Review Summary: shots from the hippo.

Here
Are my place and time
And here in my own skin
I can finally begin
Let the century pass me by
Standing under night sky
Tomorrow means nothing

I was only a child then
Feeling barely alive when
I heard a song from the speaker of a passing car
And prayed to a dying star
The memory's fading
I can almost remember singing la, la la, la la la la
La la, la la, la la la la

We watched the end of the century
Compressed on a tiny screen
A dead star collapsing and we could see
That something was ending
Are you through pretending
We saw its signs in the suburbs

You could never have predicted
That he could see through you
Kasparov, Deep Blue, nineteen-ninety six
Your mind's pulling tricks now
The show is over so take a bow
We're living in the shadows la, la la, la la la la
La la, la la, la la la la

La la, la la, la la la la
La la, la la, la la la la
La la, la la, la la la la
La la, la la, la la la la

Hey
Put the cellphone down for a while
In the night there is something wild
Can you hear it breathing?
And hey
Put the laptop down for a while
In the night there is something wild
I feel it, it's leaving me

La la, la la, la la la la
La la, la la, la la la la
La la, la la, la la la la
La la, la la, la la la la

it's a good review, but you should probably avoid a track-by-track style in the future.

Sprawl II is the best song off this album, so gee dee good

I felt compelled to brandish a track by track account.

This album is a masterpiece and I felt it needed to be fully laid out on the operating table.

yah fair enough. it was a well worked approach, it's just frowned upon sometimes. I thought it was good though.

etc...

should have just gone with my original idea of Herpes

sulky, I am going to be audibly laughing at that one for a good ten minutes.

Thanks for that.

gahahaha fucking doritos, that's classic. MASSIVE review by the way, can't lie and said I read it all but what I did read seemed pretty thorough (in a good way), though track by tracks are never really a good idea...

Nice review, I don't usually like track by tracks but this was actually an interesting one. One question though: Where is "Wasted Hours"?

Hideous mistake on my part... Sorry and thank you NigelH.

I deserve several moist-leather lashings; but it might be surpassable if this sweaty past-time was to

fuelled by The Velvet Underground's 'White Light/White Heat LP.'

But truthfully, I made a mistake. I shall mend it. But I can't at this moment as I have a date with a

biological necessity.

boring band is boring. i do not understand what is so special about these hipsters banging away in simple time at the same tempo for over an hour. they are gay versions of bruce springsteen.

this is a nice review though.

Gay versions of Bruce Springsteen? WAT

Still one of my favorites from 2010. The first four tracks and Sprawl II are absolutely stunning. Rest of the album is good, but those tracks in particular are just crazy good.

Good review, but yeah like everyone else said most people really dislike track-by-track reviews.

Dude, you explained EVERY. SINGLE. TRACK. And it was much more thorough than I needed. Also, hardly anything about the music other than the lyrics were talked about in the review.

How can a review be too thorough?

Longwinded yeh, thorough no.

Reviews should be thorough.

I disagree. It's like having some good nachos. You want there to be a lot of cheese. But if they put on so much cheese that you have more cheese than chips, it's not so good.

Stupid analogy aside. It's FINE longwinded, I just got really sick of reading it. But that's probably just me pms'ing
