| Chortles hmmm ok... have you heard voices from the lake - s/t? it's probably my favorite album honest, so it's THE inspiring thing for me. others: dj tennis - dj kicks (dj mix from this year, long as fk but sublime and a total love letter to old house/techno stars), micronism - inside a quiet mind (recently re-issued, very good), trentemoller - the last resort (very reflective, spans a lot of styles). those are all v inspiring to me (all 5s except micronism, only recently started listening)

 | wtferrothorn That Booji Boys record was pretty decent. The production was satisfyingly raw and overall is was a great shot of adrenaline. This songwriting would probably b the weakest part, but I'm guessing that it probably isn't the priority on this record. I'd def come back to this for the energy alone tho.

| jtswope Vocals weren't a huge turnoff no, but I personally wasn't totally swept away by the songwriting either, which is why my rating isn't as glowing. Like the vocals fit, but I didn't connect with them as much. But I also feel like I view my 3s more favorably than a lot of users on here, so I still consider it a good release overall that I'd come back to.

| jtswope Thought it was solid and interesting stuff - especially in terms of the production. Vocals didn't enthrall me, but the backdrop was really colorful and intimate, which I dug. I take it that's one of your favorites this year?
