| Deviant. I can't say I'm the biggest acid house fan, but take a look into 808 State, Phuture, Adamski, LFO and Baby Ford
| Deviant. I wouldn't say that it blew my mind, in fact it was incredibly easy to follow and didn't really require a great deal of thinking to follow/understand. But easily movie of the year, the only that annoyed me ever so slightly was how he cut scenes just like a dream; as in, there was no introduction. Sometimes you'd come in halfway through etc
| Deviant. Rotten tomatoes has Inception at a 100% after 8 reviews
| Deviant. http://www.slashfilm.com/2010/06/23/peter-travers-reviews-inception-praises-nolans-non-commercial-head-trip-of-a-thriller/
| Deviant. Haha, nah man it wasn't me. I did invite her to the site though
| Ire hi my name is progmaster, i rape shoutboxes
| Deviant. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MGY5R86Z
| foreverendeared Brodre, I've never heard of this one, I'll have to check it out.
| foreverendeared Yeah, one of my favorites. Have you seen The Conversation, a Francis Ford Coppola film that's similar?
| SeaAnemone mind if I join you and Deviant in regards to being excited for Inception? looks amazing
| DaveyBoy I thought it was a punk band. LOL. She is on the list.
| DaveyBoy You have not pushed them Steven. Any similar bands.
| BallsToTheWall Metal Greymon and a hot Italian looking chick that could fit in with jersey Shore. For rizzle though who is that
| DiceMan Ahh... It got a little confusing I guess, around when it started trying to cut through all the bulls*** about which one is a live and which one is dead and such...
| DiceMan AKA, the "ending of the world" was just the ending of Donnie's world as he knew it.
| DiceMan What happens is future Donnie sits and watches the town get sucked into a tornado wormhole thing, while past Donnie, without having any interactions with the bunny, stays in bed and laughs as the plane engine crashes into his bedroom and kills him. Then it goes through all of the people whose lives were changed and it shows how they are different, all because he didn't have interactions with the bunny. EX) His girlfriend(Gretchen) never dies, and instead rides by on her bike puzzled.
| Deviant. Haha, yeah. That girl's acting is beyond terrible, probably the only bad piece of casting Nolan has ever done
| Deviant. 1. Memento 2. The Dark Knight 3. The Prestige 4. Insomnia 5. Following 6. Batman Begins
| Thor glad to see at least one person on this site isn't a complete retard
| Deviant. And the fact that he's been writing the for about 10 years is only making me more excited about it. Reading about it earlier, there's scenes where as the dreams they're in start to collapse the rooms start spinning around and around, and apparently they did that without cg
| Deviant. You mean Nolan's first movie? Yeah, and its freakin' amazing. I can't wait for Inception
| Athom nah, that album bugs me.
| theacademy i mean, there are worse movies/sequels out there, but they're nothing close to the first in the series and not really good.
| theacademy yea people don't rep scream enough for being both a satire AND a slasher. Parodies (like Scary Movie) are like McDonalds compared to the fine steak is a movie like Scream. Sometimes you're in the mood for McDonalds, and you get your quick fix and enjoy it without appreciating it much, but a good steak is always more rewarding. Sometimes tho u just like watching retarded s*** (like Scary Movie 2), so i can't really think of a beef comparison there..
| theacademy dude i honestly dont think the white flag is necessary. it's a pretty harmless jabbing and the kind of arguing that should happen here (which is argument over music (and occasionally movies) instead of full on fighting)... its sorta fun even. also, im looking forward to DS 2 sooooo dammmm muchh bro...
| Phantom Holy s***, now that is awesome, gonna have to watch that. I'd like to see a French and German variations on OH MY GOOOOOOOOD too.
| Douglas haha its fantastic isnt it! Really? its a classic as well
| Slum haha Digimon is so hipster of you!
| Slum Metalgreymon ftw
| DaveyBoy Still waiting for your review number 50 Steven.
| tiesthatbind Yeah I'm psyched for that. Plus I haven't even seen seasons 1-6 so I'll backtrack after this one is done.
| tiesthatbind I'm glad to see respect for such an awesome game/soundtrack.
And yeah, I'm bummed it's cancelled too :(
| AtavanHalen The words written are the French equivalent of the old "he loves me, he loves me not" thing.
| EnricoPalazzo Well... We shot a lot of people together. It's been great. But today I retire, so if I do any shooting now, it'll have to be within the confines of my own home. Hopefully, an intruder and not an in-law, like at my bachelor party.
| PanasonicYouth i mean its good but it just doesn't hit me like the other songs do
| Brokenjewel Cool, man. I'm a bit oversensitive at times, like when I'm awake.
| AtavanHalen Directions is a collection of short films. Each director was given a song from Plans to make a film/video for, and so Directions is basically a visual companion to Plans.
| TRMshadow Thanks Never tried that. I checked and though the cache doesn't have all of them it has around 700, which is close. Thanks
| DaveyBoy Steve, I think it was you who assure me that RX Bandits would be great live. If it was you, you were NOT wrong. They were awesome.
| tiesthatbind Oh yeah, it was fromtheinside. I'm at the U of O, what college are you attending?
| tiesthatbind Yeah I saw that, that's cool, man, nice to see another Oregonian on here. Do you know who on here is also from Eugene? I saw there was a regular on here that's from here, I forgot who it was though.
| Willie It could be done now, but it has too much metal and post rock. I need to try a hip-hop or electronica album or two to even things out.
| Willie No, not at all. Why would I want you to take them out? You should check them out if you haven't, though ;)
| Yazz_Flute I believe you lol it's just funny cuz it's seriously written EXACTLY the same as mine, you even mention stuff in the same order, it's just worded it a bit differently.
| Yazz_Flute Nice soundoff for We Are the Void...looks a bit familiarhaha
| Willie Probably Stabbing Westward - Darkest Days, Chemlab - Burn Out at the Hydrogen Bar, and Machines of Loving Grace - Gilt.
| fromtheinside DWB? yeah i've heard it. its alright i always go back and forth between that and Rival Factions.
| theacademy ://www.joblo.com/get-cherry-bombed-with-new-pics-from-the-runaways
| Bsmith7 I love your profile picture haha.
| BallsToTheWall Akerfeldt is still growling like a beast. production magic or just plain resilient?
| BallsToTheWall 90's era Thomas Lingberg was ace. He sounded like a maniac laced on mind altering drugs. Other guys suck. It's just Clark's vocals do not add any aggression whatsoever and with each passing album they sound weaker. But hey, who knows this might be a decent album even if they'll never reach the level of tryptich again.
| BallsToTheWall Ryan Clark probaly has the pussiest harsh voice in metal.
| Progmaster85 lol you make me laugh more than anyone else on this site
| NeutralThunder12 Again I am not a fan of any screaming vocals, but Tommy's aren't half bad. He has a good clean voice but his screams can be annoying, as I credit all screams to be. Vocals are not though, the music is insane, yet it's still not my thing.
| NeutralThunder12 you have to understand one thing friend, being the multi-instrumentalist he is, he believes Colors to be one of the most astounding things ever. I personally do not enjoy screaming vocals, but I have listened to Colors in full, and it is truly astounding. He;s a fanboy for them, that's why he 'whines' but trust me he never takes it seriously. The reason he gets pissed about when people diss Colors is because it's the album that opened up the musical world for him. And lol, seriously, that
| NeutralThunder12 dude your profile pic is hilarious. And by the way, Progmaster is my friend in real life, don't mind him, he's really really condescending about music but he's a good kid. You also have a sweet taste in music.
| qwe3 haha no problem dude
| someguest ninjuice, have you noticed how being here on a daily basis has turned a lot of us into the piles of s*** we didn't want to be when we took music discussion seriously upon joining? I've noticed it in you, waior, and fromtheinside recently, and I fell into this a few months back. We have to try and take this in a different direction.
| Deviant. Haha, not at all man. I wanted the name Deviant, but a guy who only posts in the forums has it, but he has a review account too. The numbers were just the last 4 digits of a phone number I had for like 10 years, so I use it if I have to resort to adding numbers to a name, if I want that name
| Athom Get The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan next, and then span out to Bringin' It All Back Home, The Times They Are A-Changing, and Highway 61 Revisited.
| Bullitt I loved how when he was stabbing that guy to death he still had his card stuck to his forehead.
| ThePalaceOfWisdom If they were the backstreet boys they'd probably know what success tastes like. Also I dunno, going by early BTBAM I could see the argument being made, they're technical with slight tinge of metalcore and a bad vocalist pretty similar.
| ThePalaceOfWisdom I think you meant his highly accurate soundoff :P. Seriously dude PTH are so awful.
| Dreamsoffew Did you shoutbox me just before. Main page said i had a new message, went to my profile and there was nothing. I only ask because I know you had a problem with it before.
| Dreamsoffew Well moving on, it's good to know you know better now :)
| Dreamsoffew Well I have 3 words for you: Shame. On. You. What made you think that anyway? Aside from whatever theacademy might be saying.
| BallsToTheWall Don't know who the hell she is but I approve. My new search will consist of trying to find some super hot middle eastern/egyptian models to post as a profile picture. Although Anubis is pretty badass.
| Foxhound "Apparently" is the key word. I don't trust anybody lol.
| Foxhound It looks like you have a stalker ( : jk just reading the message boards.
| Dreamsoffew Well thank you nin. What if I said I was cross eyed though?
| Dreamsoffew So you're saying you want to see them? Haha, why's that?
| Dreamsoffew I have no idea what you're on about so no, I don't think it did lol
| Willie Ha ha. Thinking of becoming a stalker?
| Willie Look what I went and did: ://www.sputnikmusic.com/news.php?newsid=11771
| Athom i really need to listen to that. ummmm.... lets see. David Bazan - Curse Your Branches (dude from Pedro the Lion's new stuff), Polar Bear Club - Chasing Hamburg (sounds like if Hot Water Music, Set Your Goals and older Rise Against had a bouncing baby boy), City of Ships - Look What God Did To Us (post-metal Vheissu), and Neko Case - Middle Cyclone (country tinged indie rock).
| foreverendeared After further listens to the new A Fine Frenzy, I have to say it definitely isn't sophomore slump. It's certainly not as good as One Cell In The Sea, but it's certainly just as good in many aspects. I say One Cell: 4.7 Bomb In A Birdcage: 4
| Progmaster85 and of course Symphony X but they are more Progressive or neo-classical power-prog than anything else.
| Progmaster85 I don't love Trivium, I just think people give them a lot of crap because of their "American Metal" sound. Also, BTBAM has never written a 20 minute song. And they are not "jam" songs. While they do focus on the complexity of each instrument and do tend to 'go off' into cool little instrumental sessions, they are still a very talented group of musicians. Kamelot's singer is a whiny little panzy just like most Power Metal singers. The only great power metal that's not full of cheese is Iced Earth
| Progmaster85 BTBAM is awesome. Kamelot sucks. I HATE HATE HATE when I see people say they hate BTBAM but they like gay crap.
| CelestialDust oh it's the singer from metric, emily haines, sorry i took so long to respond lol
| kingsoby1 yeah i was real lazy in october... instead of writing reviews, i decided to *gasp* listen to music, ha. i'll post something before the listing crazy i think. oh wait that's coming up soon right... anyway, i'd say he's kind of like a cross between El-P and Saul Williams.
| StreetlightRock Affirmatory, Ive pretty much written my review already, reaaly good album. But go for your life anyways =)
| BSX POP POWER!!!
| theacademy yea i'm not looking to fight about that. Guy hates me because I like bad music and dislike some good music but watever. Just looking for an explanation... This line is still sorta meh tho: "Any user who thinks he or she is special enough to be an outlier is most likely a retard, anyway."
| foreverendeared Yeah and that may be my final thought too. I've only listened to it 3 times, it just strikes me as being a bit catchier too than One Cell was on my first few listens of it. We'll see though, i need to listen to it more first for sure. Let me know when your review is up so i don't miss it.
| foreverendeared well, i've listened to it 3 times now, so i can give a first impression. I think the new album is slightly more consistent than One Cell... musically, i think there is a definite improvement. Just on first impression, the new album is definitely better overall.
| ThePalestMexican Well, I'm just stating what other reviews haven't said, I could care less how popular I am on a website
| ThePalestMexican thanks! you and like some other guy are the only one who liked my review, but I don't care. I'm just speaking my mind, and **** my "grammer errors" lol
| Gyromania I would like to say I can relate due to all the work that I've had the past few months, but school is much more time consuming and school comes with homework, lol. I actually just posted a Sigur Ros review last night though, made me feel productive again. You and I both need to start writing more.
| Gyromania Have you not been on recently? Haven't seen you around.
| Essence it still IS my favorite movie
| SylentEcho wow, you guys take it so personally. :))
| theacademy yeah i no, im just lazy...super hi res too: ://www.montgomerynews.com/content/articles/2009/05/13/entertainment/doc4a01ddeb8c5d41619905831.jpg
| SylentEcho That's the point! We bash it coz we don't think of it as a genre. I used to like Metalcore at one time. I was 16 back then. That kind of music was just a phase, a phase before I moved on to better metal. For me,they were gateway bands: I've long since passed that "lower level" (unstructured songs, terrible breakdowns) of metal and moved onward.Sorry if I offend you man, I've observed that anyone who isn't a scene kid has also moved on from that kind of music be it on the internet or real life
| BallsToTheWall As i'm sure you've seen Braveheart i feel some similarity between me and the possibly insane Irishman played by David O Hara, The Departed, Doomsday, and apparently the new Harry Potters. **** yeah.
| SylentEcho sorry, but those were just my views man! I wish you fun with the album anyway! :)
| SylentEcho Lul. Just saw your 4.5 rating on that album. Were you being sarcastic?
| Waior Nah, I'm confident in my choice. Fb is you're morbidly curious. Also, you should watch the wedding episode of the Office. They pulled it off perfectly - it wasn't the Jim and Pam show, it was the Office. Best episode in a long while.
| Crysis For some reason whenever I post a link in your shoutbox half of it gets cut off. However, if you go to Dark Tranquillity's myspace right on top it has a few links for Amazon.de and a place called EMP. Both are German websites, but if they ship to the US then you should be all set.
| Waior NOOOO NOT POSSIBLE. Have you been watching season 6? It's like the anti-season 5
| Tilly lol k thanks! yeah i'm staying around but i won't be making any more lists! (:
| fromtheinside how you feel about that new pillar cd? i don't think its too shabby and is definitely a grower for those familiar with the band/sound, others of course won't care.
| ScorpionStan agh too bad. but really, no concept you come up with could be worse than that album...
| Willie My current avatar is just random. It came up on a google images search... who knows what it was I was looking for.
| fromtheinside i feel you. i live in eugene i'm sure you can imagine. i've got a friend who lives in medford but travels to OIT for school.
| chrisonsputnik aw im definitely gettin the physical copy but i duno if i can afford anythin else tbh, ive bought so much stuff recently that im quite poor now haha
| chrisonsputnik hey neighbour :) and naaaah not yet i really need to get on that :( i cant wait for it :D
| Willie I love it. She got rid of the electronic elements, but she has more than made up for it. My review is pretty much done. I'll post it today.
| Phantom ha, oh yeah. well it's true, troll 2 is hilarious
| Waior Alex Silveri, who didn't like it much but is my favorite review sooo... will be okay.
| Waior Haha, I so would but as a contributor I feel more loyal to staff dibs (somebody on staff has already got one in the works or will be).
| Waior Always liked Absolution better, haha. And yeah, I keep deleting that but it keeps coming back. Ugh.
| MaskAtTheMasquerade yeah dude im pretty sure it was the best movie i saw all year too. i hope to have a similar opinion with Ritchie's new movie as well.
| MaskAtTheMasquerade yeah i see what you mean. it was amazing nonetheless. my only slight complaint about it was that i would have liked a few of the characters to have some back story but the film was already long enough, i guess it'd be pushing it. Hopefully in the directors cut they'll include some extra material!!
| Poet lol profile pic.
| shindip congrate, your profile pic just brought the lols
| DaveyBoy Thanks for the info on ADTRemember. They are heading down under in the new year, so I'll give them a listen and see how it goes. The wrestler in my profile pic is the laste great 'British Bulldog' DaveyBoy Smith. One half of the greatest tag-team of all time and later took part in my favorite match ever as a singles wrestler at SummerSlam '92.
| DaveyBoy Hey Steve, you mentioned A Day To Remember in one of the newer reviews, do you think I will like them? What is the approximate percentage of pop-punk as compared to metalcore?
| Waior The Queen Bee. I'm flattered, I think. Why are you listening to each Beatles song twice over?
