'Writeabout' is straight in and no messin’. David Alexander’s machine gun vocals attack the media’s obsession with celebrity culture with a matrix of stabbing riffs stampeding against the brittle snap of thunderous drumming. Simon Johnson shreds the lead guitar strings like his old man, you can smell his bloodied fingers from here. The infectious energy is absorbing on every level; the end is abrupt and leaves you breathless.
'Steve' is a familiar tune to their die-hard fans; it provides a catchy juxtaposition with an innocent directness in the vocals against a jagged backbeat. They don’t flaunt their skills, it’s out there in the deviant rhythm and enticing hooks.
