  • Britch2tiger So I noticed you have an extensive jazz palette, so I was wondering if you can enlighten me regarding jazz quality:What are qualities that make up a "bad" jazz album?

  • BrianE Thanks for the praise on my review! Seems like there aren't many jazz fans around here, so it's nice to see someone else who is.

  • aok amon tobin (probly permutation) for something wild, bonobo (all are good) for something mellow, thievery corporation (the mirror conspiracy) for something smooth. most of ferociouslettuce's early lists are about trip hop so feel free to use those as guides

  • mcjewjew Thanks dude. If you didn't like the first record, I would go with either the self-titled (still a little weird, but much more mellow) or Loaded which is more pop-oriented.

  • patrickfannon No problem, man. I'm sorry you did not enjoy the record, but you are not really missing much in the context of this year's musical output. I highly recommend The Dodos' "No Color", Explosions In The Sky's "Take Care, Take Care, Take Care," The Flashbulb's "Love As A Dark Hallway", Laura Stevenson and The Cans' "Sit Resist", The Middle East's "I Want That You Are Always Happy", Scale The Summit's "The Collective", and The Sea and Cake's "The Moonlight Butterfly." I think you'd probably dig them.

  • sublimefan1991 yea man and i've been waiting like 3 years for this new album. if the past two songs are any indication of the new sound, it's looking like a waste of 3 years.
    June 10 07:21 PM
  • sublimefan1991 hey man, you seem to def know your coldplay. their new single's ****ing terrible though, amirite?
    June 5 04:55 AM

    May 5 01:56 PM
  • aok depends on you though. I'd recommend you Aphex Twin (electrobeaty but super chill and phenomenal easy to listen to) first, and then the other three are great if you want either a 'post punk' take on indie (arctic monkeys), the origins of indie (the shins) or prog/metal (tool). arctic monkeys are the lightest and easiest to get into, but there are rewards (albeit completely opposite ones) to be reaped with both the shins and tool
    March 19 03:21 PM
  • aok The Shins - Oh, Inverted World to start, Chutes Too Narrow is probly their best, but Wincing the Night Away is way underappreciated (also check out the Garden State soundtrack for tracks by similar minded bands the movie's great if it hits you right...)Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am comes first probly, but I actually like favourite worst nightmare more.Tool - Lateralus or Aenima to start. Then 10,000 days if you get there. I haven't actually gotten to Undertow yet.
    March 19 03:10 PM
  • aok i adore your logo -- but you could do with some aphex twin (ambient 85-92) in your life ;)
