Release Date: 2003 | Tracklist

I just picked up the album "In Between Now And Then" by a band named O.A.R. (not oar) which stands for Of A Revolution.

This is the bands 5th album and 1st major label album.

The previous 4 albums were produced and distributed independantly. Backed by full time tours this band independantly sold over 200,000 albums. After years of touring O.A.R. had developed a following that allowed them to sell out venues to 3000 people anywhere in the country. By January of 2003, O.A.R. signed a record deal with Lava Records. This saw them head into Electric Lady Studios (previously owned by Jimmy Hendrix) to record their major label debut, "In Between Now And Then."

Produced by John Alagia (Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer) "In Between Now And Then" contains 13 polished songs. The album combines a perfect mix of Rock, Reggae, and Ska influenced grooves. Combined with catchy vocals, and perceptive lyrics, Any Time Now is an album that will grow on even the most skeptical of Critics.

Songs such as Right On Time, Mr. Moon, Old Man Time, Anyway, and Dareh Meyod highlight the album.

I give this album 5 out of 5 stars.

I was actually a little disappointed with this album. I like the band O.A.R. but with this album the band moves away from their raw, live sounding tracks like Crazy Game of Poker replacing them with studio polished tracks such as Dareh Meyod. I prefer the old OAR but this CDs ok. I would recommend their live album Any Time Now instead of this one. Good review though.

Bad review. "Hey Girl" is a cool song. To the user above, OAR have no reggae in their music.

Yeah I love Hey Girl. Overall I like the review. They are really not widely known, but they are a great band.

Why is this 'review' so short?
