If you’ve heard of HIM and or The 69 eyes you’ve probably stumbled across Negative. All three bands are the top Rock bands from Finland in case you didn’t know. Now if you’ve heard of HIM and or The 69 Eyes and you think they’re god awful for whatever reason. Then this may not change your opinion of Negative even before hearing the music, even after I tell you that Negative has their own sound. So try not to judge this music until you’ve heard it. If you listen to the album or a few songs, you’ll most likely get a true opinion on the album and or band. Plus I think that the only reason why they are similar to HIM and The 69 Eyes is lyrical theme, and they’ve supported them on tours before. Also vocally as it goes it’s not baritone. The genre isn’t Love Metal or Goth N’Roll, it’s actually more Glam Rock than anything.

Karma Killer is Negatives 4th studio album; this album has more hard rock songs compared to their predecessors off of their previous albums. Lyrically as it goes most of the songs come across as fighting through decisions, love, emotional pain, and sick and tired of people. The vocals on Karma Killer are outstanding you actually hear more vocal ranges from Jonne Aaron in this album. The drums are very simple but yet still affective. The bass guitar is there but it’s hardly noticeable, but if they didn’t have the bass you would notice something is missing. The guitars have stand out power chords in this album which gives about half of the album a hard rock feel to it, the guitar work doesn’t have as many solos but the work is very melodic and it fits in great. Same as the pianos, melodic and fits in great.

Karma Killer starts off with “A Devil on my Shoulder” it was one of those more hard rock songs just like “Mother***er (just like you)” both songs are recommended, but “Mother***er (just like you)” got a little repetitive at the end. There are the songs that are mild and worth the listen such as “Won’t Let Go”, “Sealed”, “Dead as We” this is where most tracks are mixed with parts of hard rock and mild parts in the songs but all are recommended. Another great stand out of this album is “Lust N’Needs” this track in particular has a solo, its hard rock, the lyrics are well written and it’s one of the best songs on Karma Killer. The last song of the album is “Gravity of Love” it’s a perfect song, also it’s about eight minutes long, so far if you’ve heard most of the album and you liked it, this song won’t be a waste of your time.

In my opinion it’s an excellent album, all of it’s worth the listen. Again they have their own sound, vocally as it goes it isn’t baritone as HIM or The 69 Eyes. But for you to have a legit opinion on the album and band you can’t listen just to one song and go with the mainstream opinion, you more or less have to listen to about 3 songs to get an opinion. So check it out it’s not as bad as you think it maybe.

Good review, especially for a first. You've got some good ideas going on, and you are definitely familiar with the source material.

That said, I would suggest running this review through one more time - if only to weed out punctuation and/or grammar errors (there are a fair few). The review could also use less of the personal pronoun "I", as it sounds a bit too personal and conversational for my liking.

But overall, I'd say you're on the right track. Welcome to Sputnik - hope to hear more from you in the coming days.

Not bad for a first review man. There were a few spots where a comma should have been used instead of a period, and try not to reiterate things as much, good job on your first though.
