| Banion If only you were around to hear how ****ing great Bon Iver got. All your 5?s still hold up. Miss you. I wish I could have seen who you became.
| Emim Never knew you passed, bro. Gonna miss you man
| EStreetEzraliteLGOTs I appreciate the love you gave Sycamore Meadows, but what's wrong with The Academy Is...? Santi is great.
| Banion Lots of great music you?re missing out on, maybe there?s even better where you?re at.

| Banion Miss you so much. Your little sis is turning out pretty well, looked beautiful on her grad. Can't wait to see you again.
| Jash I hope you're rocking some post-rock jams wherever you are man, the place hasn't been the same without you
| esther Hey man I noticed you like some of the same bands I do. I wrote and recorded an EP and I was wondering if you could review, rate, or even just listen to it. Here's a link: facebook.com/esther801music

| Banion I still see you, inside of this god awful house. You move awfully quiet now. And I still feel you everywhere. You told me this has always been worth living. What's really worth living anymore?
| cvlts gone but never forgotten. RIP dude
| Transient finally listened to polar life and it's awesome, wish i'd listened to it earlier so i could've thanked you for introducing me to it :'(

| DiceMan Hope theres post rock wherever you are.
| BigTuna RIP my good man. Thank you for the recs, and for allowing your goodness to shine through, even over the internet.

| Jash R.I.P. Bro, you won't be forgotten

| Masochist For Sigur Ros, thank you, sir...and good night.
| Hawks I really didn't know you dude, but Rest In Peace.
| Yazz_Flute I too, feel as if I have lost a friend. It's a shame you won't be able to see how much everyone truly is going to miss you, whether it be through something as (not)palpable as a music site or the many whom I am certain you affected even more greatly in real life. RIP
| cvlts May you find peace, bro.
| AnotherBrick RIP dude. listening to Sleepingdog for you. even though i didnt know you personally i felt like i lost a friend.
| Enotron R.I.P. Brandon. Based on our interactions, you were a very sweet fellow with an excellent music taste and it's saddening to see that your time has past so early.
| X3ni92 http://www.sputnikmusic.com/bands.php?bandid=20731 that's what #1 on my list is.
| fr33convict I don't remember asking for Ambient Metal... But thanks nonetheless. I'll see if I can find them before I ask you for help :)
| SeaAnemone I think my favorite is My Funeral Rehearsal, but a lot of them blended together, in a good way
| SeaAnemone soooo Matryoshka-- I have mixed feelings... it was difficult to listen to, if only because I had to stop listening because it gave me the urge to listen to Storm and Stress... but I came away every time with mixed feelings. I loved the parts with vocals, but it didn't really keep my attention for other parts... personal preference I guess. Much of it was very interesting though, thanks for the rec
| SeaAnemone interesting on first impression... let me give it another listen and get back to you, thanks for the reminder!
| Jash Hey man, I just read your list and found out you were/are in the hospital. Hope you're alright bro, the hospital sucks!0
| Ire I see you've been listening to the Alcest album. That's sexy.
| tombits http://www.mediafire.com/?yzzzymmtnqt
| tombits I'll upload it for you now man. It's eight songs from the album that are just him and his guitar. You'd be suprised how well some songs work without all the additional instrumentation ("The Devil Never Sleeps" and "Lovesong of the Buzzard" especially). "Resurrection Fern" is just brilliant.
| silentpotato if that doesn't work out ill make sure to tell you how awesome it was :)
| silentpotato haha yeah man, but republik is unbelievably easy to get into. just borrow a 18 yr old friends id who has the same hair color as u and your set. it really is that easy.
| FreePizzaDay Yeah, I will almost certainly be checking that out before the end of summer. Should I listen to that one first? And is their other stuff worth checking out as well?
| silentpotato hello my fellow calgarian. hopefully ill see you at boris and red sparowes but i hate to say it, republik is 18 90% of the time
| SeaAnemone ah yeah I wouldn't mind it all man... ummm I'll be leaving in a little but I may have some time to get it back to you later this afternoon or evening if that's ok? you can send it to my email--emloose@loyola.edu--whenever man.
| SeaAnemone they sound very Asian, I'll check em out!
| SeaAnemone thanks man... and no, there's no way I could forgot one of my main sources for great post-rock! :)
| Jash hey man, i just made a list of Mono's setlist from when i saw em the other night if you wanna check it out. the show was amazing
| Enotron Thanks a lot dude. For some godawful reason it only has 5 of the tracks, but it's really awesome.
| Enotron Hey man, can you send me a download link for that rosetta album?
| IanDavila Daniel Bjarnason's processions : http://www.mediafire.com/?gn4n2w02i5m
| SeaAnemone check out any of those albums I rec'd you by any chance?
| IanDavila hey, sorry silence, i cant find anywhere a good zip file link, just in rar. but ill lent you knonw if i found one dude, here is one in rar. http://depositfiles.com/es/files/ab2yiowg4
| Prophet178 New Year of No Light: http://www.mediafire.com/?iwzmznzjjjz
| Ire yeah i'm not surprised, but garage band gets the job done imo.
| zinnyzxx Your mislead by thinking day of fire's losing all is a bad album. Listen to "Hey You" or "We are no one"
| Banion wanna have a bromance? ;)
| Jash i just put the setlist from jonsi last night up in my lists if you wanna check it out, amazing show. i was leaning against the stage the whole time right infront of Jonsi
| Plutonio yah mafia wars does some crazy ass s***.
| Plutonio i don't believe in facebook. since my friends got it they all became meth addicts. no lie.
| Plutonio but otherwise, my friend morgan and I do a bunch of post-rock with a tinge of black metal and emo... and my friend tiffany and i do improv ambient/neoclassical. Do you do anything else?
| Plutonio sure... as long as they aren't paolini bad. my song is an instrumental ambient thing with viola, violin, and piano (the last part doesn't do s*** in all honesty, just sounds like raindrops, which was the scape of the song)
| Plutonio wow i sound like im on acid dont i
| Plutonio "Lo and Behold! Clear Elegy of the Wayfarer". It's not particularly drone, but it's pretty ****ing close. I wish I was able to put it on CD form, or even upload online, but i wrote it on my band teacher's finale program.
| Plutonio yeah... william basinski is better though. When I listen to his music, I feel as though I am literally a part of every note that passes my ears. It's a note with a color and shape and feel and emotion all its own, and no matter how hard I try to ignore it, it intrigues me so. When I listen to his music I feel as though I am closer to understanding the universe, as though each note subdues me with infinite knowledge and such. It is beautiful. In fact, he inspired me to create my own song,
| TheSpirit Arcana Coelestia-Le Mirage de l'Idéal
| TheSpirit Ever check out that Drowning the Light album?
| Douglas hey man check my latest review, you may like it a lot
| Jash the vogue theatre in vancouver, then two days later im seeing the dillinger escape plan, its gonna be rad
| Jash did i mention that im going to see Jonsi in just over a week?!?!
| Edwin Thanks, will do. You should check out.. um.. House Vs. Hurricane, mainly because I'm seeing them Wednesday night. Good to hear things are okay, gf's are usually a big help. I've got a fair bit of uni work at the moment, which tends to ignite this lovely disorder we're both blessed with. Where are you from?
| Edwin Oh hold up, I know what list you're talking about now. I got the Grouper record and the Tiny Vipers one, given both a few listens and all is swell. How's things?
| Edwin Hey man, which list are you talking about? The angry one? Because I checked out Intronaut and remembered to get some Gaza because of that one haha. Or did you mean another list?
| Knott- listening again nowwwwwwwwwwwwwww
| Banion douche ;)i made a list just for you, be proud.
| eternium Yeah, I've heard them. Pretty good.
| eternium Wait, do you mean bad in the literal way? The vocals aren't the focal point anyway, it's mostly about the crushing music. Unsane and Electric Wizard are other bands you should try.
| Xenophanes mad props on liking Jonsi. Im about to bump to a 4.5 myself. I know music is objective and all that s***, but Im not sure why sputnik isn't digging it more :(
| Jash however you get the jonsi album to me, i dont care i just need it!!!! hahha
| Prophet178 Haha, I guess have I have to listen to it more, nothing really popped out the first time.
| Douglas hey thanks buddy! yeah i have given it a listen, enjoying it oh so much, i have been running naked non stop since hearing it hahaha
| thediamondcanopy Hey man, I was looking at some person's list and you said something about when you make mix CDs you like to have a flow and atmosphere....I like that. Props.
| Jash do you have the whole album already?!?! if you do can you pleaseeeeeeee send it to me joshfrazer_13@hotmail.com
| Jash hey brah, i just bought Joanna Newsom's "Have One On Me" and its a killer album, you should check it out. also, i got a ticket to see Jonsi on april 7th, im soooooooooooooooo stoked!
| Gyromania I can likely relate...this past year has been awful.
| IanDavila yeah, a 5 in the first listen, i ve never expect this can top any sigur ros release, i was sceptic about it but jonsi take the soul of sigur ros to a new level of genius, textures, brillant soundscapes and magic, its a neo classic
| IanDavila OMG!!!!!! this is freakin awesome!, tornado is so beautiful, i ve just listened to 4 new songs i havent listened before and i can call it album of the year!
| IanDavila Thank you silence, im listening to it right now
| IanDavila hey silence, is jonsi laked alredy? where did you listen that songs
| SeaAnemone hey I stumbled across this new ambient release I think you might like...Loscil - Endless Falls://holy****ings***40000.blogspot.com/2010/02/loscil-endless-falls-2010-160.html
| Plutonio M83, Bright Eyes, and Thy Mighty Contract are simple. BTW you're the third person who's told me that.
| Plutonio Omigod you are my new favorite user because you like stars of the lid i am so jealous
| cirq alfheimr - these songs we sing....
get that!
| iBosley Yeah dude its pretty sweet. They have any other stuff than the two albums in the database?
| iBosley eh take every advantage you can get!
| iBosley Lol no hard feelings, though I doubt I could kick your (or anyones) ass... I'm scrawny as ****
| iBosley Haha actually I occasionally listen to stuff like Mono and GY!BE so this should be cool. I've heard the name Glissando tossed around for a while now, just never decided to check them out. Can't really go wrong with a free EP!
| iBosley Hmm... sounds more along the lines of Rosetta and Cult of Luna (who are both awesome). Actually sounds pretty sick. Most helpful guy on Sputnik! :)
| iBosley Hey thanks for the rec man. Nord is some really great s***...ive been diggin sludgy post metal stuff lately and that was right up my alley!
| TheSpirit No problem. I don't see a reason why wouldn't like it, it's a great album. If you want some more atmospheric black metal, just lettme know.
| TheSpirit It's atmospheric black metal. It's probably not your cup of tea judging by your ratings, but its pretty accessible and has some great moments, so i would suggest checking it out anyway.
| cirq yea, i like them.. i dont have the live ep tho
| cirq Ah I got one of their cds and I like it so I'll def check it out
| cirq Hah fersher... Let me know what you think of that band too
| cirq You never joined the blog! Btw, check out daturah
| BigTuna Yeah, it leaked like a week ago. It's fantastic imo. I love it at the moment. The vocals do take a bit to get used to (mainly because there actually ARE vocals) but I think the album definitely retains its Eluviumness. Which is what I'll say if I write a review.
| Jash im glad you got the SFTF reference! ill check out Brian McBride asap. if you gave it a 5 its gota be good. im really liking The Saddest Landscape right now, again, i checked it out because of your high praise and turns it out rocks
| Jash yeah, Vancouver is so amazing. its also kind of special in a way cause i live a ferry ride away from vancouver and i go there a lot so i know a lot about the town and what he's talking about in the songs. i'm stoked to hear your stuff. i have a couple bands if you wanna check them out, myspace.com/fadinglightsarefading myspace.com/slowdreams myspace.com/sprucemoose FLAF is my ambient project, Slow Dreams is my main musical outlet, Spruce Moose is my friends and i trying to do post-rock
| Jash i tried downloading the rar version of the Glissando album already but its password protected so i cant get the files =( i saw one of your lists where you asked about places to find speaches and stuff to put in your own music, you should send me over some of your own music, i'd love to hear it. joshfrazer_13@hotmail.com
| Jash hey, i cant find tha glissando album, do you think you could email it to me? that'd be very brotastic of you, thanks
| cirq heyopenyourmouth.blogspot.comi'll send you an email.. whats your address??
| cirq you wanna post music and whatnot on my blog?
| cirq come post s*** on openyourmouth!
| joshuatree Couldn't find anything either =( Found a few rar files, if you have WinRAR or something along those lines on your comp, but nothing as far as a zip file goes. sorry bro
| Jash sorry i havent emailed that album yet, ive been at my girlfriends house and the files are on my computer. i'll be home tomorrow or the next day and ill email it then if you still need it. im about to download those rec's you gave me, looking forward to it!
| DiceMan Ok I edited it, threw in some more stuff to make it look a little more flashy to support the 5'ing more, and also I put in a little bit about Fading In and Out and Maps. It amazes me that there is virtually no filler on that album.
| DiceMan Shall I? That makes complete sense, Idk though. Maybe I will I'll have to think about it.
| DiceMan Finished the review. I threw in some asanine part about cotton picking, I just wanted to describe how well the album fits into culture and hard work and s*** like that in America, cause that's just totally what the album screams to me. I don't think it'll result in a 5, but it's a goddamn solid 4.5.
| MassiveAttack and btw if you want to unzip that folder...download winrar. Its free and safe, download the free version on their website and you can unrar the file.
| MassiveAttack Get a copy of Imaginary Country, its a lot more digestible. I understand why you might veer away from it, it after all has tons of electronic drone. Seriously check out that album and if you don't enjoy it then its safe to say you're not a Hecker fan.
| DiceMan Oh... Sorry to spam your shoutbox, but I'll definitely check out Slowdive.
| DiceMan Yeah it is really a fantastic album. I was really thinking a 4.5 or so but I'm gonna give it a while and see if it grows to a 5 or something wierdo like that. I was looking for stuff that you didn't have rated lol, I guess I nearly failed ;-)
| DiceMan This didn't fit in the box, but if you want something folksy also you should definitely check out The House Of St. Colme Burnt Down by My Kappa Roots. It's gorgeous.
| DiceMan Thanks dude the feeling is entirely reciprocated. Lately I've been listening to The Snake The Cross The Crown but I saw that you had already rated it. I'll probably write a review for it, I feel very comfortable reviewing Indie/Folk bands over anything else. As for recs, if you like shoegaze you should check out My Bloody Valentine's Loveless cause it's fantastic. The Dillinger Escape Plan's Ire Works and also Calculating Infinity. They're a pretty great mathcore band.
| Jash funny thing is i found Polar Life by looking through your ratings, i also got into Trespassers William through you hahaha. i havent heard Azure Ray, should i look into them?
| Progmaster85 u dunno bout that but the best post rock out there
| Progmaster85 Lift your Skinny Fists is unbelievable. I hate however when people say Death Magnetic is s***. If "Day that Never Comes" is s*** than I guess I'm deaf.
| Jash i already have that album, so ill just make a zip copy of the folder and send it over
| Jash and yes i do know how to convert zip and rar. files. my life was so much better after i learned how hahaha
| MassiveAttack What the. Do you not like ambient / electronic albums?
| Jash yeah, that album is unreal. Untitled 9A is an alternate version of Untitled 1, but it took on a different sound. part of the Untitled 1 melody is used in 9A. glad you like it
| SeaAnemone here's a link to a zip...://www.mediafire.com/?mtmtx3jenyihope that helps.
| MassiveAttack An Imaginary Country: ://www.megaupload.com/?d=LXHNEM5S ; ENJOY!
| MassiveAttack No problem, I'll have An Imaginary Country up shortly (2 mins).
| MassiveAttack Yea it is. It has to be for me to upload it (one file allowed). Its a 7-zip format, you just unzip it like winrar or anything else.
| MassiveAttack Here is Harmony In Ultraviolet in a zip file. Just put in the verification code on the top right should start dlin'. ://www.megaupload.com/?d=OV222ZFE
| MassiveAttack OK well I was going to send you an invite for a private music tracker, but since you seem to be living at your university I'll just upload it on megaupload or some s***. I'll put up Harmony In Ultraviolet and An Imaginary Country.
| MassiveAttack If you know how to use torrents I can give you something even better!
| DiceMan Yeah dude no problem. Right now I'm trying to e-mail Illmatic to my brother, but it's being stupid and not letting me.
| DiceMan Oh, no I've never heard of them. I'll give them a listen though in the next week and let you know what I think though. I'm sure they're fantastic!
| DiceMan Yeah Stars has gotten up to my #9 on lastfm lol... I don't have enough time to relisten to them as of late though, I've got a bunch of newer stuff that I want to give a listen to. That's the burden of knowing about so much music, is remembering to listen to it all :P
| DiceMan As long as it was not ever a living breathing baby, and it was a doll of some sort, I give you my full permission to go babykicking. That album is fantastic.
