Review Summary: Not quite Britney Spears of metal with a male singer, but really close.
Whereas TesseracT have some lazy vocals, and the songwriting allows for endless meandering, Voyager are much more direct. There’s barely a dull moment here, just straightforward tracks that manage to infuse elements from disco, and the 80s into chunky, abso***inlutely happy slapping djent. You might think I’m describing Twelve Foot Ninja, but uh, not quite because this is a Voyager review you ***ing idiot. The bands share much in common, such as a guitar that’s thick as *** like my dick that ***s. Oh the places you will go, the things you will hear, with a pace out of control and metallic bling to the ears (that’s earrings homie).
The classic rock vocals like frantic, stalked opals. Guitars complicated like manic morse code, strong enough to put Bieber into a damned chokehold. They stick to the planet’s bro code, yet with their influences they seem more exotic than a Spanish horned toad. The audience is ravaged more so than other bands that don’t slap it like porn shows. I bet the band have gorgeous toes, because when they deFEET you it’s not for show. Sorry playa. I will stop rapping now cause I’m bored though scored goals.
Metal bands have the risk of sounding poppy when they have a singer and the catchy music, like this band, and it is lovelier than discovering flowers at your porch with a card that says, “Don’t worry about Clara, I took care of her”. Indeed, the band has a plentitude of Madonna moments (just listen to Lifeline for ***’s sake), sounding like the entire album is a progressive take on Material Girl. Honestly, if you can’t see the pop elements in here than I don’t even know what to do to you man, but you will suffer for your sins one day. If someone doesn’t string you up by your toenails at the edge of a cliff, they probably have equally bizarre musical opinions, just saying. There’s also a bit of U2 in the band if you’re paying attention, but only the good parts like their album The Joshua Tree. It’s a unique band is what I’m getting at, and all parts are catchy and super duper heavy. Pos.
