| tekight thanks for the recommendation
|
| Athom I don't really listen to a lot of technical music anymore, but i would say Jeff Loomis and Ben Weinman. it's all subjective though.

| BallsToTheWall Are you really a Hotshot Vegetarian? If so, that's pretty zazzy.

| ThePrimer **** yeah lol, I like EITS a lot :p
|
| tekight check out the album Element Eighty (but don't go into it expecting mastered solos or anything)

| Crysis ... "Sheol" and "Harvest" by Naglfar, the later works by Immortal, "The Womb Of Primordial Nature" by October Falls, and if you're feeling adventurous try "Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk" by Emperor and "Microcosmos" by Drudkh... also, Dissections final album "Reinkaos" has great guitar work and an awesome production, but it swings more toward death metal so I'd also recommend that album for death metal. Hope this helps!

| Crysis As for black metal, this is a bit harder since you said you like "cleaner, tighter metal as opposed to the muddier guys" which is hard in black metal since s***ty production is a staple of the genre, and technical guitar work is hard to come by. However, there are a few bands out there. Go for Dissection (namely "The Somberlain" and "Storm Of The Light's Bane"), anything by Catamenia and Gorgoroth's new album "Quantos Possunt Ad Satanitatem Trahunt" has a clean production and some great riffs...

| Crysis No problem, man. For Death Metal, especially with technical guitar work and pretty clean sound go for Insomnium (any album), Gojira has some really technical riffs, Kalmah if you want to try a band which uses keyboards a lot too, Arghoslent, Bloodbath, and Dark Tranquillity should get you on your way.

| R6Rider check out Insomnium's first album, In The Halls Of Waiting
