| Yuli Funny, I'm going to be in Sandy Springs today! I have a friend that's having a birthday party over in that area at his brother's apartment. And haha yes, that one :]
| Yuli My parents are in Forsyth, and I go to school in Dahlonega, up at North Georgia. And judging from your profile pic you may be interested in the album I just reviewed! :]
| Yuli someone else from Atlanta?
| aok wait - which one's pit's main then?
| aok maintain like 18 accounts -- i'd probably have developed a split personality by now
| aok don't know how you do it

| whywontyoudie Exact same situation here. Just don't want any sputbuds gettin hurt
| whywontyoudie Man, how was the weather for you yesterday? I know you and eternium are in the atl area so how bad was the storm? Any tornadoes?
| whywontyoudie i'm from Rome actually, only about an hour away. Some Mistakes' guitarist and my friend Micheal (guitar for Tir Asleen) run a GA hardcore forum, so needless to say i got into them fast.
| ThePrince1993 Yeah man I see where you are coming from. Some songs his lyrics could be way better. I have always liked his vocal style though, and so I really liked that he tried something new. Instrumentally this was their best album.

| Spec **** it. I don't want these assholes picks haha, thanks for trying though. Be prepared for an epic 100 list soon.
| eternium Deathbed's recordings are really impressive too. Antpile's are decent but they're still so amazing live. Some Mistakes' EP is excellent quality too and they're probably my favorite local band.

| eternium Dude, once you left this crazy ass band came on. Dead in the Dirt. Like, power violence, crust punk, intense as hell. It was insanity. I bought a shirt and CD as soon as they finished.
| eternium I'm currently trying to talk the same people I've been "band talking" with into going with me.
| eternium Pretty broad range of what hardcore can bring. I googled the address and it seems to be at a strip mall.
| eternium I'm pretty sure it's inside. You should check out Undertaker, Harsh Truth, and some of the other bands too. Deathbed is also awesome, pretty much worshipping '90s hardcore.
| eternium Some Mistakes has their own band page and so does Antpile. Deathbed is about to have demos up but I doubt before the show. There's links on the event page on Facebook I think.
| eternium Definitely wearing my Calculating Infinity hoodie thanks to the cold. It's a hardcore show, it's a huge hang out. Saw Bad last Friday and they're a pretty decent straight forward hardcore band.
| eternium I'm leaving for the place right after I get out of school and will have to leave when it's done. Probably gonna wear a band shirt but I haven't decided what band.
| eternium Oh yeah. It's an individually owned venue, none of that corporate crap with corporate rules.
| eternium You still planning on going? It's this Friday.
| eternium Road trips are always fun. I've seen half of the bands that are playing so I can promise you a good time.
| Kimm Haha yeah I saw Pittman and instantly made the connection.
| Kimm Hey brah. Thanks for the Happy Birthday shout. My day was pretty awesome. How are you doing? Bad Friday I see. Hopefully the rest of the weekend is good to you.
| BigTuna http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/8696/The-String-Quartet-Tribute-to-The-Mars-Volta/ there you go man
| fr33convict oh. idk. it's moments that are kinda NIN but it's mainly inspired by Above
| fr33convict when it's all done. i got a bunch of people immediately and then no one else joined up :(
| fr33convict i doubt anyone on there is besides waior haha. and it's a doomy katatonia inspired alternative song.
| fr33convict look at my newest list. i wrote six songs and am trying to get six sputnikers to record their vocals.
| fr33convict waiting for responses from the vocalists for the "fantastical sputnik collaboration".
| ShadowAmI if you're asking whether either/or is similar to elliott smith's s/t then yeah, either/or is probably his closest sounding to the s/t. i think either/or is a little bit poppy compared to the self titled while the self titled is raw emotion. you definitely need to listen to it either way its basically perfect.
| Kimm Rhapsody of Fire is cool. A friend showed them to me a while ago, they have a really unique sound! Check out their song Rain of a Thousand Flames.
| Kimm Aletheian, Extol, Rhapsody of Fire.
Get to it, my friend.
| Kimm I love metalcore. I mean, a lot of people say the music I listen to is generic, and to be honest, a lot of it is.
But who cares? If a band like As I Lay Dying is considered generic, then by all means I will listen to generic music.
Check out my last note and tell me what you think of those bands?
| Kimm Yep. I agree. I think a lot of people from my parents' generation think of metal as it was when it first became a "thing" you know? I think that my parents in particular think "Black Sabbath" right away haha. But I mean, why can't a band take a style of music that reaches to a lot of kids and offer a message of a godly worldview and a Christ centered message rather than one of anger and despair? I think it's great.
| Kimm Some people do. I wouldn't say my church necessarily has a stance on it, although I'm sure the general concensus would be that it isn't more or less beneficial.
It's been a huge debate between my parents and I since I got into it. Personally I don't care. I don't follow everything that my particular church teaches, I follow what God's Word leads me to believe. I think with touchy issues as Christian metal, there is room for personal discretion and speculation.
| Kimm I apologize for the poor spelling and grammar in my last post...I'm really tired.
| Kimm It's very much focussed on biblical worship and teachings. Which is surprisingly not the primary focus of most churches today. Sundays we have church kn the morning and the evening, we believe in the Sabbath so no work or shopping etc. We songs hymns in church, most people wear a suit or a skirt or dress or whatever. It sounds different when I explain it haha but yeah it's much more structured and based on theology. A lot of churches seem tothink that doctrine isn't important.
| Kimm United Reformed. And before we stumble into any common misconceptions, NO that is not the same as United. It's very traditional.
| Kimm It's not too personal at all. General though. What would you like to know?
| Kimm I think you'd be quite surprised actually.
| Kimm Hey it's Kimmypants I made a new account. Four of my six lists got taken down sooo yeah. It's good to know you're a Christian too! I wish more people could see the truth of who we are.
| Kimmypants I'm not sure who they were with man. But I would have gone regardless just to see Thrice had I been able to. It seems the best shows always happen when I'm out of town.
Missed August Burns Red because I was in Seattle when they came to my city.
| climactic s*** you're right I thought you could send videos but you can only send photos
| climactic Yeah do you have AIM? Might make things easier
| eternium Mainly yeah. Yours is good, especially the intro, but some parts are off for sure. Try a mix between that tab and what you did.
| eternium ...that's like completely different from how I play it.
| climactic Well, I learned it, I don't know how we're gonna record them and put them together though
| fromtheinside http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/32618/Mastodon-Blood-Mountain/
| climactic Idk I like Fortress better, but I've also listened to it a hell of a lot more
| climactic Yeah it doesn't seem too hard but it's great
| climactic I know Bloodmeat and Sequoia Throne perfectly, and was gonna start learning Heretics and Killers tomorrow
| climactic Oh man that'd be sweet, I'll look into it
| climactic Nah I don't but it's probably not too hard to find one
| climactic Gotcha. I've been meaning to put up some Protest the Hero drum covers, I'll let you know when/if I do.
| climactic The Selkies cover is awesome! Only constructive criticism I got is: work on the bends during the solo, and turn up when you record covers, it was hard to hear your guitar during the heavy parts. I know Blood Red Summer on guitar too hahah it's so easy but fun
| Realm TODAY IS ANIMAL COLLECTIVE DAY. TELL EVERYBODY BECAUSE YOU KNOW CLAUDIO TOTALLY WOULD.
| climactic Hell yeah bro I'll look at your youtube
| Zizzer Yeah, all three are albums that have grown on me from "meh" to awesome. It's the kind of music that is better when you know what's coming up next if that makes sense.
| Zizzer For The National start with Alligator, then Boxer, then High Violet. All three are very very good and the reason I recommend them in that order is because they each kind of represent a particular time in life starting with late adolescence in Alligator.
| eternium Welcome. Just tell me what you think and if you want more after listening a few times.
| eternium Just go with those post-metal albums first. Neurosis - Given to the Rising would be a good start.
| eternium The genre as a whole is definitely a grower. Maybe you should get into metal a little more and then try The Ocean again. Precambrian is a masterpiece imo, even though it's not as important as the other albums I listed.
| eternium The vocals take getting used to. If you can handle Jacob Bannon, you can handle Aaron Turner. Eventually you learn to love the power of the vocals. Essential post-metal albums include Panopticon and Oceanic by Isis, Salvation by Cult of Luna, and a good dose of Neurosis.
| eternium Did you ever listen to that Isis album? You need post-metal!
| eternium I don't think you NEED a head, cab, and PA, but I dunno. There's honestly nothing that I want to do more than make music and I'll be happy as long as I have enough money to live off of. If I do production at AIM, then I should be able to do that at a small label/studio, hopefully, if I don't already have a band going.
| eternium I just kind of hope that I'll have some kind of income for better guitar stuff and somewhere to live. I highly doubt the school can hook people up with jobs, like the website says, in this economy.
| eternium Still gotta finish my last year of high school, which just began today. Then maybe we'll be schoolmates.
| eternium Oh yeah, I've been there a few times.
| eternium Gainesville, which is about 50 miles north of Atlanta.
| eternium All I have is my guitars, my amp, a couple of pedals, and a keyboard that I don't know how to play.
| eternium Jesus that's a lot of pedals. You should really try getting a tube amp. Probably a good idea to get a cab and then get a decent tube head when you can. That's what I've been thinking about doing, being that I don't have a job.
| eternium Isis - Panopticon, listen as soon as you can. I'd have more pedals if I could afford it. I've been debating on getting a cab or not, since my amp is a Peavey ValveKing 112 combo. It's loud as s***, but I don't know if it's loud enough to gig since I never have before. Other than that, I want a DL4 for delay and a Boss RV-5 for reverb. I have a noise suppressor and chorus pedal.
| eternium That is a lot like what I want to do. A diverse band, but something that basically explores metalcore (the Converge/Botch kind) and post-metal. Something that would allow fast, dissonant, and heavy music to work beside the slow, pretty, and atmospheric, often mixing those adjectives.
| eternium What kind of music is it that you want to play?
| bailar11 oh yes. you know the of the enrique well. enrique will release that album when he finishes his touring for the pcoming crunkcore one. the music is all made, it just needs to be released slowly to the public, for they cant handle so much new enrique at once.
| bailar11 yes i am. seemed more appropriate to leave you a shout. much better than a plain old comment in a thread.
| bailar11 naw it was a bug in the old system that let you make reviews that rating.
| Ire las vegas, august 13th
| Ire i'm going to see coheed in august. i'm going to make a shirt with that graphic.
| Ire i dun git it
