| Koris I feel like I haven't seen you in ages! (I'm the one who reviewed all those Queen albums as Necrotica, lol)
| OmairSh I can' stand black nail polish on guys. Just checked Forgotten Sun, has a kind of power metal vibe. I thought it was going to be nu-metal-ish becasue of the 7 string and the tone in the beginning, but thankfully it wasn't. Hows the music scene in portugal? You guys have Moonspell that I'm aware of
| OmairSh http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEjfiBWPHmA, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xscvtf65l1E, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6StD5G12vjM I'm in the second video :-P (it took us 6 odd hours to shoot but I'm only there for a few seconds)
| OmairSh This is the original of Mr. Fraudiyey http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4s5o43bILGk. I LOVE the sax melody and the chorus, so damn catchy. I'll check your link. I'm glad you're enjoying the music (or are you? hmmm)
| OmairSh You just think Danny's a dick. Yeah that vidoe's weird, and thats why it's interesting :P. I love this song, bassline yeee http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJlhSU6_HPI
| OmairSh Anathema has started recording their next album :D :D :D

| OmairSh AN URGENT MESSAGE FROM DANIEL CAVANAGH"Due to unforeseen problems with the train schedule - I'm in real danger of missing my flight from BERLIN SCHOENEFELD airport today.I am in Poznan - Poland.I need to be at Berlin by 6pm if possible.I will pay all expenses to any fan who is free today in Poznan (or nearby) to drive to Berlin (it's not a huge drive). This will save the new Anathema album - that is where I'm flying to"NEW ANATHEMA ALBUM :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
| OmairSh Not better than Vinny Cavanagh :-D
| OmairSh Yo. I'll check your stuff out in good time hopefully :P, pretty swamped currently. Never heard of the Italian band though. Yeah dude I expected to like Nightfall more but I just couldn't get into it like everyone else, the vocals get really tiring as well.
| OmairSh http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fiX8Lbn1444, Massive Attack remix http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJQooj11zjU, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjLd6u-amVM
| OmairSh No worries take your time :-), glad you enjoyed one song
| OmairSh Yo Dream check my latest list out
| scottyrobotty I saw you liked the Entropia - Vesper album. Just thought I'd let you know there is a Kickstarter up for the vinyl version. Thanks for checking it out! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2119343023/entropias-stunning-debut-album-lets-put-it-on-viny/
| OmairSh I was going to make a 'you have crap taste' joke but you beat me to it that Coldplay point. Dammit. How many times have you seen Anathema live?
| KINGMULLET WHY DON'T YOU GET DOWN ON YOUR HANDS AND KNEES AND WORSHIP THIS MULLET
| OmairSh I see your most recent track :D. Best Anathema song agreed
| OmairSh Yeah they play landscapes live though I think. Well they want to play the best song (TBATE) on the album and not the weakest (TLC) :D
| OmairSh Why do you like to see me cry? Yeah I watched this a while back. Dude they've played untouchable 2 too many times, they need to play other songs from WS in this setting.
| insomniac15 Cool cool cool. Yeah, the country is beautiful, the people are 90% s***e.
| insomniac15 Hey. I'm from Timisoara, not from Arad, sorry. I buy my records online because you don't find many record stores around town in Romania. Still, there are a few websites that have a lot of records or can bring whatever you want especially for you. Try at NicheRecords and ProRock.ro. Also, Bestial.ro have a nice collection of metal records. If they aren't enough, try Discogs.com, if you wish to buy absolutely anything from anywhere around the world. Hope that helps.
| OmairSh DUDE! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRt0Ug5WweE
| OmairSh I know we're human and peoples character affects our opinion of them, but when it comes to the arts (music, movies, etc) we should just care about the music, etc. The person can be an asshole and release great music, we shouldn't deprive ourselves of that
| OmairSh I hear Axl's a sweetheart when he's around lars ulrich ;-)
| OmairSh yeah the interviewer wasn't taking the hint was he? :P. Yeah dude I completely agree with the "peace and love" facade, deep down everyones an asshole and its all a matter of when the assholeness comes out Its impossible for someone to be completely peace loving. Hows that for not believing :D.
| OmairSh Dude he's not perfect, and thats fine if he doesn't want to be associated with the old more metal oriented Anathema, maybe it brings back bad memories. And then there's the other side when your music is being called soft, like its p ussy music, so he probably doesn't like his music being called timid or soft. Like I said this is a very small issue, you can't expect him to be about peace 24/7, he's human dude
| OmairSh Hahahahah yeah he fuking hates metal now. Yeah he seems like a bit of an ego maniac, but you can expect that from someone like him. And he hates on metal, that doesn't mean he's not a peace loving guy, I think the latest 2 Anathemas are proof of that.
| OmairSh http://www.metalstorm.net/pub/interview.php?interview_id=162
| OmairSh Dream please, why are you forcing me to send someone to your home to shove your face down the toilet. Yeah I was obsessed with watching RW reactions, I wish I had recorded my own, that s*** was fuking painful to watch.
| OmairSh And you better be joking about the beginning and the end comment
| OmairSh Yeah I was surprised someone recorded it, brilliant song and terrific vocals from Vinnie. A friedn also recommended I read the books, but it will take foreverr :P. Dude the second season was weaker than s1 by quite a bit, the 3rd picks up, and ofcourse there's the RW, you know you want to watch that and hide under you blanket for 3 days. That scene was too much to handle, but we can discuss it after you watch it.
| OmairSh Jizzfest dude, Vinnie absolutely kills it fuking hell love his vocals http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylUwuqKCXcA
| OmairSh Yup, haven't read the books though. The red wedding wouldn't have impacted me to the same extent had I read the books, thats for sure
| OmairSh Yeah man, you have the rest of your life to deal with the real world, enjoy being young while it lasts :-)
| OmairSh Ah it's good prep for the real world, I've heard the problems there are pretty tough
| OmairSh Yeah but still it wasn't a matter of if, it was a matter of when
| aggelosm Hehe, thanks. I love these little anathema wars in Sputnik. ;P
| aggelosm Agree with your every single word about Anathema. Even if I would like another Eternity :P
| nononsense You think they'll save when Tyrion kills Shae and Tywin for next seasons episode 9?
| nononsense I think he's gunna team up with Dany, honestly. They'll both get their revenge, but Jaime and Tyrion wont be killed.
| nononsense Do you think Malisandre is going to bring Jon back in the next book?
| Acanthus Tried that Within Temptation album, couldn't really get into their sound on that album; prefer The Heart Of Everything much more.
| Necrotica haha, I could totally do Ulver, they were one of my childhood favorites! :D We'll see though, discog reviews are pretty time-consuming :P
| OmairSh But just imagine if there was a vocal effect :-D. Obviously I don't want every song to have a vocal effect (and with regards to effects I'm not restricting myself to the vocals only) but there definitely should be experimentation
| OmairSh http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fwl8RZ9Umv4 I'm sure you'll like this ;-)
| Necrotica Haha, well at least we agree on how bad The Works is :P Surprisingly, I actually find Hot Space better than The Works, despite many disagreements I've gotten for that
| Necrotica I actually just wrote a new review for A Kind of Magic today, bro :D
| Necrotica I used to be Necrophagist43 and reviewed all those classic Queen albums and stuff. And awesome, the new Amorphis is fantastic! I thought it was one of their best
| Necrotica Hey man, haven't talked to you on here in a long while! How's it been?
| Gnocchi hey dude are you interested in a staff position at my site? hit me up if it sounds like you're kinda thing. robert.garland@outlook.com
| OmairSh Dude give me the link to your page on your "other" better website :D. Hey reviewing stuff you don't like can broaden your perspective as well as increase your tolerance level. I just reviewed after 4 or 5 months, feels good to get back in the game. Lastfm has been banned for some odd reason here in Pakistan. Plus I never really paid much attention to it while it was unbanned, what're the benefits of the account? Glad you liked the videos, trying to promote my local bands, ya feel me.
| OmairSh What up? Hows reviewing on the other website coming along?
| CaptainDooRight haha cool, I was looking through it right now. It seems its a fan page because there's no actual text from Roy saying his plans or anything like that. Just a fan trying to promote for Roy hoping that it'll persuade him to action with I totally support!! ha
| Gnocchi If you want it legally and early, just ask them. Say who you write for and which album you're after. Dont get long winded or fan boyish. They may say yes, they may so no
| OmairSh Guess all that dark Riverside stuff created the Second side
| OmairSh Thats my evil side, oooooh :P. Apparently I'm a sweetheart otherwise
| OmairSh Haha I think the websites run by open minded people so they miiight appreciate your other entries, but I can't promise anything :P. Really? What else have you heard from Steven or PT? You should check out No-Man's Schoolyard Ghosts.
| OmairSh SONGS has disappointed me, I think a 3.5 is being lenient. I've listened to it a lot and it hasn't really grown, guess I'll have to wait for Steven Wilson now.
| OmairSh Nah it's main focus is prog, they do have some artists who you might think aren't exactly prog but they might have prog tendencies. Check in the CD reviews section if the artists you're thinking of putting up in the poll are present, if they are then go right ahead. I think Anneke might be there but not Lana.
| OmairSh DPRP poll is up http://www.dprp.net/dprpoll/2012/
| OmairSh Yeah it was intentional by the band like the last album ADHD
| OmairSh SONGs is being released in Poland tomorrow.
| OmairSh Haha not sure about reviewing, hadn't had the drive since I bashed ADTOE :P. The production is great but I think the binaural recording technique makes the instruments seem distant, and the mix is annoying me, the guitars are a bit low as well as the keyboards.....Well that was a small part of a review I guess :P.
| OmairSh Yeah I understand where you're coming from, it's grown on me but I'm still hoping for a lot of fresh, dark, twisted, experimental ideas. People have reviewed it already and have uploaded the links on the bands facebook page, I've skimmed through a couple but I want to listen to the album and judge it properly. Been listening to this for the past hour and a half http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aL88-J_iYCw
| OmairSh But I love that his face is melting off :P. They chose a good actor for the lead. Come on you must at least enjoy the soothing melodic ending.
| OmairSh You like the video? Dude. I get the whole celebrity part but I think they stretch it too much, was hoping for some more twisted silent hill-esque parts like the last odd minute of the video.
| OmairSh It's out now http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAqU-RDnYyY
| OmairSh Been on an Anathema craze of late, especially Weather Systems, has to be the best Anathema, so much friggin emotion and passion.
| OmairSh Haha yeah I'm eager to listen to the album, been digging Celebrity Touch, drums are too low though and the bass is a bit high (the usual mix problems with Riverside.)
| OmairSh Riverside fb, the video should be released next week
| OmairSh I can't get over the drums being so low, they sound better than ever but are too low in the mix. I really like the riffage, maybe it'll grow on you too. I think I'm going to listen to it scarcely and enjoy the complete version with the rest of the album.
| OmairSh Been listening to Celebrity Touch quite abit, enjoying it so far, som great riffs especially the one in the verses. The bridge is also great, and overall the song feels organic thanks to the intrsumentation. Really eager to hear the album.
| Keyblade Haha but their albums God is Good, and Pilgramage have it. It's just their first 2 albums which didn't have the extra instrumentation.
| OmairSh The drums are low in the mix as usual. And yeah I think I'll get bored with the song quickly, gets too repetitive, especially the main riff. They might be going all 1970 on us.
| OmairSh Yeah heard it twice, it's got good riffage but it ain't anything new, I was expecting quite a different direction. But it's the "single" of the album and it looks like Riverside want to expand their listener base a little. You can't blame them, it's tough being prog musicians, it ain't all that glamorous.
| Keyblade Yep, definitely. They're all pretty similar in style except the older albums are just drum and bass...none of the extra instrumentation like you'd find on the new one.
| Keyblade Ah, 1/2 is still good enough haha. Great to see you digging Om, all their albums are just as good. Conference of the Birds is my favorite.
| OmairSh Yeah the second half of that preview clip, no problemo :-). Theirs are on facebook.
| OmairSh First Riverside single being released on the 17th.
| Keyblade Damn, you know I've yet to hear new Anathema oddly. It was one of my most anticipated albums too.
| Keyblade oh s*** just noticed, someone who likes TG as much as me! disclosure is so sweet man.
| Keyblade dude you got the name of the Agalloch ep wrong on your list. it's faustian echoes, not shores.
| OmairSh Well we'll have to wait a little under 2 months to find out. They said they were taking a different direction, I'm a little nervous about it after hearing the preview. But they've obviously saved the best for when the album gets released.
| OmairSh Oh and the vocals, I tend to focus a lot more on the instruments :P. The vocal lines in the first song are interesting, but in the second song I think we see that Mariusz vocals aren't too dynamic. His aggressive vocals aren't very convincing, the softer ones he can pull off in a much better fashion.
| OmairSh The second song sounds so much like old school rock it's not even funny, esp Deep Purple. I really like the riffs but again I think it might wear off quicker than we hope because it sounds familiar. I'm glad the bass and snare drum are higher in the mix than usual and sound good but overall again I think the album has been mixed and mastered at a low volume. Hopefully it'll sound better when its released. Steven Wilsons solo album details are released as well btw.
| OmairSh Yeah the first song caught me off guard initially but after listening a few times I enjoyed it. I really like the synth tone actually, I actually like most of Michals contributions, I think he's a fantastic keyboard player. The fuzzy guitar tones nice as well, but I think the novelty might wear off quickly.
| OmairSh If you don't like album previews then don't check the link, it's a 2 minute preview of Riversides next album. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOB8BCv9ZmE
| OmairSh Glad to hear that :-), you enjoyed it more than a lot of people. I think the songwriting is impeccable. The flow, the melodies, the moods. It doesn't have as much of the ambiance that I fell in love with, but it's a different direction, and brilliantly done.
| OmairSh SLS was also the first I heard from them and I ignored it initially. Months later when I came back to it I fell in love with the elements they incorporate, the music felt very passionate. And I loved the ambience, Michal Lapaj is the man.
| OmairSh Also DPRP is actually very much prog oriented, there are a few oddities which have enough prog inclinations to be reviewed on the site. Otherwise its mainly prog. Progarchives is another prog oriented website. There's too much music out there :P.
| OmairSh I actually enjoyed REM quite a bit, might be their second best for me.
| OmairSh True, black gets very bland and is generic. Pinks fine, what I'm still all man, haha. If you're listening to ADHD for the first time then I'm not going to comment, you should get acquainted with it, and then we can discuss. But you will be surprised :D. Sunliiiighhht faades, but only fooor a whiile.
| OmairSh Damn its only me shouting around here XD. Dude have you heard Riversides ADHD?
| OmairSh Yeah I like the site, even in all its pinkness :D. Well Andromeda are pretty generic, and they tend to focus on needless wankery, so the album bored me. There are interesting elements, but they're surrounded by needless prog metal stigmas. I've only heard their first and 4th albums, and I'm not too interested in checking out the others. But you can check the reviews, apparently a lot of people liked the debut.
| OmairSh Theres a prog website DPRP that has reviews, interviews, etc. It also conducts an annual poll for the best album, best artwork, best vocalist, guitarist, etc. You should check it out, you can rate Weather systems up there :D. Voting will be in Jan or Feb I think.
| OmairSh Also if you want dark-ish music like Lunatic Soul then The Fountain OST and Steven Wilsons' Insurgentes are really good listens. I see all of Riversides albums rated except ADHD, too bad to rate or haven't listened to it yet?
| OmairSh Digging Anathema and The Gathering I see, cool :-). Cool I'll give Mandylion a shot, I saw the video of "Travel" from their DVD on youtube and I liked the guitar tone and experimentation, but the song felt like it lingered for a while. Need to let it grow I guess. I think Lunatic Souls' album quality has slightly decreased with each release, so would say start with the 1st. But the second isn't too far behind.
| OmairSh Cool, at least your creative juices are receiving some outlet. I have only heard Anneke when she's featured on albums and haven't heard her actual work, but I know she's got some pretty good pipes. What you recommend from her?
| OmairSh 4 reviews on 100%, that "impending" neg is haunting, I would know haha.
| ksoflas I can see that your "disclosure 5" still stands tall and proud...Cool, even though i thought you WERE going to reconsider.
| ksoflas I can see that your "disclosure 5" still stands tall and proud...Cool, even though i thought you're going to reconsider.
| JohnnyoftheWell Almost as good? Almost everyone else prefers TsiB lol, but even if it's not quite as good as Souls I'll still love it lol
| JohnnyoftheWell I started with Souls, which clicked pretty fast, and then Enemy, which I sort-of get, but I don't think it's really clicked yet. TsiB is in the post, am seriously hyped
| JohnnyoftheWell Yeah, I got about 3 pages of behind the scenes from Danny, lol. That is a great song, am looking forward to exploring their (am also getting into Neurosis and Agalloch, whilst finishing off Anathema's discog)
| JohnnyoftheWell Yeah, it says in the sleeve notes that some guy woke up, wrote the lyrics on a handkerchief and then went straight back to sleep lol. Am looking forward to hearing the Gathering, I love a new band
| JohnnyoftheWell I've preordered Disclosure, will get Mandylion soonish after that and work through chronologically from there. Lol, do you know the story of Nocturnal Emission's lyrics?
| Willie http://www.sputnikmusic.com/forums/usercp.php
| JohnnyoftheWell I got the Silent Enigma, am digging pretty hard; first two songs are especially great. His vocals are much better than I expected, apart from the t/t
| JohnnyoftheWell Oooh, sounds pretty sweet will pick it up in a couple of weeks then
| JohnnyoftheWell Ok cheers, my copy of Eternity is just a normal jewel case, but I'll probs order the TSE digipack. Does it have a dvd or any bonus stuff?
| JohnnyoftheWell Cheers bro, I'll check them out later. I'm defo getting both albums at some point in time, I'm just trying to decide which to get first lol
| JohnnyoftheWell Hey Dream, was wondering about checking Anathema's Silent Enigma album, will I love it as much as I love Eternity, or should I get Alternative 4 first?
| ANJ45 Yeah! Was a great album actually! Not quite as good as Silence or Winterheart but definitley great in it's own sense!
| CaptainDooRight just checked out that link for epica instrumental, good stuff man
| ANJ45 I approve your music tastes. \m/

| TheNotrap E melhor escrever sem os acentos ;-). Muito bem, e sempre bom encontrar um conterraneo. Um abraco
| TheNotrap Estou a ver que também és Português
| Gmork89 Oh, I didn't know that haha, I thought you were looking to get into them. But ya, Souls at Zero was definitely the icebreaker for me. I will check that track out as soon as I get a chance today, thanks man.
| Gmork89 No problem man. It's pretty much the style they still use to this day, just more in your face without the build-ups.
| Gyromania Yeah, it really is =[ I've been thinking of reviewing Death's Design, I might take that on sometime in the coming weeks - he deserves as much attention as he can get.
| Gyromania 'Currently Digging:Diabolical Masquerade'****. Yes.
