A fairly strong album that sees Cradle Of Filth take on a more melodic and streamlined approach. The piano and orchestration work is immense, and does a great deal to enhance the feel and atmosphere of the music. Sweet guitar melodies and harmonies, often played in elaborate counterpoint litter the album, especially on tracks like Nymphetamine (Overdose and Fix versions), Absinthe With Faust and Coffin Fodder. Dani's voice is a love/hate issue for me, I like most of his raspier, throatier vocal lines and some of his spoken voice sections. But he frequently resorts to an annoying high screech and most of the vocal effects are just cheesy. The basslines are fairly standard for metal, with occassional forays out of the guitar lines, as in the song Gabrielle. A solid and impressive drum performance too, with Adrian Erlandsson favouring a more reserved, song-oriented approach rather than blasting everything in his path (which he is more than capable of, as displayed amply in Coffin Fodder).

cradles 2nd best album featuring gilded cunt, title tracks, coffin fodder, secret, swansong, and mother of abominations. its definitely too long and a lot of passages are pure filler but the good outweighs the bad

Cradle of Filth pursuits a more melodic approach in this record, leading in my opinion to one of the weakest outputs in their career. Though this album has some really good tracks it has a very flawed mid-section, with some boring songs. Probably the last tracks along with Nemesis are the best tracks in here. I also think that the instrumentals in here are amongst Cradle's weakest ones.

Although C.O.F receives quite abit of hate for their less than "kvlt"/ newer sound, this really is an enjoyable album. There sre some great themes implicated in the lyrics as well as great instrumental synchrinization and guitar tone. Dani's vocals are of probably, dare I say at their best on this album (they ring out beautifully). Some gems on this album include "Gilded Cunt", "Nymphetamine Fix", and "Gabrielle".

In one word - FANTASTIC! This album is everything that the band have to offer; rhythmic guitars, amazing blast beat patterns, deathly screeches, and much more. In part to the fact of the disappointment of 'Damnation...', this album opened up a whole new door for the band. Their sound almost evolved in this album. My personal favourite has to be "Nemesis". It's purely amazing.

Im a huge cradle fan and i gotta say this is my favourite album =). Nymphetamine Fix And Overdose are both amazing songs, and coffin Fodder really does stand out. hats off to mr.Filth!
