  • zakalwe I'm definitely not saying it's 'all' babble. 'Some' of it does seem to be spouted by charlatans though.Maybe we will have an answer when Hitler comes back from the moon.
    January 16 02:32 PM
  • zakalwe You're cool wolfy dude. I admit I don't know what I'm talking about but I still like to discuss these things. I don't think talking to a psychologist would help with my problems :D

    November 12 09:30 AM
  • Artuma oh ok. i somehow got the idea that you were interested in going there
    September 22 04:33 AM
  • Artuma alright, good luck then. it's just that one of my friends suffers from asthma and one time we had to crawl wearing gas masks, he almost choked and had to quit the army. his asthma was pretty bad though
    September 21 05:26 PM
  • Artuma yeah definitely not a good combination for army. if you have a bad asthma then i don't think you can go through it
    September 21 12:18 PM
  • Artuma mostly it felt kinda silly but sometimes it was actually pretty cool and i was in a lot better shape when i came home than when i went there so it wasn't completely useless
    September 21 11:13 AM
  • Artuma yeah in sweden and norway they don't have it but here in finland we do
    September 21 04:04 AM
  • Artuma not anymore. we have a compulsory military service which i finished about a year ago
    September 18 10:37 AM
  • SachikoM Nah, not really. The economy's going down the s***ter and the current government is trying to dismantle the labour laws currently in place. On top of that, the government don't believe in climate change, and that coal will drive the economy (contrary to shifting focus towards renewable energy). It's all a cluster**** of stupidity tbh...
    September 8 10:07 PM
  • SachikoM The heat is pretty oppressive in Summer.... The racism is pretty blatant when you're outside of the major cities (e.g. The pub in my town segregates the white people and the indigenous people). In all honesty, anything political in regards to Australia is bad... The weather is much less bothersome.
    September 8 10:01 PM
  • SachikoM Australia is nice to visit (if you're talking about the cities). If you head into the small, rural towns and spend more than a week there, you'll come to realise the issue of Australian society.... It could definitely be worse, I'm just quite bitter about living in a dead-end town full of hicks. If I get into the uni I want, I should be able to leave that place behind me.
    September 8 09:53 PM
  • SachikoM I'm not actually a kraut. I'm just a cynical Australian who lives in a s***hole and deals with racism on a daily basis.
    September 8 09:48 PM
  • Sevengill We have Blind Guardian and Gamma Ray to make 4.5 and 5's, respectively.

    September 24 05:33 PM
  • KrazyKris Hey, when you said I need some OSDM, did you mean I should check this out: www.osdm.de/Not my cup of tea, but if you like it...
    September 24 02:48 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Yeah man Brendens Pub in Camarillo is cool. Lots of good pubs in Ventura as well. Depending on when you come look for music festivals. Must be late where u are. Gd conversing so far tho bro.
    September 17 11:38 PM
  • CaptainDooRight And I apologize for ignoring you when you last visited the US. Meeting up just wouldn't work for me. It's hard for me to rec Cali because I don't care too much for it. Like what are you into big you culture meet people at the beach or visit some local music shows and conversate. But CA is whatever to me. Only thing I like here are the beaches. US is whatever too lol.
    September 17 10:14 PM
  • CaptainDooRight And I too and I would if I was single. I would have a lot more time. Thanks sharing that info and I'm interested in the same things for the same reasons, and more. And somewhat true in regards to marriage, in the past the 'deal being sealed' was nothing more than a marriage feast at the parents house. And that's why I loved the tour I did along with what you said 'Plus history makes understanding culture easier.'
    September 17 09:36 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Oh ok that makes perfect sense. That's an interesting quality or characteristic. So what are you studying in school and what areas of education are interesting to you and why. Do you have plans to get married and maybe even have kids in the future. And are you open to wedding or domestic partnering either gender?
    September 17 09:10 PM
  • CaptainDooRight No, yes I can definitely understand. Well, how would you describe asexual or in the context to yourself, so I can better understand.
    September 17 09:01 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Right, I know you're bisexual which means both sexes. And I will admit my question asking why you were attracted to men is biased but only in the respect that common sexual ways I've been around my life were heterosexual so I'm more interested in gaining knowledge in which I'm less educated about. Although I had many bi sexual friends growing up.
    September 17 08:28 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Right never implied in the offensive light but posed merely as possibilities, not to rule out the others. And apologies, regardless. And I've contemplated your expressions too. I also grew up in a divided household and had step-parents. Perhaps it seemed like you were more in the offensive light than I actually portrayed to you based on your response which says a lot about you. But it's cool we're all human. I try to remain fairly inoffensive which I think my knowledge helps in that regard.
    September 17 08:17 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Yeah that happens too when people move away from each other. Long distance is hard for most people. We'll I meant do you know what caused your bisexuality? Like some people who grew up without fathers or were abused ect. Several things like that can make people feel inclined sexually towards men. You don't have to share if you don't want. I was just curious. You seem pretty knowledgeable and open which is why I wanted to converse with you in the first place.
    September 17 07:58 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Yeah I've seen not so pretty results with relationships too. People just learn more about each other later down the road because they didn't take the time to get to know each other in different scenarios before rushing into marriage. It's a sad case. And it's understandable your female friend lost contact. Probably because her husband wasn't comfortable with keeping male friends. Or I could be other things. Just brainstorming.
    September 17 07:29 PM
  • CaptainDooRight ... he was unbiased towards everything he shared but he was able to pose great facts and present everything so that even a laymen could get it.
    September 17 07:25 PM
  • CaptainDooRight I would never guessed you were bi sexual although I have had any notion to think either way. Anything you think made you feel that way or have you always had those feelings. And yeah our tour guide went into VERY deep material. I actually got his email address and plan on writing him to stay in touch and get some external sources where I can read up on and gain more knowledge. I mean the guy is a history master. I've honestly never met another human like him before. And the best part was that...
    September 17 07:23 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Yeah just because people are more typically financially secure at older ages it seems to be the smarter thing to do before starting a family. Went on a six hour tour at the metropolitan museum yesterday and the amount of knowledge our tour guide had was unbelievable. I learned a ton about ancient Egypt and Babylon and they have tons of real artifacts that date waaaaay back. In relation to politics I'm actually completely neutral. I don't vote or serve in war.
    September 17 07:03 PM
  • CaptainDooRight I was upset about my moms opinion. She was categorizing people in NY as being rude ect. I told her that it's based on viewpoint and perspective as I liked ALL the people I met. Very nice! Resourceful as in all my friends smoke an eighth in like two days whereas that would last me several months. So not copious amounts. Yeah peeps in California are that but also everything else too. I can't really categorize any area as everyone's different. Depends on who you talk to.
    September 17 06:41 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Haha it was curious what others assumed and conjured about me. No worries. It's a common thing. I'm actually very conservative. I'm very resourceful with weed to. I'm traveling in New York, New Jersey, and Canada right now and I got upset when my mom said 'oh that's just how people are' cuz some people are rude in New Jersey. But in actuality the people here are actually very nice and passionate. Cool, where u are.
    September 17 06:24 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Yeah haha no worries bro. Yes I do. I'm turning 30 in January. But honestly, as a side note, I've seen 13 year olds more knowledgeable than 40 years olds so I've never been concerned about people's stereotypical views towards age equaling knowledge or wisdom. You know?
    September 17 05:55 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Yes I have a wife and a kid and a full time job. I hardly even call my own relatives let alone have a drawn conversation with video which would take to much time I don't have. In written form I can at least go about my day without ignoring my responsibilities.
    September 17 04:02 PM
  • YakNips I can't even begin to say how much I despise that kind of pseudo-meaningful new age hippie blathering.
    September 16 08:21 PM
  • CaptainDooRight I've got a family so I would never have time for Skype nig.
    September 16 03:11 PM
  • CaptainDooRight sure understood, and i agree i prefer face to face with booze too, so... what's the next best place?
    September 15 09:52 PM
  • CaptainDooRight and now actually your questioning is making me wonder if I come off that way, I have no idea how I'm perceived by the outside world so hearing what you think of me would be cool too, and yes I'm trying to have a serious conversation with you
    September 15 09:43 PM
  • CaptainDooRight you're only person here whom seems intelligent enough to have a real conversation with, so...
    September 15 09:41 PM
  • CaptainDooRight ill be traveling out of state for the next 9 days so ill try to reply as often as possible.
    September 15 09:04 PM
  • CaptainDooRight OK, then I'll start. alternate realms topic, go...
    September 15 09:02 PM
  • CaptainDooRight sup bro lets talk life science ect. whats on your mind, lets keep the discussion as unbiased and factual based on reasonings as possible, agreed, see ya soon :]

    August 23 02:12 PM
  • clercqie Oh and I see you asked Ty for recs to female artists. Might I add Marissa Nadler to the list, if you haven't heard July already?
    August 23 01:56 PM
  • clercqie Crash course for classic, UK-based progressive house: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1sLhOcP8g4 Absolute classic, this. And witch house is just a really stupid term for a very RnB-heavy take on electronic music, a couple years back.
    August 23 01:55 PM

    August 15 06:22 PM
  • bakkermaarten007 I value sincerity very much in a person and that's why it sometimes repulses me that I have to think sometimes to do what I deem just, that it doesn't always come natural. I think you are quite a moral person yourself either. Especially given your sometimes 'moralising' nature (which is good btw,). Anyways, have a nice evening.
    August 13 07:34 PM
  • bakkermaarten007 I'll have you know that I take these internet comments lightly. But over time and looking back at past comments I do realize that you think I put on some facade about being a nice guy, right? Well, it's a little bit of both: a little bit sincerity and a little bit controlled behaviour if you must. I don't pretend to be nice guy nor do I act that way in real life. Actually, I have a lot of hatred and misanthropy in me but I try to counter that with my principles I set to myself.
    August 13 07:32 PM
  • IWillReturn I would knock you the **** out in the pit bitch.
    August 10 02:07 AM
  • FeedingNetherlands Boring, try harder next time.
    August 9 01:33 PM
  • FeedingNetherlands Oh man, I finally remembered our previous encounter, I can't believe you're still such a drag, now I don't want to be your friend at all. I don't want to start a riot or some s***, but you're definitely the last person on this website to call someone boring. I'm gonna remove all my stupid posts in your shoutbox, but you suck too.
    August 9 01:14 PM
  • evilford oh and demilich released a compilation of everything they've ever recorded...there was some stuff on there I haven't heard so that was pretty sweet, includes nespithe too so it's probably the greatest thing ever sold
    August 8 01:47 PM
  • evilford yeah I figured haha...uhhh I'm not fantastic at keeping up with new stuff. but dead congregation and incantation are my two faves from this year, there's also a new Diocletian album out that's really good and howls of ebb I hear is really good but I haven't gotten around to listening to it yet. new autopsy and morbus chron albums are great. new impetuous ritual is good too. electrocution has a new album and it's awful. that's abt all I know lol
    August 8 01:43 PM
  • IWillReturn You're such a little ****.
    August 7 09:45 PM
  • evilford it's kind of like goofy death metal from the late 80s/early 90s but it f****** rules, here's one of my fav songs from them https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpwY6ra1ASs
    August 7 01:57 PM

  • oltnabrick are ur parents at home? do you own your own apartment? are you in college? do you live in america?
    March 19 09:30 AM
  • oltnabrick s?n?o?w? fart
    March 19 09:26 AM
  • osmark86 concrete may have been the wrong word, I was more emphasizing a standardized way. but I agree with you that it doesn't tell the bigger picture. someone can have a higher grade in a subject than you while not fully comprehending all of the subject matter's core principles if, say, a test was based on memorizing certain concepts/definitions/whatever. I'll have a read about that and thanks for sharing.
    March 11 01:21 PM
  • osmark86 as flawed as it is it is still a concrete way of measuring performance and making selections from an institution/employer's point of view for one. either way, I'm curious as to what those experiments are for various other ways of assessing knowledge and quantifying it (assuming that's even part of it). please share mate.
    March 11 12:51 PM
  • osmark86 btw, nice discussion about the state of education. must say I agree with you on many points you made. my outlook on it was merely from the current standpoint of how the world spins etc.. In the words of mr. Zappa "If you want to get laid, go to college. If you want an education, go to the library."
    March 11 12:37 PM
  • CaptainDooRight best wishes ma nig

    December 12 01:35 PM
  • anarchistfish yeah I was high when I read your message.ah that road trip will be sweet. I've got quite a bit of work too but it's only first year stuff which doesn't count to my degree so I'm not gonna complain too much.
    December 8 07:17 PM
  • anarchistfish buzzin. what you been up to?
    December 7 12:43 AM
  • anarchistfish "The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us", I think I've heard of that before somewhere...Anyway, thanks. Might give it a go at some point.

  • tommygun ah i got ya, well i wish you good luck man hopefully you can get your hands on a scholarship
    April 8 06:05 AM
  • tommygun yeah man I'm on FB I don't use it much but feel free to add me - tom flinn
    April 8 04:34 AM
  • tommygun yeah sorry I don't know much about this stuff man! I know that aus citizens are well looked after with tuition fees etc but not sure how it works for foreign students... I imagine there is some sort of scholarship program though. a lot of students come from asia that can barely speak english too though but I think they pay their way in
    April 8 04:32 AM
  • tommygun not sure about unis in the other states but i think the one i go to has some sort of accommodation setup but the only people that use it are foreigners or people from the country. the city i'm in is quite small so most people live really close anyway. my house is ten minutes by bus from the uni
    April 8 04:24 AM
  • tommygun and people are mostly friendly, in cities they tend to keep to themselves but are polite. country people here are some of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet
    April 8 04:07 AM
  • tommygun dude wolfy continuing from the intriket thread - melbourne is a really cool city and easy to get around, i'd actually like to live there myself for a few years. aus is a little bit expensive to live in (mainly for petrol and food etc) but rent isn't too bad. i only work 1 or 2 days a week while studying and basically live off government handouts with no worries
    April 8 03:52 AM
  • toxin. But while I don't mind talking to people on Sput, I'm also so different from most people (e.g. I don't use "gay" as a pejorative, I don't smoke and rarely even [underage] drink, academics get full priority for me) that it seems almost pointless to be FB friends about since just about the only thing I share in common with most users (except maybe you) is music. Nothing intellectual

  • toxin. "Anonymity enables you to be honest here" is actually exactly what it is. You can probably conclude a lot about me from that fact, but regardless, there are simply some things I can post here that I'd hope never gets linked with "me." It's not really anxiety though, just cautiousness. I mean it's really just one review, so I could just ask for that to bed and then I'd have no problem with it. Actually associating with people from this site isn't a problem for me though.
    April 7 07:06 PM
  • toxin. It's not that I'm concerned about being bothered by people. But in like in one of my reviews I'm really candid because I know the person whom I refer to will never know "I" wrote it. So more generally, I can be honest on this site due to the anonymity. I figure if I start adding people from Sput there might be a link there, which is something I'd want to avoid. And yeah, my FB is like completely tied with my real life identity, esp. for communication with people I don't see daily.
    April 7 08:49 AM
  • toxin. ah gotcha. i like to keep sputnik and facebook (well actually just real life) completely separate though, so that (and like g ) wouldn't work unfortunately.
    April 7 08:28 AM
  • toxin. haha sure, although I'm not too fond of shoutbox discussions that aren't comprised of bite-sized posts because of the character limit. I mean I don't mind derailing threads but I can respect ya for avoiding doing that lol

  • HillaryClitTounge wait, was what was that? 'waaah i can't carry on a debate for 1 min so I win because you aren't good enough to debate me!' You are an embarrassingly ignorant old man trying to justify your self worth which can't be done.
    March 21 07:11 PM
  • tommygun agreed dude JT is life i don't care who knows it! she'll understand when i light some candles and fuk her hard with strawberry bubblegum playing in the background

    February 18 08:17 PM
  • anarchistfish My Iceage review got a lot of flak. Would be cool if you could give it a quick read and say what you think of it
    February 18 07:05 PM
  • SgtPepper That's really cool. I'm familiar with Hobbes' Leviathan and Wealth of Nations, because we discussed them in school but I've never actually read them from start to finish, just a few parts. How are they? Leviathan has some very fascinating views on social contract.
    February 13 06:03 AM
  • SgtPepper Haha, sorry about that, mate. That's quite an ambitious career choice, I wish you the best of luck. I wanted to study business as well as I was hoping to get into the financial aspect of film production. I figured you lived in Germany, I've never been there but I know it's a great place to live and visit. I dont know how America lives up to Germany, but I figure the economic state and overall quality of life must be very similar.
    February 13 12:38 AM
  • SgtPepper Thanks, I appreciate it. I'm studying film and writing, journalism and literature mostly. I could see myself being reviewer in the future, but who knows. What about you man? Are you in college?
    February 12 08:59 PM
  • SgtPepper I agree. There's a lot of emotions and dynamics on the album, I meant chill as relaxing, but there's also exciting moments in there as well. And yeah, when I saw the name wolf I was sure it was you. Thanks again, man.
    February 12 07:34 PM
  • SgtPepper There's a few women in jazz, but as you said, the majority are men. Also, I liked the mood of the album as well. It's very chill, really easy to listen to.
    February 12 08:50 AM
  • SgtPepper Thanks, man, that's kind of you to say. It's funny that you mention that though because I've spaced out so many times while listening to music on the subway, I missed my stops once actually. I know her from Hidden Orchestra, and I was a little surprised to see that the album went in a different direction than their music. It's a really great album though. Happy to hear you like it.
    February 11 11:02 PM
  • SgtPepper Thanks. What did you think of the album?
    February 11 08:19 PM
  • coneren Check out my new review
    February 2 07:14 AM
  • DeadToPain I sent you a friend request, Id your post for you.
    January 29 06:57 AM
  • DeadToPain I think I'd have a lot to learn from you about German, and European socio-political situations, we'll have to exchange e-mails or something. All I really know about Germany right now is what my friend who did an exchange program there about 8 years ago, I'm sure a lot has changed. And I'm with you on the personality aspect, we're all here for the same reasons, we have a common bond over music fanaticism, that's good enough for me. The internet is a weird and ego-maniacal place.
    January 20 11:26 AM
  • DeadToPain ..than back in the ay. I'm also quite a bit older than the average user, so I tend to be out of my element. I'm 31, so that makes me ancient by this site's standards. I haven't quite kept current on much music these days either since most of the genres I like are sorta overcrowded and stale, but this site still has pretty good taste. I've had fun being a part of it recently. I need to start writing reviews though.
    January 20 10:56 AM
  • DeadToPain I know a lot of the European countries are still dealing with the growing pains of becoming a "nation" and that nationalism is becoming an issue. I will say that I'm not well-versed on the social political climate of Germany aside from the fact that there's still a ton of racial hoopla people still freak out about. Don't forget WWII wasn't that long ago in the grand scheme of things. I left for a long time due to the douchiness of a ton of the members, but that seems to be a little bit better..
    January 20 10:54 AM
  • DeadToPain It's trying to indoctrinate the person you're arguing with. To me, that's the lowest form of human interaction. Trying to convince someone of your beliefs by using emotions as a tool is ineffective and harms the discourse process. I'm glad you started talking to me, I've been a member here for a long time and never really got much response. I like being a part of it. Thanks!
    January 20 09:22 AM
  • DeadToPain I find that Europeans have a far better grasp of social and political simply by birth. Europe is far ahead of us when it comes to bigotry and ignorance, not that it doesn't have it's own hurdles to overcome. Critically thinking REQUIRES one to take their feelings out of it, if you don't, you're not being critical, you're being reactionary. There is a huge difference. There is nothing wrong with being reactionary in it's own place, but I detest it when people are trying to "debate".
    January 20 09:19 AM
  • DeadToPain Some women are using the act of male-shaming and emotion to create this vacuum where rationality is discouraged lest you be labeled as some misogynistic apologist. Being equipped with a penis doesn't mean you are inherently evil or subscribe to the thought that women should be subjugated, the same as I'm not a bigot towards others of differing ethnic backgrounds or sexualities. It's insanity truthfully.
    January 20 06:55 AM
  • DeadToPain Hey man. I'm pretty actively involved in the feminist movement (as much as a guy can be). I respect women, I was raised by my Mother and Sister, I couldn't have higher value for the effort and heart and soul it takes to be a female in a definitely patriarchal society. All that said, it doesn't mean that you should just dismiss facts because emotion runs high. Sure, the thought of rape is disturbing and disgusting, but the thought of using it as a tool as a means to an end is equally disgusting.
    January 20 06:51 AM
  • CaptainDooRight true dat
    January 17 08:02 PM
  • CaptainDooRight yup and its all out of money, those large fast food companies and even the fda have conspiracy's against them which they are money more than trying to provid healthy food for people, but everyone knows that, and its like a snowball affect, bad diets lead to many other problems, mental and physical
    January 17 07:19 PM
  • CaptainDooRight so true look at those runners who can run for days but have no muscle physique, and our bodies have instilled in us a radar as to what we need and how much we need. hence, if everyone ate to satisfaction that wouldn't be as fat, a lotta people eat on impulse or over anxiety which is understandable but they should be using other stress relievers other than food
    January 17 06:58 PM
  • CaptainDooRight well diet is just what we eat, im not into rash techniques, however, I do try to focus on at least eating well, and balanced
    January 17 06:39 PM
  • CaptainDooRight im not big on supplements, however, I do consume the powder from time to time to up my intake, however if i had enough money for meat i would do that instead anyday
    January 17 06:25 PM

  • anarchistfish Not to say there aren't many selfish and evil s***s in the world
    January 10 08:35 PM
  • anarchistfish Ah right.Well I used to be, then I realised that humanity as a whole is constantly developing and progressing and it's arrogant, let alone stupid, to judge 'humanity' as a whole based on these relatively sparse and generally decried events caused by exceptional people
    January 10 08:33 PM
