Review Summary: Following the disappointment that was Peace, Kyuss Lives(aka Vista Chino) finally
manage to show that they are just as capable as their legendary predec...oh wait....
Kyuss, if you've heard of stoner-rock, you've heard of them. Two albums considered absolute classics, a short band lifetime that is often compared to the Velvet Underground, and enviable reputations that have befallen each of the band members in the years since, Kyuss were one hell of band. Now fast forward 14 years and some guys in Poland have officially decided that the world needs more Kyuss, so they made their own stoner-rock band. And as if they felt that it wasn't obvious enough what their influences were, so they named their band Palm Desert, which just happens to be the name of Kyuss's hometown. So yeah, the fuzzy riffs, the warm, outdoor desert feeling(which is kind of ironic since these guys are from Poland), and the ever-present heaviness are all here. But oddly enough, even as these guys are just Kyuss worshippers doing what they love, they somehow make for a more convincing Kyuss impression than Vista Chino.
