  • ButteryBiscuitBass Thanks bro, I really love your track 'Zero Hour', I was having a bad day yesterday and that song brightened it up for me.

  • Tunaboy45 Who knows maybe you'll like it if you give it another go. One of the huge selling points of the album is Matt's lyrics and how the music compliments them so well, if that's not something you're into and you find it dreary that's fair enough.
    May 8 10:38 PM
  • Tunaboy45 I can see why some may find it dull but I honestly love it. Damn a 1 that's harsh. AMSP is so gooooood.
    May 8 10:10 PM
  • Tunaboy45 Looks like we'll be waiting another 4 years for Cut a Hole mate
    May 8 07:42 PM
  • Frippertronics could be a bit of both
    April 8 05:28 PM
  • Frippertronics cool man, what'd you think of white goddess?
    April 8 01:58 AM
  • Frippertronics Okay, change of plan. Since I had to write three more reviews for the discog, I'm going to go through them all and post them day by day. I may have Dust up by Friday, or earlier depending on how much I get done.
    April 5 06:06 AM
  • Frippertronics aight mane
    April 4 10:03 PM
  • Frippertronics Alright then. Any idea when yours will drop?
    April 4 09:50 PM
  • Frippertronics Yeah, I think he really reached a peak in terms of vocals on Invicta, and that album worked a lot better in general because it made a compromise between the instrumental side and the vocal side.
    April 4 09:14 PM
  • Frippertronics I would be lying if I said I'm not biased towards the pre-Journey's End stuff, but I prefer Max as the vocalist because it just seems to fit more into the band's sound. I'm fine with Joe, but I could really live without the pointless woos and vocal hiccups he pulls on Dust. Not to mention the whole prancing around on stage and adding vocals to instrumentals just don't do it for me. I know he plays that electronic flute thing, whatever it's called, but it'd be nice if he actually played something
    April 4 09:00 PM
  • Frippertronics yeah, that's what I've heard. Would be cool if they reincorporated some stuff from Touch Me and White Goddess back into the set, but I guess the Invicta/Dust musical theatre shows are what they're doing now. The newest one is their most accessible since Something Wicked, but it really feels like they're lingering between a more poppier sound in the vein of musical theatre and more vocal prog. It almost feels like they're having trouble figuring out what they want to sound like.
    April 4 08:44 PM
  • Frippertronics Only footage, they've only come to America once for Nearfest in 2010.
    April 4 08:32 PM
  • Frippertronics tonight tonight tonight (possibly)
    April 4 08:22 PM
  • Frippertronics yeah, i plan on getting one out by tomorrow

  • TwigTW Loving it--so close to AOTY for me.
    August 7 04:28 AM
  • TwigTW Hard not to 4.5 the new Everything Everything even though your review rates it at a 4. ;-)
    July 23 05:58 AM
  • Mad. Dude a friend of mine asked me why I hadn't liked the Facebook page called "Prog Talk," I go on the Facebook page and what do I find? A 'best of 2014' list with Anubis, Bent Knee, DTES and Engineers in. Coincidence? I think not
    December 19 10:29 AM
  • Mad. Excited to see your review, they definitely deserve the attention. Shame about your list - it got featured and everything
    December 13 12:19 PM
  • Mad. Bent Knee are awesome btw
    December 9 10:52 AM
  • Mad. Ah cool, I may review it if I feel I have enough to say. Won't be for a while though. I usually end up just reviewing things I like that need reviews rather than being conscientious about it
    December 8 10:38 PM
  • Mad. For me, the production, level of musicianship and songwriting is just a cut above in HTB, the band really hit their potential. Plus I feel AToS creaks under it's weight a bit, songs like This Final Resting Place and Weeping Willow seem a bit long / drawn out / not as good as the rest, but it is great nonetheless. Do you plan to review it?
    December 3 07:55 AM
  • Mad. YES I finally decided where it sits, I like to take a while to rate albums so I can fully take them in. Still about a 4.3 though, HtB is definitely their best imo
    December 1 06:44 PM
  • Chrisjon89 hah, yeah, I feel the same way about that song, still. it's interesting that on that album, they use purely the most common and natural of all instruments and still it sounds so strange. I think I might've seen the DVD that comes with Voltaic but still gotta listen.
    November 1 12:17 AM
  • Mad. Ah dayum that sucks. You should get a lastfm tho, it's a really useful/cool website and then I can stalk what you're listening to. New MBtW is shaping up to be awesome, love the artwork name
    October 12 03:41 PM
  • Mad. Dude do yall have lastfm???
    October 7 07:35 PM
  • Mad. M8 have you heard the new MBtW song?? It's great
    October 3 06:40 PM
  • Mad. Hmm, maybe try Tempel or She Said? Those albums I think are mellower. Colour Haze are such an amazingly talented/consistent band, definitely worth delving into. As for TPT, album's about a 3.3 for me right now, sadly it seems to be just them in their comfort zone not trying anything particularly exciting. Still enjoyable tho
    September 15 08:16 PM
  • Mad. Have ya checked Colour Haze or Earthless yet?
    September 14 12:11 PM
  • Mad. Rhythms From a Cosmic Sky for Earthless and the s/t for Colour Haze. Colour Haze are a legendary Krautrock/stoner rock band and that's their magnum opus so you can't go wrong there, it's stunning
    September 1 10:21 PM
  • Mad. Yeah I saw! Can't wait for it, hopefully it'll be even better. Have you heard any bands like Earthless or Colour Haze? They're very similar to MBtW and just as awesome if not better
    August 29 07:29 PM
  • Mad. I Wash My Soul In The Stream Of Infinity is wonderful
    August 26 08:39 PM
  • Mad. Ya think I didn't know?! I made a news article for it, looks very promising but we're yet to hear Bruce's 7 string guitar and if the new drummer can live up to Keith. As for my Anubis CDs, they STILL haven't arrived!
    July 5 09:18 AM
  • Mad. They coulda at least made them smaller, but fair enough they still look awesome, can't wait for mine! Don't worry I'm from the UK too I should be awake for it, eagerly anticipating it!
    June 4 03:16 PM
  • Mad. Damn those look good! Shame they've covered the front cover of AToS with signatures, can't see the awesome artwork :\
    June 4 01:55 PM
  • Mad. Hell yeah just ordered it! I dunno if that's the last one ever or if they'll restock. Have you got yours yet?
    June 3 11:06 AM
  • Mad. Awesome man. There's only 2 of the full catalogues left, so I better get mine soon!
    May 31 11:04 AM
  • Mad. Oh wow man that's a high rating, awesome! It's probably around a 4.0 for me right now, still have to get to know the individual songs. I'm thinking Blood is Thicker Than Common Sense and Tightening The Screws are the best tracks so far. If you think you're gonna review it try and do it in around the next 7 days cuz that's the Sputnik rules for featuring reviews on the front page. If ya write one we should be able to get it featured, then hopefully more people will find out about Anubis!
    May 30 09:07 PM
  • Mad. Yo have you heard HTB yet?!?! I've given it 1 listen, it's great stuff but quite a lot to take in. Not thinking it's as good as A Tower of Silence though.
    May 30 12:57 PM
  • Mad. Aww yeaaaaaah! We can still stream it on bandcamp though. I'm thinking of getting all 3 of their albums for £33 next it feels like long enough since I spent ridiculous amounts of money on CDs
    May 29 08:02 PM
  • Mad. Yo man I reviewed this album, you'd probably dig. One of 2014's best: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/62462/Messenger-Illusory-Blues/Less than a week till Hitchhiking to Byzantium, I'm pumped!
    May 25 10:56 PM
  • Mad. That would be awesome to give both a review! If you review HTB make sure you do it within 2 weeks after a release (preferably 1) so it can get featured. My only worry is that after 2 already awesome albums they might run out of ideas, but the artwork's defo got me excited
    May 12 05:24 PM
  • Mad. Yo, I saw your 'Anubis hype' list, and was wondering if you're interested in reviewing HTB. I would, but I haven't heard the band enough to make the review as good as possible, and from your other reviews I know you're an excellent writer. If you review it (when it's out) I'll help you get featured at the top of the front page so we can SHARE THE ANUBIS LOVE! Shoutbox me
    May 9 09:12 PM
  • Mad. Unmissable http://humanfly.bandcamp.com/album/awesome-science-2

    October 25 07:45 PM
  • Mad. Hey man have you heard Mother's Cake - Creation's Finest or Airbag - All Rights Removed? I bet you'd dig that stuff
    August 21 01:02 AM
