 | fr33convict Tis quite true man. He taught at the Frisco School of Rock for a few years before they left to record their new album and is friends with basically every kid he knew from there. We talked about music, I got him back into extremer metal (Rikki Tikki Tavi or whatever it's called is somewhat of an indirect result) talked about shot, slapped him in the face with some shaving cream, etc.,

 | Metalstyles Yes you were right I did like that one more, and breakdowns aren't a problem at all, I just dislike the whole muddy chug thing they got going on in the first song you sent me. Well, I mean, I'm not too excited about this, but I guess I'll give the album a shot just for you. That is, when I get my external HD back. I have ran out of room on my inner one, which sucks, as it means no new music until the new one is fixed.

| fr33convict It it was a lot but since I did it with my brother and we're like they're favorite people there one of us was free. He likes to be called Andrew since Darroh is his stage name. I'll give you a link later since our myspace is down ATM (look at my list called F***. for info if you want.) We have a Facebook though, but I don't have an exact link since Facebook url's are weird. Search for Golgatha. We're a Christian Metal (Death, Metalcore, Thrash, whatever) band. We have only like 34 likes haha.

| fr33convict I did a music camp for my band this summer and he was directing us. Whenever we made some dick remark (because over the two weeks we got to be decently friendly) he hit us with a drumstick. He also worked at the Frisco School of Rock until they had to leave to record so I got to see him like twice a week. He's such a badass. And he doesn't like people calling him Darroh.

| Metalstyles Periphery is goddamn lucky it got a rating as high as 2.5. Also, as far as i know I've had Poseidon at a 4.5 all the time. Maybe when I was giving the album its first few spins I was talking about a 4, but it has been a 4.5 since I rated it.

| Metalstyles I'd say either "Dead Lion Reef" or "There's Blood Offshore". "Black Smokers" has grown on me immensely too. Didn't think too much of it at first, but you were right, it's a really cool track.

| DaveyBoy New VE is growing on me. There was something I really did not like on 1st listen. Cannot quite put my finger on it, but I think it was the lack of intensity. Closing in on a 4, but may just fall short.

| DaveyBoy Totally understand man. And agree for the most part. I immediately loved the Parades LP. The Foals album took a little while longer to sink in. Having to review it was what made me persist and eventually love it. Spanish Sahara being so awesome helped a lot too.

Catchiness. Because I agree that I am not often singing Foals songs hours after hearing them. It is more instant and emotional gratification. Whereas there is a larger catchiness element to Parades.

| bloc WHOA, not an Underoath fan at all? I find that hard to believe! But yeah, I am loving Periphery's style too and I wouldn't mind it at all if they just stuck with this path. As for recs, check out Connelly, Dead and Divine, The Dream The Chase, Her Bright Skies, Here I Come Falling, Into the Ocean, Mozart Season, Paddock Park, Antilove, Vanna, Counterparts, Patriarchs, Structures, Volumes, and The Word Alive.

| bloc Hope's a bit of a poor man's Underoath in my opinion. And as for Dioramic, I guess they're just a hit or miss kind of band. I can see some bright things in Periphery's future, but I do feel as though they'll stay within that niche of theirs, not only with their type of music, but also with their fanbase. I can't see them headlining these huge festivals or anything, but they will definitely gain more and more fans as time passes.

 | Carnifex I just can't get a grasp of indie rock whatsoever, and for them to make this move really frustrates me. I wasn't even a huge fan of Birth.Eater (I thought The Tide was their best work), but I can't seem to grasp this sound. I knew they were getting softer and softer, but ugh.

| Fugue Probably not the best, but i found it to be the easiest to digest. Dancing with the midnight king or the battle of epping forest are probably best.
