| SeaAnemone haha yeah I know what you mean. any time i get dragged into social bs here it's not entertaining for me anymore it's always by accident or unwanted. only reason i stick around is the writing, the opportunity to spread a little good music, and to discuss stuff with users i already know n love. i get a lot less out of this site though than i used to. tis a shame.

| JustJoe. So far, I'm about 5 tracks into Burrprint. It's not as bad as I was expecting. After a full listen or two, I think I may have a full grasp on it.Also, I just saw your comment about 36 Chambers and Reasonable Doubt, and Aes Rock. I just died a little inside, maybe a lot. Alas, if you can change my mind on Gucci, there is hope I can change yours on the aforementioned artist/albums.

| JustJoe. Sputnik just nixed my explanation. I'll try again. I am not faulting Eminem for the more mainstream type sound on Recovery. I just felt that he wasn't confident in his content and that really showed in the songs. Also, for him to cave in to public opinion and denounce Relapse (which I loved) on the song "Not Afraid" showed me that this is not the same Em that I grew up loving.

| JustJoe. I know at some point it became really cool to hate on Pitchfork. No one is infallible and Pitchfork does get it wrong sometimes, but I respect that 99.9% of the time the reviews are well written. Drake's album was not an 8.4 at all. For what it was supposed to be, I've heard better, from him and other artists. The 2.8 they gave Recovery, I thought, was appropriate. I agreed 100% with they review.

| JustJoe. Pitchfork wrote a pretty decent review on a Lil B release, a while back. Their reviews are always well written, so I think I can get an idea of how to listen to him properly. As for Gucci Mane, I'll check that out, along with Maxinquaye tomorrow.

| JustJoe. I'm not going to lie and say I listened to his entire discog and gave him what I would call a "fair" listen. Those are three songs I have heard from him, yes. Not much else I can confidently say I have. Also, my Lil B encounters are minimal at best.

| JustJoe. "The Disintegration Loops" is a group of albums by William Basinski. But I'll leave it to the experts to explain it properly. I was just intrigued by the concept behind the album that I wanted to apply it to some other literary concepts I'd been exploring. And I too know nothing about music. I've gotten as far as I have with my "ear for music" and some curiosity.

Looking at his music profile, I think that him and I may end up getting along fairly well. I'm actually writing a collaborative story with one of my creative writing friends, and the base of the narrative is T.S. Elliot's "The Waste Land" and "The Disintegration Loops" by William Basinski.
