3.5 great | Ignimbrite | June 14th 12 | It's a sludge-tinged atmospheric black metal album about the Lovecraftian mythos. How in Cthulhu's name can this be bad?

3.0 good | Gene Gol-Jonsson CONTRIBUTOR | November 5th 21 | Black Metal and Lovecraft go hand-in-hand like Sludge Metal and Lovecraft or like Sludge Metal and Black Metal. Good that we now have an official ambassador representing all of these sides of the dice (the weird three-sided dice, yes; we're dealing with Lovecraftian nightmare worlds, there are bound to be unholy dice somewhere, too). Though The Great Old Ones truly come into their own panoramic hellscape character with later releases, this is a decent initial taste of their craft. Although it is marred with stale sound and irritatingly repetitive song-writing that I have to be quite in the mood for in order to enjoy fully.

3.6 great | Erwann S. STAFF | October 15th 19 | Managing to take an unoriginal sound and give it soul: check.

4.0 excellent | Evreaia | March 12th 13 | Originality is Nihil, but that doesn't stops this from being one awesome mofo. Also don't listen to Noctis, he's drunk.
