4.0 excellent | omnipanzer | July 18th 12 | Much lighter like "Light" but still full of poignant lyrics and great backing tracks.

3.0 good | CrazyFool84 | August 10th 12 | It feels like too long since Matisyahu soared at the top of his game, with his first pair of releases, Shake Off the Dust and Youth feeling like refreshing reggae that reinvigorated the genre. After these mind-blowing performances, it seemed as if Matthew Miller lost some of his root sound and opted for a more polished, studio-magic vibe. rWhile some of this is probably due to the fact that his original backing band is no longer in the picture, fans can only hope that Light and Spark were just a few minor blips on the radar of an otherwise promising career. 2.5 average | Zion | July 22nd 12 | If you're going to go the route of hiring Ke$ha's producer to crank out an album appealing to the new generation of top 40 pop/hip hop/club listeners, one would hope your goal is to spread a positive message that might be otherwise unattainable for said audience. But that isn't what you did. You made an album of generic, auto-tuned hits with repetitive hooks that at best are temporarily entertaining but carry no real weight and offer nothing new to anyone. I feel this way about all related music, I'm not singling him out. I thought Light did a great balancing act in offering up meaningful lyrics with hooks and beats palatable to the masses. Spark Seeker fails in that department and thus is average at best.
