| insomniac15 Same here, I check the site almost every day but rarely comment or write something. Yeah, all good with the band, we're releasing a new album this fall, we're stoked! I listened to Sun Blood Stories, sounds cool!
| insomniac15 Hi! I'm good, thanks, how about you? I haven't heard of Sun Blood Stories, will check them out. Thanks for the recommendation!
| OmairSh Oh damnn, I hadn't seen your comments in so long I thought you were on hiatus, or just left altogether. Good to know you're still around! Haha I know man, I hadn't written a review in almost 5 years, and now just churned 5 in a month haha. Listening to stuff like this :-). (Its under 10 ratings so you'll love it too :-D) https://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/81310/Mekaal-Hasan-Band-Andholan-Special-Edition/
| OmairSh Yooo Mad, you still roaming these parts? Its been ages. How've you been dude?
| Jethro42 Hey dude! There is a new Sputnik prog tournament you might find interesting: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?listid=177103
| kascetcadettt here's a thread where you can discuss how fantastic it is to be a part of this moment: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?listid=174557 \\\ don't be scared to share the news with other guys in case i missed someone out and keep shining in the light of this beautiful rock n roll fireplate, god bless, hasanmedia represent
| kascetcadettt sieg hi it's-a me smooth brotha from the umpteenth block taggin' em trainz comin' from your favorite station, word on the street is (artuma is gay) my new album came out recently and if that's the last thing i ever do let it be, leavin' the link in your hands my man: http://poleyounger.bandcamp.com/album/go-daylight \\\ feel FREE to 1 it if u didn't like my agressive self promotion campaign, feel FREE to thank me if this album saved your life
| insomniac15 Also, SUMA's new album is really great. :D If you like sludge/doom/noise metal, this is an immersive album. Heavy as ****.
| insomniac15 Still the albums I like most this year are The Dear Hunter's Act V, David Bowie's Blackstar, Chevelle's The North Corridor, as well as Deftones' Gore, Causa Sui's Return to Sky
| insomniac15 Hey! I'm good, working, traveling, playing some gigs, the usual. With the band, we've released a new album this year, Colosseus. We're trying to book some gigs for next year and rehearse new songs. Unfortunately, we've been busier than before, so we haven't managed to do much, played only 10 gigs this year. Regarding recs, Zippo's new album is great, Zaum's too. If you haven't listened to Khemmis, do it, they're really cool. Also, Gozu's new album rocks hard.
| TheSpaceMan yea i feel ya, def a lot weaker. if the whole thing was as good as the first half then it'd be an easy 5, but tbh the album is probably a 3.5 to 4
| turnip90210 Weird. Thanks for giving it a shot, I posted in the bug thread on the forum.
| turnip90210 Yo, I can't seem to be able to add Dick Valentine's Quiet Time to the site. The thing just hangs and nothing happens. If you've got a moment, care to give me a hand? Many thanks :P
| insomniac15 The name of the album is Colosseus and it'll be out on April 4. We hope we'll have some vinyls by then too. Yeah, I love No-Man. Returning Jesus was the one I got into first. Wild Opera and Schoolyard Ghosts are both pretty awesome too (Flowermouth comes close to them as well). Have you heard Tim's solo albums? Great stuff. He also released California, Norfolk with Peter Chilvers and Flame with Richard Barbieri. I love his voice.
| Friday13th hey Mad, we need one more contestant for the prog tourney if you want in.
| insomniac15 Kendrick and Elder both had awesome albums. From last year, I love most Intronaut's Direction of Last Things (nearly perfect album IMO) and The Dear Hunter's Act IV. If you have time, check them out! With my band, we're releasing a new album on April 4. Next week we're gonna debut a new song through a blog (Outlaws of the Sun) and we're gonna play a string of shows that month and May. Hopefully the vinyls will arrive by then, because it would suck not to have them at the launch gigs lol.
| insomniac15 Hey man! Haven't seen you here in a while (I haven't been too active either). The album is good, I find it somewhere between Behind The Sun and the psychedelic pop of Phanerothyme. I have written a review, I will publish it very soon. How are you?
| Jethro42 hey man, I've made a Gazpacho's top 20 list if ever you're interested. I'm looking for some visit ;) http://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?memberid=280733
| ChoccyPhilly Not really, everything looks a bit mediocre and expensive so for now, I think I'll just get tickets to colour festival. How about you?
| ChoccyPhilly Ah that's a shame but the walk isn't too bad and there's still time to swap if you find someone willing
| ChoccyPhilly Ahh you're near me then. F, G and H are part of the same extension and are literally opposite one another. Pretty much, I got the cheapest thing available, so no en suite. Did you want to be on Hes East or something?
| SharkTooth No, but they seem cool, gonna bookmark them
| ChoccyPhilly F block. I'm in the extension across the road, so it's not quite in the nucleus. How about you?
| SharkTooth Forgot to do that, checkin right now.Btw congrats on getting accepted
| ChoccyPhilly Yeah, I got accepted! Gonna be in Derwent college and that's good to hear for you too. I'll see you around if you want, haha, how insane.
| SharkTooth Hey Mad, haven't seen you lately, where have you been?
| insomniac15 Nope, I haven't. Forgot about Motorpsycho lately, I have been jamming other bands, but I will check it out. Thanks for reminding me about it.
| SharkTooth it's a good deal for the entire package, but yeah it's still ****ing expensive (also I wonder if Raul's ordered it...)
| SharkTooth yeah I read about it, it's in this entire package too, like the live dvd, book, and all that stuff, I want the thing badly
| SharkTooth https://allthemwitches.bandcamp.com/album/a-sweet-release-ep
| SharkTooth I'm just gonna say "it's still trending so it counts", and hope it works
| Cactupuss check these guys out, they are related to Astrosoniq, like a more funky version of the band by some of their membershttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbyw9PhEHmWt941JSG2GPlA
| SharkTooth Honestly I'm leaning towards a 4 myself, and btw I've just started a review for it, the fact that it's one of the top 10 trending albums on Sputnik right now makes it more than worthy for a feature(:
| eloimayano Yeah; if it helps, it's probably the worst song of the album ;)
| insomniac15 Hey! No, I don't think so. It's been a busy week and I have to receive a couple of promos to start working on 2 reviews. I was thinking Greg might do it, but he was planning on covering Torche. You wanna review it? If yes, then do it! :D It's an awesome album, I love it (even though I only managed to listen to it twice) and it's better not to go unnoticed.
| eloimayano Have you heard the new SW album? Still trying to catch my breath...
| SharkTooth checked out Quadrant again, damn it's better than I remember!
| SharkTooth checking out Quadrant right now, pretty cool so far
| SharkTooth Damn, I can't seem to find the time to jam anything this week, I'll try to get to 'em on Friday
| SharkTooth I don't think so, been meaning to check them out for quite a while though
| Calc I dunno why i though of you when I heard this but you may like: http://deadempires.bandcamp.com/album/secret-snakes-silent-serpent
| xaderfos Yeah, it's really not an 1...I can't even remember when and why I rated like it like this so I removed my rating and I'll listen it again
| insomniac15 Yeah, I've been listening to Fragments a lot in the past month too! Cool stuff. I haven't had time to review much either (besides the Marilyn Manson record). I'll start working on the new Colour Haze record's review because it's been overlooked. Still, I find it quite dull TBH. She Said was a lot more expansive, this one feels kinda rushed.Btw, if you still want to buy our new CD, grab it here - http://oziumrecords.com/Shop/Details/1662 :D
| insomniac15 Hey man! How are you? Haven't talked with you in a while now. All's good?
| Hurricanslash Trust Us is brilliant as well, it has Vortex Surfer, Hey Jane and Ozone, three of my all-time favs! Motorpsycho is truly an exceptional band in all means of the word.
| Hurricanslash I'm going to finish the phase I already started, and then I'll probably start from the very beginning. You really should get more into their more 60s influenced material. It's pop on the highest level, with a good shot of jazz.
| Hurricanslash Yo, dude, if you're interested, I'm going to continue my Motorpsycho reviews I started 4 years ago. Just so you know.
| SpaceZeppelin Have you ever listened to spidergawd? They are very similar Motorpsycho...
| RadicalEd Have you finally listened to: Elder - Dead Roots Stirring?
| SharkTooth cool, I've been moving a bit towards jazz myself(mainly John Coltrane 'cause his stuff is GOOD)
| SharkTooth That's cool, you looking at any genres in particular?
| SharkTooth I think I have heard it earlier, but I don' remember much from it.Btw have you heard Mantra Machine-Nitrogen? I've been digging that album a lot lately
| Onirium I definitely will, I see the growing potential the album has, I just doesn't click. But to reassure you, I must say really liked A Tower of Silence.
| RadicalEd The messenger album you rec'd on your 2014 list is really really sweet.
| Friday13th Dude make a schedule to jam prog for 2 hrs every 3 days
| Friday13th Put down the nog and bring out the prog. Time is ticking and you have a day left to jam and vote!
| insomniac15 That's cool, thanks! I didn't know you're active on other websites.
| SharkTooth so...you manage to find a stream for the new Colour Haze yet?
| Friday13th You have one day left to jam and vote, mr. progcrastinator.
| insomniac15 I'll we transfer them to you. Gimme you mail.
| xenocide. Thanks for the recs, I've heard Ethereal Riffian, will check out the rest.
| SharkTooth http://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?listid=153947 you should suggest an album on here
| insomniac15 it's online, but i don't want to post it on the review page lol. it's not nice
| insomniac15 newalbumreleases.net/71854/motorpsycho-the-motorpnakotic-manuscripts-2014/
| SharkTooth You think you'll be able to do it? I've pretty much set my eyes on two albums(Astrokraut and Echo Tail), and I can't really find a stream anyway /:
| insomniac15 I found out they were gonna release something new, there's a video of the song Paradise on the web. I wasn't aware it's already out lol. I'm curious to hear it. Still, I have to write the Stonebride review, if you have time write about CH :)
| insomniac15 Aaand here's is the entire album, yaaaay! https://methadoneskies.bandcamp.com/album/eclectic-electric
| insomniac15 https://soundcloud.com/methadone-skies/devil-jr
| insomniac15 I just found out the Stonebride album is coming out on Friday, I have to start writing about it lol. I'm still finishing the Motorpsycho review. Dammit! since when became December such a busy month in music? Happy to hear you like the song. We'll gonna reveal the other songs tomorrow and Thursday (I wanted to get them all out at once, but the other guys said we should build some hype). The other one with vocals is a lot crazier lol, you'll hear it. From the most basic song it became very frantic
| insomniac15 https://soundcloud.com/methadone-skies/tatabong-feat-davide-straccione
| insomniac15 I'm sure you'll find some time do review it! Here's Stonebride's previous record https://stonebride.bandcamp.com/album/summon-the-waves . It's really cool. Motorpsycho released The Motorpnakotic Fragments, which should be a compilation of 8 unreleased songs, but they sound very much alike. I think it's in fact a new album.
| insomniac15 Also, the new Stonebride, which is really good. There are some delays with the CD copies, so the guys don't really know a release date. I'm waiting. You should definitely review it, you have more time now when the holidays come! Or do you have a busy schedule?
| insomniac15 We're happy with everything, but it should've seen the light of day months ago lol. Now, we're ready to move on and don't have it yet in our hands. After we print the CDs we'll send them to Ozium Records and hopefully find a proper label to print further copies and promote it. I'm planning to review the new Motorpsycho which is a compilation but sounds like a proper album (the 4x7' vinyls have been sent to those who ordered and the CD too). I have to rush a bit to see it featured lol
| JJKeys It's not the end of the world - also, I noticed you've been digging Crippled Black Phoenix recently, did I mention I saw them live earlier this week?
| insomniac15 Hopefully it'll be on the 2014 lists haha. We should release it Monday or Tuesday online. Still, I can't tell exactly because we are waiting for the final tracks. Anyway, we'll try and record the new stuff next Fall, maybe we can get everything out during Spring 2016. We're gonna master it somewhere else, because this is what we've been waiting for since August/September. I don't think I'll manage to review it. I have two other reviews I'm planning and the holidays are coming lol. Review it! :D
| insomniac15 Hey! All's fine, busy times. We are finishing the artwork for the album to print it next week. Hopefully we finish everything with the album this weekend (I'm not promising anything anymore lol, because it's been such a long time) Still we have a release show and need to get it done. Meanwhile we are working on new music. We have 2 new songs which are quite heavy and cool. We're gonna play them very soon lol. How are you? I heard some tracks off the new Spidergawd, sounds really good.
| JJKeys Aren't they just? I'm in the process of writing a review for Shiny Eyed Babies, hopefully it'll give them a little more attention. Also major lol - I think I accidentallyd my 2014 list in a drunken haze, ahh well!
| SharkTooth Dude check this out! doctorsmoke.bandcamp.com
| JS19 You're telling me, i want to like it more so bad : (
| JS19 Well yeah man! I just enjoy her new album a lot that's all : )
| JJKeys I don't plan to review it, at least for a long time anyway. I've done a couple of 5's already, I need to balance it out with some not-so-good reviews. Feel free to give it a shot if you want to review A Tower of Silence yourself
| Mongi123 Haha well I know how you like to hear more obscure stuff.
| Mongi123 Sup dude check my latest review for some lesser known music
| SharkTooth I live pretty far south dude(Dallas, Texas)Which sucks because it doesn't actually snow here until like the last week of December, and when it does, the city shuts down after 2 inches
| SharkTooth That's awesome, what's the album? Also I'm good, living in the one part of my country that hasn't received snow is kinda lame but still...
| JJKeys Ooooffft - I'd say AToS is their best (Definite 5.0 for me although it's all relative. It might move down if, God forbid, there's an album I'll like even more). HtB is still bloody brilliant, but AToS just has that edge, IMO anyway.
| JJKeys Oh my lord you -finally- gave AToS a rating! It's a shame it's too low
| SharkTooth hey mad. it's been a while since we last talked, how are ya doing?
| OmairSh http://grooveshark.com/#!/s/Kaykra/2tHtzn?=5, http://grooveshark.com/#!/s/50 Years/2tGPKf?=5
| OmairSh Welcome welcome http://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?memberid=673174
| JohnnyoftheWell Hey Mad, your review for Ocean Towers has caught my eye - do you think I'll dig? Also, Schizoid Lloyd is awesome; I'm half considering reviewing it, but you've already said most of the things I'd want to :P
| Underflow Nah, I think I'll let someone else tackle that album. Have enough on my plate as it is :)
| OmairSh You're killing it dude, that's amazing. Guess your bandcamping paid off. The band's will remember you for a while, since you've also raised a bit more awareness of them. Are you reviewing elsewhere? And are you seriously considering reviewing professionally? Oh don't bother with my amateur reviews :-D.
| Thibs awesome! gets better with time as well.
| OmairSh Dude what is it with you and band's featuring your reviews. Lucky bastard :-P. You might get another CD out of this as well eh. How're things?
| insomniac15 I don't know what to say about The Mars Volta drummer being on the new 7TS. Niko always posts a lot of crazy stuff haha. I hope it's true though. Yeah, Yuri Gagarin are on Bandcamp. Same with Jastreb. Like Niko says, they are a one riff band, but it works, especially live.
| Jots now it says Oct 4... should be 11/04/2014
| Jots according to your review, that album was released on Oct. 1... might wanna edit it
| insomniac15 Yeah, Yuri Gagarin are awesome. Cool riffs with lots of echo/reverb/delay. That's what I was thinking about My Brother The Wind. The album is great, but it could've been even better with defined structures and overdubs. Yeah, I saw that. STS are awesome live, man. You should definitely see them and Jastreb if they both come. (the bassist/guitarist with a couple of other dudes :D) I wrote this on my shoutbox first lol!
| insomniac15 You should listen to Bomg! from Ukraine if you haven't. It's a cool doom band. Also, Yuri Gagarin from Sweden are really good. They have released their debut last year and it's a very cool space rock album. I have listened to My Brother The Wind. It's good and I read it was recorded in one take without overdubs, which makes it even interesting. Hopefully you can submit it to be featured :) it's been a few weeks since you wrote a review hehe.
| insomniac15 Hey. It's good, but I prefer their previous records. There isn't a We Are Them, The Summer Is Old or Roots, unfortunately. Those songs are so cool (among many others of course) I'll post a review in the next days, I haven't had time to finish it. What about you? Planning on reviewing any albums in the near future?
| SharkTooth http://palmdesert.bandcamp.com/album/pearls-from-the-muddy-hollow the best Kyuss record since Sky Valley
| Onirium Yeah, many listens are definitely more rewarding. I was just wondering, since they quite seemed to fit your taste. Been jamming the new Anubis again by the way, it definitely grows hard, it would sit a 3.5-4 for me right now
| Onirium Hey have you ever heard the band Birds and Buildings?
| SharkTooth Still, there's nothing wrong with your method tbh
| SharkTooth I usually 4/5 it if I really like what I hear so far so it shows up high on the ratings page, then every so often in my free time I check out the page and take a second look at a bunch of the stuff I rated
| SharkTooth Ratings really for me are a method of keeping track of certain albums so I don't forget about them later, it's a much more efficient way and less time consuming of keeping track than say keeping a document
| SharkTooth Here's how it goes: I rate on first listen(even when I haven't completed it) intentionally so I don't forget about the album. Later on when I have the time I give it a more thorough listen and judge accordingly.
| SharkTooth It's okay, I wrote a review for it yesterday
| SharkTooth Hey Mad., did you check out the new Orange Goblin?
| PeaceThroughNethers I like their consistency in releasing new material, but they need to settle down and write some FIRE s***.
| PeaceThroughNethers Damn son, I like so many tracks off this album. It's their best for me, nothing beats the energy and the memories it delivers.
| insomniac15 I have to finish the Lanegan review this weekend, you can write yours in the next few days. This way, it can still be featured I guess. I'll listen to it tomorrow when I get back from work, no problem. Plus, you know them better and listened to their music and I am clueless at this point lol.
| insomniac15 Hey man. I have to admit I haven't heard of the band until now. I'm writing the review for Mark Lanegan's new record so until next week I won't have time to properly check them out. I think you should review it! Is it out already?
| PeaceThroughNethers Yeah, I have Anubis on my "stuff to hear" list, don't know when though. What's up with that low Electric Six rating?
| PeaceThroughNethers Have you heard Woods - With Light And With Love? Some pretty good psych folk.
| insomniac15 Hmm, I saw Amplifier on Discogs, but I'm pretty sure you'll find it in your local record stores, I mean they're one of yours lol. I listened to Death Defying Unicorn, it's good, I don't remember if I rated it or not. I'll listen to more Pineapple Thief and Gazpacho in the near future, I've been postponing them for too long now.
| insomniac15 Well, lately there have been some cool stuff in the few record stores we have lol. It's funny that a month ago I had one Amplifier album and now I have 4, yaaaaaay! :D I only need Insider now. Yeah, it looks like we're gonna finish the new album at the end of the month. It feels as if we've been working a lifetime on it, but it's for the better of it I guess. Zaum are similar to OM, but yeah repetition is the key to their music. I listened to Little Man (TPT), it's really good!
| OmairSh Hmm, well I'm getting pretty good recs from here as well. I'll see, but I know I'm a lazy fcuk so I won't be on it much probably. Also this is one of the greatest things I've seen in a while https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54dJz_ynMcs
| insomniac15 Maaaan, I'm so happy right now! I just bought Mystoria (the media book) at about 12 euros here in a music shop lol. I would never have thought I'd see Amplifier somewhere here in Timisoara, daaaaamn! And I got it cheaper than the pre-order lol!
| JJKeys I don't have a last.fm or heard the new MBtW song, nooo. I haven't had any time for fun recently, hence the late reply and lack of lists lately, sorry!
| insomniac15 Not yet, unfortunately. The Zippo vocalist has some personal issues, but promised it'll be done by the end of the month and the other guy should be recording his stuff these days. Yeah, Sleep is cool, but in smaller doses. Om and Zaum are different as they mix really well those religious elements with doom.
| OmairSh Dude I've never seen the benefit of that site. Entice me
| insomniac15 Om is the side project of Sleep's bassist/vocalist (Al Cisneros). Two guys, bass/drums (and strings sometimes and other synths) play religious influenced doom/experimental stuff (like Cactupuss said). Zaum goes the same way more or less, but it sounds really good! Yeah, only you and a few friends know the album's not ready yet lol. The other tracks are heavier, but since two will have vocals and one will be slightly remastered (we want more power from the guitars on a segment), we chose those 2
| Cactupuss I'm not a big fan of Sleep either, but I have to confess I've jammed Sleep's Holy Mountain too many times to say that. Om are way more experimental, they have some Byzantine elements in their music, like religious chants and organs, it's weird...
| AtomicWaste I'll have to give it another spin - but I know I was just not into it at the time.
| Cactupuss I'm not a huge fan of OM, but I love some of their songs. Sometimes they're just bass and drums, other times they resemble Sleep, but usually they're boring. I like Advaitic Songs, but I don't dig the Byzantine thing much.
| SharkTooth it says on your last.fm pagehttp://imgur.com/qMtzH1f
| SharkTooth ..That Riff Worship page on last.fm...I like it :D
| insomniac15 Haha, yeah, we're still waiting for the vocals. I had to improvise. Happy to see you and others dig the song. Btw, check out these guys, they are similar to Om. Saw them on Monday here in my hometown and they were so good! Canada rules lately when it comes to stoner/psychedelic stuff lol. https://zaum.bandcamp.com/
| Cactupuss Yep, I had only listened to one song of Ocean Towers before your suggestion. I wonder why I didn't dig them more. Their sound is special, quite instrumental, with light guitars and bass-driven. Like, heavy without being heavy. Reminds me of OM actually.
| insomniac15 Hey man, how are you? Tuesday spam.https://soundcloud.com/methadone-skies/eclectic-electric :)
| SharkTooth yeah I did, but I'll figure out what's wrong later, sticking to Grooveshark ftm anyway
| SharkTooth thing is I am just learning how the scrobbler works, managed to connect it to Spotify/Grooveshark, but still trying to figure out Youtube/Bandcamp
| SharkTooth all recs are welcome! btw my last.fm is fixed 'cept for bandcamp, working on that one atm
| SharkTooth have you checked out Goat-Commune yet? it's really good!
| greg84 I'm not impressed after 2 spins. Need to listen more.
| SharkTooth Also this may be the best prog rock song ever recorded m.youtube.com/watch?v=xsCJ6BXHB3w
| SharkTooth That being said I DO check for shouts and PMs in my inbox
| SharkTooth I'm not using it much because I prefer just straight up using YouTube/Grooveshark to play music
| SharkTooth Yeah I saw you rec'ing it on some thread and figured "why not?" Lol
| Zantera The more I listen to Variations on a Dream, the more I'm starting to think it could be their best, even above Little Man. It's hard to say, I love Little Man and What We Have Sown, both are amazing, but Variations on a Dream has no weaknesses. And the strengths of Vapour Trails, Part Zero and Remember Us alone makes the album one of their best.
| SharkTooth hey you should check out ssSHEENSss-Strapping Stallions, it's an awesome stoner punk album from Finland http://sssheensss.bandcamp.com/
| Zantera 3000 Days is one of their best songs IMO.. it's too bad the energy in that song is gone on the last two albums :/
| SharkTooth Have you checked out that Kevin Gilbert album?
| SharkTooth Yeah I was just wondering considering their new album comes out pretty soon
| Zantera I like Someone Here is Missing, but I also got into the band around that time, so I might be slightly biased. It's not near the top for me though. Variations on a Dream, Little Man, What We Have Sown, Tightly Unwound and 137 are the biggest standouts for me.
| Zantera Listening to the new Pineapple Thief after having a marathon with Variations on a Dream, Little Man, What We Have Sown and Tightly Unwound was kinda depressing. :(
| SharkTooth wait a sec you listened to Cha Cha, that's one of their weaker songs,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Psuqys26J4this is much better
| insomniac15 Yeah, I was pretty bummed to read he was leaving. I thought the band would call it a day, but luckily they're still alive. Also, it appears they have a dude on vocals now? The records have a woman on vocals, I hope she's singing on the new one too. There are some awesome songs on A New Day Dawning and Far From The Sun. Roots (on ANDD) might be my favorite song of theirs, but The Summer Is Old and Waiting For The Sun (on FFTS) are awesome too. Check those two in any order and then Kaleidoscope.
| insomniac15 I dibbed it on the official dibs thread, you wanna write about it? I'm a bit skeptical, because the main guy (the guitarist/sitarist/organ player) left to study music in India. He was the backbone of the band. Still, like you said, 5 years is enough time to find some great ideas. I'll try and do an interview too.
| insomniac15 I should start a Kickstarter fund to bring Amplifier in the area lol. Raise money for 4-5 shows and everyone will be happy!
| insomniac15 Why can't they afford touring the Balkans :( we can give them the same amount of money....almost lol. Also, Tripping With Dr Faustus should be a good record if it does exist!http://echoesanddust.com/2014/09/interview-amplifier/

| SharkTooth dude you gotta check out Balkan Beat Box
| Onirium Yeah, there's still the same kind of melodies and atmospheres. But Bruce's voice is a major factor in keeping their originality and personality on Magnolia imo
| Zantera I wish I had as good music taste when I was 17, but I was kinda finding my way I guess. :P
| deathschool Yeah, man. I checked Sleep Furiously a while back. Liked it a lot. I'm going back now and listening to their other stuff.
| Onirium Well, there's plenty of 7/8 time signatures in it, to a point where it actually annoys me a little; their use of the 7/8 time sig is pretty bland and repetitive. But the complex rythms don't make the prog, and Magnolia doesn't really have a prog "spirit" (for lack of a better word) in my opinion. I guess there's still remnants of their progginess though, for example Alone at Sea and Bond. But nonetheless I can still perfectly recognize TPT when listening to Magnolia, and that's a great thing imo
| SharkTooth love the cold atmosphere on that album, really curious to check out their EPs, have you heard them?
| SharkTooth "Similar Bands: Riff, Ethereal Riffian, Phantom Riffage, Riff Cannon, Riffobia"Mad, you're awesome
| insomniac15 Eh, I think there's like 4-6 people who usually check out the obscure stuff I review or talk about (including you haha), but it's okay. If one person enjoys that band/record or starts listening I'm happy. In the end I do this for fun. They have a couple of cool records (An Amazing Dream is great, These Flowers Of Ours) and the new one is one of the best IMO. Very Brian Jonestown Massacre meets Primal Scream at times :D. This song is so good!! - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-OCUPBLi8w
| insomniac15 I saw they expanded their line-up and are recording new tunes. I'm curious to hear them. Mother Engine sounded huge at the festival we played in Germany in August. I'd love to play more shows with them (plus the guitar player helped me with a couple of cables because I was having some issues on stage). I'm currently listening to The Asteroid #4 (psych pastiche), they are cool and the album is great (since I took the promo I have to review it now lol, damn my curiosity). Also, a lot of Amplifier!
| Onirium It was probably a genuine desire, because some of the songs are still very well-crafted. It looks like the laziness hit him later, and then he wrote like four 3-minute filler tracks and organized the album kind of randomly. But yeah, I loved their alt rock influences on previous albums, but it doesn't work without their particular touch of prog, it just becomes kind of bland. But the album is saved from mediocrity by Bruce's songwriting talents though; some songs are still authentic TPT
| Zantera It might be a certain Amplifier tune. ;) Also, I assume you have a lastfm?
| Zantera http://parisinthespring.bandcamp.com/ that's my baby ;) It's mixing influences from a lot of styles, I just love making music for the fun of it, and it's quite nice being able to put your stamp on something.
| Zantera I only have a bandcamp for my musical project, where I upload my own music, but not a fan/user account though. :P But I agree that it's nice funding artists that aren't big or well known. It also makes it extra special owning an album on CD or vinyl, knowing you might be the only one in your city (or even country) who owns it.
| Zantera So I gave Cyril Snear a 4.5 for now and I even ordered the CD from their bandcamp. :) Gotta support the indie artists!
| OmairSh I wish I could take 3, it takes me 5 at least. Dud, nuh, haven chequed yet. Patience dude, patience, it's a virtue
| insomniac15 Yeah, I forgot about the different sound lol. You got the CD and didn't listen to it all the way through? Can I have it then? :D It's the easiest Amplifier record to listen to as a whole. I just got the debut and I'll be spinning that one more than Mystoria in the next weeks.
