Review Summary: we should listen to goth music every day
In spite of being explicitly ethereal, there is very little ambiguity to
Night on Earth. From its very first notes, Pink Milk’s aims are crystal clear: they’re goth, they’re dreamy, and they’re here to transport you to a hazy world of 80’s-infused darkwave. Every song is a glacial exploration of the duo’s carefully curated soundscape, tracing opaque synths along droning vocals and weaving each ghostly element into a unique and memorable melody. The record’s stylings are rarely original and at times even a little
too immersive - not all repeated lines stick the landing - but
Night on Earth is a highly focused project that manages to maintain a magnificent, oppressive atmosphere all throughout. It’s a lovely piece of Dark and Dreamy escapism, and who doesn’t love some DnD?
