross as one girl could get
She stuck her finger in her booty and then she licked it
Oh now this girl was much more to me than a freak
In my opinion she was plain nasty
But never the less I completed my duty
I got this freak and co-waxed the booty

This is white-trash rap. Pure and simple. That's not a bad thing, when it's done right. You can hear how young Mr. Rock sounds on this album. Compared to the rasp of his voice these days. This is an album for the young and naïve, Most of the musical elite will call this garbage, and write it off. Much like they have his other, more famous albums. But Kid is different, he makes fun, immature music for the masses. But it doesn't sound forced or lame at all. It all just seems so natural. The rest of the album seems to follow the same route the first took. It's the same cocky, better than thou attitude that it started with. It doesn't get stale though, although the beats are all very similar, with Kid's entertaining flow and fun lyrics you find yourself singing along to, it manages to stay entertaining. It's 56 minutes later, have you finished with that trailer trash yet? If you haven't it's probably because you passed out. Or her husband came home, either way, it was a good night.

Man, just don't be a wussy
And I'll guarantee you could get a piece of pussy
But to get it you have to realize
don't brag to the freak about your dick size
Man, that's not the way to win it
Cause it is not the length of your wand its the magic in it

This review probably isn't that good, but I wanted to do it anyway. As always, criticism would be nice, since this is probably really bad ; )

That was what it was originally. But then I added some half-assed thoughts to the thing.

Haha, apparently a college radio station got fined by the FCC for playing Yodalin The Valley. Also, those lyrics to Wax The Booty are disgusting.
