| Hawks Bro new RXKNephew is so ****ing great jam it hard!!
| Koris Thanks man, I really appreciate it. As I said earlier, I hadn't finished a poem in a long time, so it was nice to finally put something out again. This year has been kinda brutal mental health-wise, so having that sort of creative release is really cathartic. Especially when handling such personal topics :]
| artificialbox hell yeah :) I think there might be like 3 or 4 of us in total lol
| Hawks Bro it took me years, and I mean YEARS, to find one that worked for me. I'm on Tegretol and its literally like the 12th medication I've tried. Keep going bro. You will eventually find something that works I promise. I felt the same way for so long but it can get better.
| Hawks Checking it out now buddy!! I am doing very good lately. Got my ass on meds and they're helping a ton. Hope you're doing good too my brother!
| Hawks Gonna turn it on momentarily!!
| Hawks That 2 is hurting my soul. But yes I will czech indeed. Probably tonight I've been in a rap mood the past few days.
| Hawks It absolutely rulez.
| Hawks That new Ani DiFranco is pretty damn good bro.
| Hawks Bro check my new review. I think its something you'd love.
| Hawks Quiet the Room slayz.
| Hawks Yes bro still have it saved! Will def jam.
| Hawks It does rule indeed. Its pretty weird but in a great way lol.
| Hawks Gonna give that Ani DiFranco album a listen after work!
| Sinternet reminder to submit your album for build-an-album round 1 asap!
| Drifter sean t - straight from the streets
| Odal Of course! We all go through stuff and Angel's music has definitely hit me hard going through relationship stuff in the past. Keep on keeping on, man
| normaloctagon Yo do you produce or deejay? Would love to hear some of your stuff if you?re up for it
| unclereich that would be greta man thanks. yea cant find it anywhere. bro your prof pic is hilarious
| unclereich hey man you probably dont remember me but your turned me on to emay years ago, was wondering if you have a link to that Adam tape anywhere? thank you :]
| Rowan5215 thanks for the rec, I've got an ever growing list lmao but I'll definitely bump that one up high on it
| pizzamachine Lol no probs. Yeah old users are making a comeback, it rules
| pizzamachine I am doin fine per usual, and it?s good to see you round dese parts
| normaloctagon https://jonnyreebok.bandcamp.com/track/ghost-town-riddim
| normaloctagon indeed it does! great to connect. man, lots of stuff but right now what's really catching my ear is uk techno with plenty of forward moving swing, as well as danceable 140 bpm stuff that's influenced by dubstep, garage, breaks. for instance check this 1 out: https://forthemassive.bandcamp.com/track/rollin
| twlight hey bruh, you still around these parts?
| Deviant. Haven't spent too much time with it yet, but am definitely preferring it to their last release. More of a balance between the downtempo/trip hop stylings of Finest Hour and the more upbeat "poppy" stuff they've been leaning towards lately
| Deviant. Woah, Young Buck sighting. How goes the label game? And yeah, it's a solid little comp. I'm definitely digging it - Biome in particular has really stepped up his game recently. A lot of his bandcamp releases are really solid. And no, don't think I have. Though it rings a bell
| TMobotron hey, check out the new A/T/O/S album if you get time, I just put a review up for it (there's a stream in the first comment. I think you'll dig it.
| Deviant. I do definitely prefer part I but that's because I prefer Distance going hard and messing with his twisted guitar lines. But he still kills it with the flip release. Probably one of the few producers who can actually balance the heavy and melodic and drop gold standards in both areas
| Deviant. I left only to return more powerful and vengeful than ever
| clercqie Very nice. Going darker than on the previous output, I like it.
| TMobotron Haha dude i only saw the pre-orders because of your facebook post so I have you to thank for that. But definitely got it in time. Also that Wen release you just posted about is insane. Gotta grab that too. Stoked for the Midnight City release tomorrow man! Hope that all goes well.
| TMobotron Did you see that Mala - Changes (Distance RMX) and Mala - Miracles (Commodo RMX) is gonna be a medi release? SUCH a good release.
| clercqie Yeah, I can definitely get that. I'm only really talking to the small electronic crew around here anymore as well. Tbh, I expected something more after their Lioncharge release. Typical dungeon fodder, this latest. Still, very nice production value and it goes hard on a loud rig.
| clercqie Looking forward to MCR003 as well, shaping up to be a good one (obviously). Shame you're not around these parts too often anymore man.
| clercqie Yesss!!! Congrats on hitting the 300! :]
| clercqie Guess it's a VIP version now, then? :] Wow, sounds like a cool guy. He did a great job at least. In other news, I managed to grab me a LNCHG003 copy on Redeye still, wooo! And System003 is looking massive as well.
| clercqie Very nice! Who did the mastering? Hearing all kinds of subtleties that I missed on the last version I have.
| clercqie Nice work as usual btw. I'm getting the feeling your bass manipulations become stronger with each track.
| clercqie Sweet man!! :D On it for spreading it on 9Lives as usual. In the meantime, check out my latest dig, Vuurwerk, if you find the time. Stunning Belgian garage music.
| clercqie I ordered it, purely based on the Killawatt / Ipmann sample. Haven't heard the other but oh well. I need the 002! Prices on Discogs are insane already :( Stupid hype always attracting flippers...
| clercqie Damn the clip for Lionchg004 is epic. Preorders up at Surus: http://www.surus.co.uk/lion-charge-records/stand-firm-22971.aspx
| clercqie My record dealer was supposedly getting it in today, so I hope he actually did. Otherwise it's all Redeye for me from now on. Maaaassive tunes. And 004 already announced? Man, they're not wasting time. :] Oh, and I saw the Krease release on Juno, I'll probs get it as well. Got an idea for MCR03 already?
| clercqie Major props on the Gradient Audio release! Really love the evolution of Shut Your Eyes.
| Deviant. Got it sitting in my inbox, but haven't checked it out yet. Can't see it knocking out Machine Love though
| Deviant. Nah man, stay in Canada. I'm sure they've got great dubstep-centric clubs, right? Right??! Glad to hear you're having a blast man. Just make sure you leave some of your tunes lying around at the Rinse offices, y'know "by accident"
| TMobotron So, from what I can tell off my facebook feed, you may be in the middle of your life's greatest moment. Haha I relish the fun you're having dude, I hope the best for your trip it sounds ****ing awesome. Can't even imagine. But I also wanna whore out Old Apparatus's Compendium compilation to you if you haven't yet heard it. I just think it might fit your tastes really well. I'd love to hear your overall thoughts on the trip once you're home and settled into things though man. Peace!
| clercqie Wow! Tell him to play an iNTRiKeT tune. ;]
| clercqie System003: Asteroids VIP / Soundman VIP !!!!!!
| clercqie Damn... Did VIVEK brought his system rig?
| clercqie Yeah I know it really sucks for the labels and artists. Only got Return II Space really, because I can't find that anywhere but on Discogs so Mala wouldn't get a dime anyways... Still jealous! :] Mala in Cuba and Bonobo on Pukkelpop were godly though. You're in for a treat!
| clercqie I know I shouldn't have, but the Chemical sale was too good to pass up on. Definitely check it out, while it lasts! And have fun at Outlook man. :]
| clercqie No rush. But thanks! And gah, I'm so so jealous :p Luckily seeing Bonobo and the Mala in Cuba show this weekend will kind of make up for that.
| clercqie Just wondering if you listened to the link I sent you a couple of days earlier. I mean, I don't want to force you but it would be nice to give the guy some feedback, because I'm certain he could drop some awesome tunes in the future. :]
| twlight Hey buddy my EP "different waves" is in the database now if you wanna throw it a rating :)
| clercqie https://soundcloud.com/math/tibetan-dub This was the guy I was talking about. If you got some time, I'm sure he'd appreciate some words from another producer. :]
| clercqie Aight, will do. Thanks Jash. :] Guessing the ep will be up on Bandcamp tomorrow?
| clercqie Just heard the two other clips from your Summer EP for Midnight City, and I'm stoked beyond belief! Together with the Lion Charge releases I'm really really liking this kind-of reggae influenced direction for dubstep nowadays. God, I'm becoming such a fanboy. :]
| Aids man I haven't fagged out to post-rock in some time too busy HIP HOPPIN. and I don't hip hop like a flaggot lemme tell you wHat, I hip hop like a straight G
| clercqie Wow thanks man! Dev's got a point though ;] New Killawat is boss as well. Too much good stuff coming out. I'm behind of everything! :p
| Deviant. Maaan I can't get no time off work just for some moosestep. Gottta bring that show to me. But seriously, congrats dude - sounds like things are coming along nicely
| Deviant. HahaI actually downloaded that a few weeks back. Still haven't got round to it yet though; I'll change that soon. And what's this - a label head posting out dl links? For shame!
| TMobotron and not to flood you with s***, but if you liked Wen's Commotion EP you'll like Bloom's new EP quite a bit I think.
| TMobotron Hey I think I recommended you u-ziq on FB but I just put a review up earlier if you're still interested.
| TMobotron Dude that comp is pretty damn sweet and your track kills.
| clercqie I'm getting it, that's for sure. Really feeling the old-school vibe on Jah Know.
| clercqie s*** man, what a lovely clip. The Promo mix is stunning as well! Already shared it :] Is it a digital only release, I assume?
| clercqie Ah damn. 'twas Kaiju's Unity Dub, Lionsgate003 forthcoming. Massive tune. Really all their latest are. Oh, and they're looking for a label that wants to release their debut full length, so if you're feeling lucky... ;] And good luck with the label btw, I'm rooting for you man!
| clercqie https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded
| Deviant. Yeah, it's another solid Phaeleh release - it chills, it floats etc etc. But it's sweet as apple pie. And s***, congrats on the label man
| Deviant. New Phaeleh: http://www55.zippyshare.com/v/9998591/file.html
| clercqie From an acquaintance of mine: http://www.mixcloud.com/therapydubstep/bassweight-meditations-iv/ I know it's over a year old and I'm quite sure you already have all the tunes, but you'll probably like it anyways. :]
| clercqie 3.5 is a good rating. I like it very much, but I could do without all the vocal features tbh...
| Deviant. http://nowtf.com/desto-emptier-streets-rwinalp002-web-2013/
| Deviant. Now I gotta listen to new Desto's LP. A day doesn't go by where I don't dl something
| Deviant. I'd like to, because I think it's ****ing fantastic and such an improvement on the debut (which was still really good). I'm digging the ninja tune influence, like the whole organic Bonobo trip hop vibe. But I've got a few others I want to get down, and honestly getting back into reviewing mode is kind of kicking my ass at the moment
| Brostep also I bought the Groove Booty comp but my internet tanked as soon as the Paypal went through so I never received a download, so I emailed Chord Marauders and should have something pretty soon. If I don't get anything by Friday or so I'll just torrent it because I've already paid, though
| Brostep http://uktrends.bandcamp.com/album/inner-motion-epcheck it, seriously good grimy shiz
| Iluvatar "I dont get why everyones all up in arms over this. It sounds like Thrice with a whiney vocalist. "OMG IVE NEVER HEARD MUSIC LIKE THIS BEFORE, POST HARDCORE WITH TRIPPY KEYBOARDS", go listen to the Alchemy Index and stop jizzing already"maybe the worst soundoff of all time
| clercqie Yeah definitely. I always like compilations that feel more like actual artist albums instead of just lazily putting some tunes under one roof. And I sure as hell love the jazzy vibe on it.
| clercqie Damn that Groove Booty comp is suave!
| clercqie Kinda feels like doing homework again. So when's the test, haha? Cheers man.
| clercqie That Jafu EP does sound really good. Nice tip! No I haven't, but that's because you're the one who's constantly feeding me all this stuff. Many thanks for that though. ;]
| clercqie Sweet! You can count on my moneyz at least :]
| clercqie Yeah, the moodswings were one point of criticism I had for my review (spoilers!). It's a bit of a double-edged swords, isn't it? On the one hand, it makes the EP more diverse and less monotonous, but on the other hand, it results in a bit of a consistency drop. I can get that's a quite tricky balance to get right... Oh, please tell me Why is one of them? I'm definitely getting that on wax if it should get a release!
| clercqie Tbh, haven't written a word yet. :p First exams coming up from Monday on, so I'm kinda busy atm... Can't wait to hear the improvements, 'cause the "first draft" was already stunning. Keep it up man!
| clercqie Damn, if I wasn't so low on cash, I'd get it as well. Yeah, the bass on these tracks is the best he's ever done. And that's saying quite a lot. But it's his melodies that really get me. Also, don't forget new Phaeleh dropping in June! Such an amazing year already.
| clercqie Also, how ****ing magnificent is that Sorrow LP?
| clercqie Nope, it hasn't dropped on Nodata yet. But honestly, now that the new Mount Kimbie leaked I don't have much need for anything else this week.
| Brostep it appears we have much the same thoughts about the new alix perez
| Deviant. Got it from the label about a month ago ;) And yeah, but the digital version of Summer Of Love came with 6 extra tracks so it's "kind of" an LP
| clercqie Gotta tell you that my comp crashed Monday and I kinda lost the draft of your review :-/ I'll try to rewrite it as soon as possible.
| clercqie Woah, massive thanks man. And happy (hungover) birthday! Hope you had fun last night. Digging the Mala remix more and more btw.
| fromtheinside i'd **** you but not on sunday. hope that was straight enough
| clercqie How did I never hear that Distance remix? Damn!
| clercqie Dangerous choice for a remix. I'll have to hear the full clip to form a definite opinion, but - and you probably know this as well - it can't top the original. I like it better than the Harmonimix though. And Soundboy is sounding good!
| clercqie Sounds good! As long as you don't tweak too much about Why because that track is already pretty much perfect. I demand a vinyl release! :]
| Brostep https://soundcloud.com/critical-music/sets/emperor-begin-ep-crit070holee s***
| HighandDriving And ya I compress like a motha****a. Almost everything compressed triggered by the BD.
| HighandDriving Send me the stems. I make bad disco house. I'll do a remix and the review site can circle jerk to it.
| HighandDriving A lot of my ratings are mad old since I've been on this site before you even heard of bass music. If it's 4.5 it must be for his debut which is worthy, along with being the only good thing he has put out.
| Adabelle Nope, I would hack a leg off for one though hahaha
| clercqie No More? Yeah, it's a good release. Pretty, chill stuff.
| clercqie I don't do facebook ;) I'll send you a Last.fm pm, alright?
| Iluvatar new blake doesnt bring the wubs hard enough for jashstep =(
| clercqie Yeah it isn't all that spectacular. But the drums are pretty good though, and I like the techy vibe.
| Aids just the LP but I loooooved it. dl'd the EP (single, whatever) already.
| Aids DJ Madd oh my god I'm in love
| Brostep Ah yeah I see what you mean. I hate sites that do that, one of the reasons I almost always buy from Surus (plus their customer support is seriously top-notch, they sent me the wrong Enei item and ended up sending me the right one as extra for no additional charge). I may end up buying the vinyl, but I'm waiting for my next paycheck first.
| Brostep I know some sites give you like 5 dl's of that stuff - do you have any you'd be willing to give me? No need of course but it would be awesome
| Brostep Do you have any stream for the SP:MC thing? I've listened to the previews a bunch but since it's not yet on Spotify I don't really want to pay 7 dollars for 4 tracks.
| clercqie Well as long as you get drunk together. :] Congrats, btw!
| clercqie Lol, it's Wednesday. You got some drinking issues man? :p It's my latest list, so you can just click on my profile as well. http://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?memberid=512687
| Brostep He's coming to my town this month but it's a 21 concert so I can't go unfortunately. Huge release, though, at least on par with that Kahn jazz
| Brostep One more post: check this. http://greniermusic.com/album/voids-three If you remember Rivet by DJG (off of GetDarker last year or so) this is the same guy, plus I can never say no to 13 tracks for free
| Brostep Awesome, I'll be eagerly awaiting them.
| Brostep Also Jonny linked me a code for the new James Blake so I'll give that a listen pretty soon as well.
| Brostep It's insanely good, reminds me of some classic Mala at times. I love the way Kahn takes the tempo down for the second half and makes the bass just worm straight into your head. I think the 2:30 final two songs are kinda weirdly short but that's not terrible tbh. Good stuff
| Brostep Few things: 1. Now that SYSTEM has been established, you should totally send in some of your tunes. Couldn't hurt, right? 2. Not really feeling the new SP:MC to be quite honest, it just sounds like stuff that's already been done before (though I'd put it at around a 3.2 right now, may get better with time). 3. New Kahn is HUGE, seriously go check that if you haven't yet. Gonna review it, at least a 4 for me immediately with a chance to go up.
| Typhoner damn, my latest review feels so lonely
| Aids lemme know when the SP:MC EP surfaces BRO. (previews are for the weak)
| Rev thanks bro! and yeah, I haven't given it a full dedicated listen yet but the bits and pieces I've spun are fantastic. and yeah I saw you posted that I just haven't gotten time to go through it all haha, will do though, it's a bomb list
| Brostep Awesome, thanks a ton. Still getting through those Medi recs but 004 is glorious
| clercqie LDN VIP is awesome, thanks for the rec man. And props on your mix. Definitely one of the more interesting ones I've heard in a while. Your track choices and mixing skills are very impressive. You mix live, or do you use ableton and the like?
| Brostep https://soundcloud.com/trusikdubstep/sp-mc-declassified-ep-tempa075new sp:mc previews up
| clercqie Sweet, thanks man. Just dl'ed it and I'm gonna give it an attantive spin tomorrow. Only Keysound release I heard so far was the LHF debut and that was definitely one of my favorite dubstep releases in a long time. Needless to say, I've kind of big expectations for this.
| clercqie What comp are we talking about here?
| Aids haha, damn straight. related: I couldn't find Changes/Whatever Else (that allegedly classic Mala release) on freakenergy. help?
| Aids haha, I see you spun your V.I.V.E.K vinyl then eh? easy 4.5 man, it's just silly how good it is. Yeah, silly, super duper silly.
| Yuli Hey man, what introductory dubstep albums would you recommend? Maybe just the 3 most important, for starters.
| Brostep Sounds awesome - thanks so much for the recs! Will check them out
| Brostep Awesome, love me some SP:MC
| Brostep Don't use torrents, but I have something similar to Spotify Premium so I'll be able to download whatever for free, so anything is fine. And the new Tempa seems insanely good. Is the new Amit available to download/stream yet?
| Brostep Would you mind giving me some Deep Medi recs? I'm just starting to get into them and Tempa but while I can get that 50 Tracks Of Tempa download from Bleep I don't have anything similar for Deep Medi (I think). I've loved everything Swindle has put out, I've loved the Kahn single, I've loved that Tunnidge EP, and that's about all I know. Where do I go from here?
| Aids I mean I guess I just don't really know enough about how recording/pressing/sound systems work to really argue with him, but he seems to know his stuff. There is probably a lot of truth to what he is saying cause he wouldn't just talk s***, but I'm skeptical. All I know is Kindred on Wax is the best anything ever.
| Aids i know it's the same song twice (more or less), but I'm still really surprised you didn't give the V.I.V.E.K. release a 4.5. I probably will, and I only have one other deepdarkdubstep ep with that rating (Lie Detection/Brainstem). Also, holy f*ck SP:MC is so good. Both those EPs are like 4.249999999999999999/5 for me.
| Typhoner Oh, I'm not too familiar with all their more recent tracks. What I heard does sound cool though, so I'll definitely check it out when it is released.
| Typhoner Do you already have the new Kryptic Minds, or is your rating entirely based on the preview clips?
| clercqie Mine's hopefully coming in next week or so. Yeah for reals, although the second track might be even better.
| clercqie https://soundcloud.com/kryptic-minds/sets/kryptic-minds-namaste-ep-1 Sick sick sick
| TMobotron This track you sent me on facebook ****ing rules dude.
| Deviant. 'Goto 10' feels like it's just going to swallow my room every time it comes on. Oh yeah, about your earlier post: just keep it low key, and make sure only the regulars know about/can get into it. keep it in the fam and make it a scared event. And make sure to play 'Swims' at least 3 times
| TMobotron Sent my man. Always room in these ear pussies for some iNTRiKeT.
| TMobotron Haha well actually, in that case, I'll probably just avoid it :).
| TMobotron The one you posted in the thread for it? I just listened to it before I made my post, yeah dude it sounds ****ing sick. Make someone master Giant Sun now! :). Oh BTW dude, I never listened to your EP... how do you feel about it compared to your album?
| Deviant. Yeah, and that's pretty cool (except for Biome haha), and while I hope you have a great time there, to me all that kind of stuff is kinda superfluous. Location means nothing to me; best nights had have been in abandoned buildings wired up to borrowed generators - dancing on a boat would just make me sea sick anyway!
| Deviant. It's a good lineup, but outside of Boddika I've seen them all live before, and I've seen Boddika when he Instra:mental was still a thing. You're going?
| TMobotron Sweet! Going right into Silo Pass at the end there. Lovin Kahn's output. Did that siren immediately make you think Cockney Thug like it did for me?
| TMobotron Really Digging that "Hyperreal" track now that I'm getting a chance to listen to these BTW.
| TMobotron Yeah though not until that YT vid of it surfaced. Cool track but no variation could ever touch the original IMO.
| TMobotron Nice I bought chemicals last vinyl of dem a talk. I'll def check the tracks out when I get a chance I'm on my phone ATM. Ill let you know what I think. Cheers.
| TMobotron Dude check out TMSV's Dem A Talk if you haven't. I'm really diggin it.
| Typhoner haha, thanks! I need to thank (mostly) Deviant and willie for the stuff I'm currently listening to. A year ago, I really didn't know... anything, this site really shaped my taste.
| Aids 3.5 omg friends off. seriously, i'm selling your aof ticket. just wait, I think im gonna review it and ohhhhhh man am I ever gonna get some negs.
| Deviant. Wanted to gif the whole video, but it was too big :(
| breakingthefragile You know I wasn't serious when I made that comment right? It was a joke, even if it was a terrible one, but it was supposed to be lol.
| anarchistfish That's cool, I like that organic drum sound in electronic music
| anarchistfish hey, your album sounds pretty cool and I wouldn't really call myself a massive fan of electronic music in the first place apart from a few artists here and there. I was just wondering, how did you know where to start with actually producing the music and with what equipment/software to use?
| mindleviticus So I checked out a bit of your album and my god I didn't know you were so good. Haven't listened to it in full but it is so good man. I've made an EP and released it earily this november and Paperbackwriter reviewed. If you want to check it out, just type in Jake Hollis in the search:]
| MO just wanted to drop in and let you know that Giant Sun is an amazing song, good work man
| StrangerofSorts Probably not going to end up reviewing it, but just wanted to say great work on The Woods. Can see it being top 50 this year for sure (:
| TMobotron Yeah dude hook me up with a link this sounds really awesome but all I listened to was the youtube samples they put up, couldn't find a link.
| TMobotron He's alright from what I've heard, I'm not a huge fan at this point but I'll check the EP out.
| TMobotron Awesome thanks dude. I got the vinyl on its way and should have it soon so I'm probs gonna hold out but I appreciate it. I'm stoked Stand against war rules do hard.
| Yuli Absolutely! The main argument surrounding the album is that it's a beginner's hardcore album, and I'm not sure that should be considered a fault. It's tough though, because I know that my opinion on Skrillex went downhill the instant I heard other dubstep. In that instance, the "beginner's" album really wasn't anything special. But I'll be damned if ED
| Yuli Hey man, nice to see your positive sound-off on the newest Defeater album. Awesome record, I hate that people only talk about it being overrated.
| Deviant. Yeah man I can do that. Good to see it's coming along :)
| Deviant. Album has leaked for all of 10 minutes and it already has blood on its hands
| Deviant. Would check out but currently musesteppin'
| Deviant. Yeah, he's really only started to get attention recently, despite the fact that he's been pretty prolific over a reasonably short period of time. You should definitely check out his earlier stuff; like I said, The Prologue is a mind blowing release (even though you've now heard it via Selected Visualizations)
| Jash for pres 2012
| Deviant. Really? The album is just a comp of some of his best stuff (hence the name), have you only checked him out recently?
