| random I know your real identity face now, and you look like the YouTube music reviewer ?Crash Thompson?. Unlike him though, you aren?t bisexual.
| YankeeDudel Hope you?re still cocking out with your rocks out!
| random Have you heard of the stoner metal band Scissorfight? They?re manly metal from New Hampshire.
| random https://open.spotify.com/album/2qE2Xvp8po3T2NEWGY8YY3?si=BnkB9Wi2TpOkvH1yBXh5dg
| random May I please recommend a band that just straight out jams hard? The Headstones. They?re Canadian (as am I) And they toured with our most beloved band, The Tragically Hip.
| Minushuman24 Luckily it's postponed. I haven't beend on when the show will be--but it's probably in the fall. From the way that my company is e-mailing me, it looks like First Ave isn't gonna have shows until at least June. Hopefully Gully Boys still open for Hold Steady when the show gets rescheduled, huge break for them.
| Atari love that Therapy? album you rec'd me!! I still think the vocalist sounds like some classic thrash bands at time. is there more than one vocalist or is he just insanely diverse?
| random I would think the chorus of Chingy?s ?Right Thurr? would be really fun to rap while drunk. Also, great taste as of late! Dinosaur Jr. and Liz Phair!
| zakalwe Went for the old 2.5 for Sandinista, generous. One of my favourite bands of all time but Christ they churned out some turd.
| Atari right on, haha. yeah this Iron Chic is legit!! no matter how much time I devote to my music addiction there are always albums I'm missing so thanks again
| Atari yo, my Latterman binge came to an end for now so I will def check out that Iron Chic :) cheers!
| parksungjoon https://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?memberid=1034220
| Atari the Latterman kicks so much ass! it's like Hot Water Music meets Jeff Rosenstock. cheers for reminding me about it
| random Hans, I was just wondering...are there any songs that "destroy" you? I remember you said that for The Verve Pipe's "The Freshman". Mine would be American Football's "Never Meant", or Ben Folds Five's "Brick".
| random Dude, please check out the band Orange Goblin. Stoner goodness, especially if you?re on legal THC/CBD hybrid capsules.
| foxblood nice 4.5 on John Fogerty - Centerfield, that needs more ratings
| kris. add me on fb coward
| random "Take Me Home Tonight" by Eddie Money (R.I.P.) and The Cars' first album are absolute jams. RIP Ric Ocasek.
| Sowing thanks dude, will check it in due time!
| KjSwantko Dude check out my latest list. I think you'll approve. m/
| KjSwantko Wait what the ****, I Know "Don't Tell Me How To Live." Rules so hard....it must've been in a movie, commercial, etc.?
| KjSwantko I like the sound of heavier....this album is solid and I enjoy the Southern Rock vibes throughout much of it, but heavier is better m/
| KjSwantko Dope. I'm probably just gonna listen to all their albums today. Started with True Rockers since it had the highest avg
| KjSwantko Ight will check 'em literally right now. m/
| rockandmetaljunkie i can't forgive you for not reviewing Hardwired to self distract. We needed the opinion of sputnik's biggest metallica nerd
| Larkinhill Just checked that Frightened Rabbit Song man ? holy s*** ? stunning song. Looking forward to hearing all their discog for sure.
| SlothcoreSam Yo, yeah i need to get onto Latterman. I love RVIVR, and that is where some of the band ended up, including Mattie Canino.
| Kaiwaz dude if you really wanna see something great, see if you can get a hold of the Trancers movies. I have the boxed set and it is the greatest thing ever on film.
| Kaiwaz Check out Tiger Heart when you can
| Voivod You'll love this - https://midnightspell.bandcamp.com/releases. Take care!
| Kaiwaz I just read about Hulkster in Heaven. That's honestly kick ass of him to do.
| Kaiwaz Dude Jimmy Hart sang on that album with a clothespin on his nose haha
| Hawks So happy that you dig State Faults bro. Top 10 band ever for me at this point. m/
| Hawks Nice will do brother! m/
| BigPleb Just researched and yeah they're still apart. As long as they play mostly STtG era stuff I'm down m/
| BigPleb Not too sure, has there been bad blood over the years or something?
| BigPleb I'm seeing them this year back to back with Whitesnake man, so excited m/
| BigPleb IIIITTT'SSSS JUUUSSTTT MONKEEEYYYYY BUSIIINNEEESSSSS
| Rowan5215 Can't say I've heard of him but that's a hell of a pitch damn
| random There is nothing better than jamming some vintage Pantera (along with Damageplan and Hellyeah) to end a great day, in my opinion. Dimebag was a legend. RIP to Vinnie Paul also.
| Kaiwaz Hey dude, you're a good user. You can join our discord if you want. hmu
| random I still read your comments in the voice of Carl from that Adult Swim series "Aqua Teen Hunger Force".
| Aiwaz Haha thanks man. Any song suggestions for our next video?
| random Dude, this skateboard video part has a song that sounds VERY Judas Priest inspired...the band is called Hollywood Rose.https://youtu.be/ru8lSPPyh2M
| Devastator Nice, I've got a lot of friends that live there. I'll hit you up next show I'm in town for!
| Aiwaz bro tell me what you think! me and my friend from work got some footagehttps://youtu.be/bc0347l57Yo
| Drifter Yes I've heard it but it's been a loooong time and I love the genre more now. Honestly I'm coming up on 2 years since I checked it and back then I knew very little about Ice Cube and knew nothing of Mack 10 and WC. Gonna revisit hard
| DoofusWainwright can't believe that got reported - shows, you say one thing and those pitchforks and torches come out real quick, tread careful ;D
| DominionMM1 need some lists bruh. don't care if you've got real life things to do just make em.
| Hawks **** yeah Hansy. m/ m/ m/
| random Also, I read all your comments in the voice of Carl from Aqua Teen Hunger Force in my head. The character actually reminds me of your music taste.
| random Hey, Hans!I feel like "Stars" by HUM is one of the most underrated 90's jams for it being Midwest Emo/Shoegaze/post-hardcore. Congratulations on the girlfriend!
| Darius The Imposter Thread got heated and s*** was thrown from all sides even me a bit which I apologize. No hard feelings bro
| cold I don?t even know man, you called a s***load of people a pussy. Thread is basically gone anyways, so it?s cool man.
| guitarded_chuck if you ever do end up flying here i suggest a few rounds at the pub rather than a duel [:
| guitarded_chuck you right wouldn?t be the first time I?ve tested the mods but anyway again sry for the jab at your girl you?re prolly still a little heated by that which is understandable there was no need to go that personal we were just bickering so my bad homie hope you?re not too bothered
| Sowing he probably would knowing him lol
| Rowan5215 awesome hans. never caught them myself but my brother saw em at a free secret show in Sydney, before GFIL came out when they first started previewing songs from that album. insanely jealous
| Sowing That sounds like a dream come true lol. There's something so special about them as a band, color me insanely jealous.
| hogan900 LOL I saw them live in NY a little while back and it was dope. Classy band and I would be lying if I wasn?t crying during a few songs too :?^)
| Deathconscious Im close-ish to minneapolis, yeah. I remember that show very well, it was a great one. Scott is a pretty funny dude.
| TheSpirit i was at work the other day trying to not bust a ****ing gut i was laughing so hard ahaha i had no idea that was you
| pissbore https://www.dubtrack.fm/join/blasphermation
| KjSwantko What's the best hair metal album? I'm thinking Under Lock And Key. Been jamming all day today....the hooks and George Lynch are 5/5 on it. What do you think bro?
| DominionMM1 good to know. it's a band i've been meaning to check for awhile.
| BigPleb As long as there's riffs I'm sold m////
| BigPleb Will do man, will always trust you when it comes to recs cos Slave to the Grind ripped so hard m/
| SitarHero This probably isn't really your thing, but you might still like this thing I did: https://soundcloud.com/quantum-mystic/the-honeycomb-feat-leo-the-progcrastinator-john
| pissbore The 1:52 mark in Demon Bell IS literally the best riff in metal
| KjSwantko Oh s***- I've actually meant to do that. I've heard a couple songs of there's on SiriusXM but don't know their catalogue at all. Such a sick old school vibe m/
| TheNotrap http://www.sputnikmusic.com/album.php?reviewid=75171
| verdant i'd kill to see some of those songs played, namely Century and Lost Dreams
| verdant curse living in australia!! no one ever comes down here : (have fun though hans,,, tell me how it goes!
| theBoneyKing "I call my old woman coffee / 'cause she grinds so fine" lmao
| theBoneyKing DBTs and Jason Isbell were some of the gateways for me. Too good.
| theBoneyKing I'm mixed Middle Eastern and black and hail from Massachusetts of all places. Everything about that tells you I should hate country and indeed I used to think country was an abomination, but my dad educated me.
| theBoneyKing Good s*** dude. Got so much music to explore. It's a shame so many people write off country. The best country is the stuff of legends.
| theBoneyKing Masturbation Blues has got a ****in' mean groove
| theBoneyKing I don't listen to enough old country, I usually stick to 90s alt-country and Americana but I'm definitely missing out on some serious badasses.
| theBoneyKing It's better than it has any right to be. And I usually hate comedic music.
| theBoneyKing Saw you talking about that David Allan Coe 18 X-Rated Hits album and just had to track it down... Listened to part of it, lmfao. Wonderfully twisted stuff set to great country tunes. That stuff would never get released today even though it's clearly tongue in cheek. Sad.
| KjSwantko Damn dude will do. Always down for some offensive, comedy country. That 3.9 avg has me lookin' forward to it
| Hawks Nooooo bro I love indie stuff and punk and post-punk and all that s*** hahaha.
| hogan900 INNNNNNN TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMEYe was quite a special moment
| hogan900 Well I read it and was like; maybe I do enjoy it when a song just cums on my face. Really worked out well
| theBoneyKing Cooley and Isbell are more consistent song for song but at his best I think Hood is just as great. The last couple have been pretty much 50-50 Hood and Cooley and that's definitely the perfect balance.
| theBoneyKing Excited for new War on Drugs in a couple days? Im pretty sure you dig them.
| theBoneyKing I definitely feel that, those 3 are godly. I love the new one, different songwriting for them but still great and more inspired than most of their other recent stuff.
| theBoneyKing DBTs rule yeah! What'd you think of their newest? (I reviewed it btw)
| theBoneyKing Btw I haven't completely ignored your Mazzy Star rec, just haven't gotten around to it yet.
| theBoneyKing Glad you understand. Same man, I don't dig cock rock but country absolutely!
| theBoneyKing Those were decent, didn't blow me away though... I had a hard time getting over how much they sound like The National. To be fair, if the same tracks with Matt Berninger singing them were released as National songs I'd love them but as is the similarity is almost to a fraudulent degree (the drumming in particular, especially on Keep Me in the Open) and the guy's voice still has an emo quality to it that I can't get over. Sorry, thank for trying but I'm still not convinced. It's probably my loss.
| Hawks Idk bro it sounds like something I'd really dig, gonna give it a listen tomorrow. :]
| Rowan5215 they have that effect somehow! like the phone call guy in my review said it feels like the album has already been here forever. melodies like the "I'm not leaving tonight" or "you want someone who wants you for who you are" are just universal somehow
| Satellite hey man, it's coming! any day now...good to see you around here dude. hope all is well (dallas cowboys win-loss record notwithstanding).
| Conmaniac **** man I could tell, it's ****ing gorgeous. I had to do a double take when I saw you commenting hahaha
| Rowan5215 hope I did you justice in my review hans
| Rowan5215 don't get me wrong Science Fiction is a bop but Australia's over here giving everyone the most powerful concept album of the year and no one's taking the time to listen to it lol
| Rowan5215 It's just a shame the Brand New hype completely obscured every other album that dropped yesterday. I'll get it on the front page either way
| Rowan5215 I dibbed it when it was first announced and had a really cool idea about how I might review it, time permitting... all I can say is watch this space
| Rowan5215 so good to see you reviewing again mate! sputnik will come to love Gang of Youths if I have to drag the whole site kicking and screaming
| hogan900 Please do, it well deserves one
| hogan900 thank u for your shoutout for Go Further Into Lightness, really incredible album. Reminds me of when you reviewed The Dark Dark Bright which would become my favorite album of all time. So ya just wanna give credit where credit is due, thanks a lot man.
| verdant that's top 3 for me; Achilles Come Down is the best song they've ever written i reckon
| verdant I reckon I might, too, my man. That s*** is an EXPERIENCE. Keen to see how our points differ :~)
| KjSwantko Damn dawg, you ever hear Sebastian sing "Alone Again"?Just found this https://youtu.be/YAttSTxhd_k
| StarlessCore see ive done that but idk i have so much more energy when i dont
| BigPleb Thanks for bumping it dude! I'm rocking out so hard m/
| StarlessCore im younger than u mannnn. twice a day average, consistently. u beat me????
| StarlessCore i have sex more than you do atm, id bet my life on it
| StarlessCore thrashcore converge days , listen to the whole song regardless of you not liking the vox or whatever your gay problem is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgcqNJtDPKk
| Aiwaz '77 huh? Yeah, we're old bro. I'm scared.
| KjSwantko Damn! I remember that list. Still rules. They had Corpsegrinder hosting Liquid Metal the other night and one of the songs he played was "Dick in Dixie" by Hank III. Yes on Liquid Metal. Was so m/ m/ m/
| KjSwantko haha it's the same one again. What's the title of it? I'll find it.
| KjSwantko I think the wrong list came through, man. That link brought me to your most recent concerts list
| theBoneyKing Yeah I have heard Fade Into You a bunch of times. Will try to check the album at some point, been digging a lot of dream pop lately anyways.
| Inveigh July is our slowest month of the year besides December, so I'm in the same boat. all decision makers are on vacation.
| Inveigh haha, i haven't been on in the daytime in forever
| theacademy u know the s/t is ****ING TWENTY YEARS OLD this year
| theacademy ive actually been saving it for my deathbed
| theacademy *raining blood plays* *raining blood stops abruptly* *stellar by incubus plays*
| CompostCompote I'm in an unhappy relationship currently, but as soon as I'm on the market, you will be my first call
| Titan review it Hans bro.....i see you rated it so you're still around
| elcrawfodor Hey I've noticed that you've reviewed lots of the stuff I've been listening to lately and tend to compare them pretty often, stuff like Springsteen, Hold Steady, Gaslight Anthem/Brian Fallon, etc. Got any other rec's along the same lines?
| Deathconscious Well s***, 3 hours is a drive but idk, it might be worth it lol. Im ****in stoked.
| pissbore hey bro just remindin ya to check illusions since it is the greatest riff album ever made
| pissbore also sadus - illusions is the best thrash record ever made you'd dig it hard dude
| pissbore in the sign of evil is waaaaaay different bro, it's like straight up evil d-beat hardcore punk... arguably the greatest release of 1984, which is arguably the greatest year ever made, for metal or otherwise - and its only 20 min long, def revisit it hard even if you have heard it before, the riffs bro, the riffs.
| pissbore dude check sodom - in the sign of evil
| JamieTwort Yeah I still dig the rawk - the old rawk that is. My taste in modern music differs entirely from my taste in old school stuff which is still the same as it always was. I've only rated new releases on here since I got my ratings wiped which is why my pie chart looks the way it does. Still dig W.A.S.P and the like and (although not rawk) Bob Dylan is prob my most listened to artists these days.
| Hawks I haven't heard their first 2, but the past 3 are all fantastic.
| Hawks Bro have you ever jammed the Gojira album that I just rated? I think you'd dig it really hard.
| Hawks Hey bro sorry for the late response, but I do dig Kyuss hard hahaha. Idk if you saw my comment on whatever list we were discussing that on. ;]
| Trebor. I know man it's crazy. I'm 23 but I'm like an elder now. It kind of makes sense, I used to s***post a lot when I didn't have a girlfriend and had loads of free time and was on sput all day. These guys need to get laid for sure
| Trebor. These lonely sputbros need 50cc of brew and riffs dude
| BigBalls You still sputniking man? Been awhile. I don't care how many times they ban me, I just gotta sput.
| pissbore yeah dude i honestly cant decide if i like the riffs or the vocals more
| pissbore you should bump it close to the top bro, hard riffs and pure vocals of truth
| Gmork89 Oh this is really sweet, interesting lineup too, thanks for the rec. Vocals remind me of John Garcia/Kyuss, good find.
| Gmork89 No prob man, yeah I was kind of thinking the same thing. Let me know what you think if you decide to check it out.
| Gmork89 If you're interested check out Elephant Graveyard.
| Gmork89 Hey man have you checked out the new Cobalt album? I don't know if they are typically your style but their new album rawks pretty hard, kind of thought it might be something you would dig.
| pissbore seriously hear Court in the Act hard dude, it also desperately needs a rev
| pissbore Did you ever get around to checking out Satan?
| pissbore Hard faith dude so glad we have a thread to bump now
| Hawks I'm honestly jamming so much different s*** right now. It's all over the place lol.
| Hawks Idk Hans bro I might have another classic hip hop kick coming on. Just jammed The Infamous and 36 Chambers hard, haven't had a hip hop binge with all the classics in years.
| Hawks ****ing sweet bro. Just jammed Sir Lord Baltimore and it rules so hard.
| pissbore Sweet gonna take a massive dump and throw it on
| pissbore yeah you'll love it for sure dude, and it somehow still doesn't have a review on here.... but yeah i've never jammed Lord Baltimore, what's the best album to start with?
| pissbore lol it's a pretty off-throwing name but they're actually one of the best bands from the NWOBHM, hard riffs of fist and vocals of epitomal truth
| pissbore bro if you need another album with hard riffs tonight check out Satan - Court in the Act
| Hawks Wish I had some more ganj.... But I'll get on them. m/
| Hawks Damn I've been meaning to jam that forever.
| Hawks **** it I'm jamming it now. Bro rec me some sweet prog, I really need to dive into it now that I'm digging Pink Floyd and s***.
| Hawks I haven't bro, I'll check it hard. I'm ripped too, but I left my good headphones at work. :[
| pissbore no trust me it aint just the weed, it is a cosmic fact
| Hawks Hahahaha I won't forget bro.
| Hawks Bro idk if it helps that I'm kinda fried right now, but all 3 PF albums I've jammed are like the greatest things ever. Can't believe how hard I've been missing out haha.
| Titan http://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?mode=1
| forkliftjones Your review for Ace of Spades is 100% truth. Cheers.
| chemicalmarriage No prob, the Motorhead review was ****in beast. Sput would be better for it, especially in these dark times.
| TheNotrap Cheers Hans bro, long time no see. Everything's ok?
| Hawks I'm gonna have to get on it soon. Gotta digest some of the albums I've been jamming more before I do that though.
| Hawks Will do for sure bro, I'm loving the indie right now. But yeah The National are amazing. I've only heard Alligator and Boxer so far, but both are 5's. I gotta get on High Violet soon.
| Hawks **** yeah bro they're amazing. I'm on an indie binge the past couple of weeks.
