I'm finishing up school in May (basically already done seeing as my classes dont matter at this point) and then I'm moving to Chicago to be a consultant for IBM.  | bloc I program the tests and work with the lab techs on how the test should be performed and then I write the final report/updates for the client.

| bloc I did nuclear engineering at uni, and couldn't find s*** after I graduated, so I went back to college to get a quick mechanical engineering diploma in a program that had one year co-op. I managed to land that year long co-op as an engineering lab tech and then when I finished the college program I got hired back and eventually moved up as an engineering specialist. My company tests pipes under diff pressure/temp so that they can validate or specify to an ASTM standard.

Coincidentally, I majored in engineering too, so FINALLY I work as an engineering up north in Aurora. Been there for about a year now. I actually interned there for a year too during school so that's why your Kijiji gig got me all excited haha. Dude, that one year of engineering exp will go a LONG way trust me.

| Feather Being a pseudo adult is great. Ive definitely really enjoyed picking up internships and co-ops. Extends the fun of college while still gaining real world experience.

| Feather Hold up, you're taking a full year off for your internship...? Thats insane (and awesome). I am still not completely sure exactly what I wanna do. I am not very interested in manufacturing though (I worked for GE Lighting for awhile and it was pretty lame). I am definitely interested in analytics and so far I am really enjoying working for United in continuous improvement. Its also hard to beat United's flight benefits when it comes to traveling.

| Rhyme haha yea im the odd one out. i get made fun of for picking a program that'll lend me jobless. hopefully not tho lol. on the plus side my textbooks are cheap while they shell out $500. i dont have enough space on my phone to showcase my taste as a whole so no one really gets to see the popular hip hop/pop i like but rather the stuff that no one really knows about that i adore. showing people the music i like on my phone seems like a good idea tho, prevents me from explaining genres and stuff.

| Rhyme in terms of meeting up, i end at 12 on thursdays and fridays so we can meet on those days at whatever time you want and at any location. i'll have you know that i have a bad sense of direction so i'll probably get lost haha.

| Rhyme i actually met someone with shounen taste, from what i can tell at least. she likes attack on titan and one piece so i got talked to her about it for a bit and she seemed pretty nice. she didnt finish psycho pass because she didnt like akane which kinda made me upset because i dont think shes all that bad. but yea i aint about that shounen life tho.

| Rhyme i mainly play single player games too but my friend wanted to join anyway. they'll be playing games like dota and league of legends which isnt for me. only reason i joined was because i saw that they might be playing super smash bros which i'd be down for. its pretty cool that you have someone who'll listen to your recs. the only person who's interested in mine irl is my sister who really only likes hip hop. my friends arent really interested in what i listen to or think i have s*** taste lol

| Rhyme any idea what kind of music that friend listens to? i'd be interested cuz im always down to try new music. when i see my friend again i might ask her for a mixtape. all i know is that her favourite band is the cure and knows a bunch of other bands like that like joy division and talking heads. im not sure what kind of movies ryerflix shows, i asked what they do there and they get like advanced screenings or something like that which sounds cool

| Rhyme i feel weird about asking what music people like cuz it eventually boils down to them asking what music i like and i dont want to scare them off by telling people i like death and black metal or have to explain what shoegaze is or what "true" emo/screamo is so i end up giving them a vague answer which doesnt help at all in a conversation. its kind of frustrating but im sure i'll find somebody

| Rhyme most of my friends got into some sciences or in engineering. specifically, biomedical, biology, computer science, chemical engineering, and biomedical engineering. there some other ones but i cant remember them lol some friend i am.

| Rhyme "bad, bad friends" lol yeah i thought we were supposed to go to anime club together but we signed up for clubs due to our different schedules so i signed up first while they decided not to until i find out the quality of the club. not sure how to feel because when signing up, we're supposed to write our favourite anime so i saw some lame shounen stuff (ugh) but im still hoping for the best!!

| Rhyme the other clubs that i've joined were ryerflix (film watching club) which i joined because apparently the friend i made here is involved in it, this competitive gaming one my friend wanted to join but they hardly play any of the games we like so im a bit iffy on that, and musicians club so that i might meet people with similar music tastes. and yeah im pretty afraid that their tastes will be generic shounen stuff but im keeping an open mind.

| Rhyme yeah i have mostly lectures so i dont think that its a very good setting to make friends. luckily for me, i came to uni with five other friends so it isnt so lonely there. im still hoping to meet people with similar music tastes as mine since i have no one to talk to about music irl but thats probably harder than i think haha. The friend i made was into 80s post punk which im not really into but maybe i will for her haha. i'll probably just have to open up a bit to get closer to other people.

| Rhyme but yeah either way, uni seems like its going to be exciting. i joined some clubs so i can meet new people with similar interests. i even signed up for anime club which im slightly terrified of because of the type people i think im gonna meet there which is why my friends are sending me there to test the waters. anyways, i've been meaning to check out that ping pong anime but my friend was making fun of it so i steered away from it for a while but i'll check it out if you like it.

| Rhyme in terms of classmates, some people have been pretty friendly while some act like they have no interest in making friends which is fine i guess. i havent really made any good friends that i would hang out with beyond school-related stuff except for this one girl i became friends with in orientation but we have no classes together. idk i think im just really awkward in real life and most of the friends i make are through other people so im gonna have to work on that.

| Rhyme the professors that i've met so far have been welcoming. my hs teachers were always talking about how students are just numbers to them but some of them are making an effort to learn names. my courses seem to be easy so far aside from existentialism in art and culture which i took because i took the wrong spanish class and needed something to replace it without altering my schedule too much and almost everything else was full.

| Rhyme lol i was so confused with the whole blank avatar thing. anyway - im feeling pretty comfortable with the whole transition to university. the only thing i need to get used to is getting up early cuz i got two 8am classes and it take me an hour to get there. otherwise, i've gotten used to how uni works. i really dislike having to buy textbooks, mostly because of how long the lineups are but luckily the courses i have this semester have pretty cheap textbooks so it hasnt completely eaten my wallet.

| Rhyme hey man how've you been lately? just got through my first week of uni and its been pretty ok. not much work for me to do so far since i'm in the english program so i have a lot of free time. also i've been watching ghost hound lately and its definitely more of what i've been looking for in terms of psychological horror. i've also started watching mushishi and its pretty interesting. pretty different from what i usually watch.

| Rhyme symphonia is pretty good so far except for how there are too many characters so a few of them don't really get a chance to develop and/or just feel rushed. also lack of free run is really upsetting but yeah overall its been fun so far

| Rhyme also i finally got around to watching the girl who leapt through time and i really enjoyed it and it really resonated with me so thanks for rec'ing me that. and i started and finished danganronpa as well and i gotta say that it was one of the more thrilling games i've played through recently so thanks for that as well

| Rhyme i haven't played the sequel yet cuz it's a hard game to find in stores plus i don't the money atm to afford it. i heard about ghost trick from a year ago but i never played it since the cover wasn't enough to intrigue me. but if it's a visual novel/puzzle game then i might enjoy it. i'll have to emulate later.

| Rhyme i've been really liking shinsekai yori a lot actually. i really like the dark atmosphere so far and it seems like it's going to get much darker and ****ed up. plus i really like the art style. i'll give shinigerai a shot soon if it's like SSY.

| Rhyme X might be my second favourite as well as have my favourite battle system tbh but the ending still confuses me~ like apparently Tidus was a dream the whole time or something?? also i don't really like XIII's battle system. i mean it's a cool concept (paradigm shifting to whatever suits the situation) but i only really used like two paradigms and i was able to win with most of the time save for boss battles after getting the entire team together.

| Rhyme yeah of course i've played final fantasy titles! so far, i've completed IV, VI, VII, and X. i enjoyed all of those but i would have to probably pick VI as my favourite so far. i've started XIII and IX but i never got around to finishing them. i kinda got bored towards the end of IX that i never really felt that compelled to finish it despite being in the last dungeon.

| Rhyme i've put P4 on hold cuz i'm stuck on mitsuo's boss and i've put myself in a position where i'm underleveled and when it's too late for me too grind i've been busy with school so i haven't had the time to revisit it. my sister has the psp version (she actually has the original, FES and the psp version for some odd reason) so once i'm done school, i'll have time to play start playing it and P4 too.

| Rhyme now im super excited cuz i've never been to a concert before yet becuz i wanted my first to be with someone else. i missed a couple a shows just becuz i didnt have anyone to go with and i kinda regret doing that but it'll be nice to find someone to go with for once.

| Rhyme hey dude i checked out 5cm per second recently and i really enjoyed it. the art was beautiful and i especially enjoyed the ending where the themes are all symbolized. it actually kinda resonated with me personally. btw, do you know of any psychological/horror type of anime? i dont think i've ever watched any of those kinds and im interested in watching it.

| iamSeraph ...pop punk/alt rock and indie I prefer high voices or kind of unique ones (MINUS THE BEAR, LYDIA, ANBERLIN). SKYHARBOR on the other hand has such a different sounding fronter which unfortunately sounds already over the top for me. Idk but his harmonies creep me out a little bit, even if the instrumentals are really great and the bridge was brilliant. Maybe I should listen to her full length to judge them better? | FilthyBorgir That would a good idea, also you need to listen too full length albums because most of the times the singles are s*** songs compared to the rest of the album. Hell, ever since I listened to an album from beginning to end I've enjoyed more songs that way.
