Review Summary: Bruce discovered the best revenue to Rock'n Roll in amazing album
One masterpiece of music. This is born to run by Bruce Springsteen. Before the success of “Born in the USA”, this album was released and made success of critic. The rockn’roll in this record is influenced by 60’s musics and hardrock resulting in a amazing album.
The record opens with “Thunder Road”. It begins with a sweet sound of an harmonica and after, Bruce starts to sing the great melody and the incredible chorus. “Born to run” has strong blues and jazz influences. Some examples are “Tenth avenue freeze out” and “she is the one”. “Backstreets” has these influences too and begins with a piano’s introduction and fastly arrives a classic rock’n roll sound. Another observation are the openings and endings in every songs that always begin with great instrumental and incredible chorus.
“Night is the most animated track. It seems Elvis Presley’s songs (Bruce’s idol) and sounds dancing. The track that names the album is the record’s climax. This song is the best performance of the band. The chorus and instrumental together become something sensational and a rare song. “Meeting across the street” is the calmest music in the album, in this track Bruce teachs how to make an amazing song with just voice, piano and sax.
The record ends with “Jungleland”, an excellent song and the longest track. After Bruce sings, the awesome sax player, Clarence Clemons, plays a wonderful solo. After this, Springsteen returns and sings an emotional and amazing finale. One classic end for a classic album.
