Probably my favorite concept album of all time. No it's not overrated, no it's not 78 minutes of Dream Theater 'masturbating with their instruments'. Don't listen to the elitists. This album is divine.

When I was 13, and I all I knew was Trivium, I thought this "sucked". Since then I have realized that Ellie is reinventing Modern Prog and making it marketable as it once was briefly in the 70's. This album is fantastic in every fucking way, it's really inventive and different than everything else that you will hear.

Many would say that Scenes from a Memory is Dream Theater's best album. While it's one of the best Concept albums ever made, it cannot outshine the great Images and Words, my favorite Dream Theater album. Not one song on the album sounds too much like another. Sorry guys, but Scenes from a Memory doesn't have Under a Glass Moon. Many critics consider this a genre defining album for Progressive Metal, and I consider it the best one.

looking back on this in 2015 it seems a little overrated. I mean it's definitely good most of the time,and Ellie's voice is gorgeous, but what is going on with the structure and the seemingly random mash of beat styles gah

It really seems like Ellie can't do any wrong in the music industry right now. Every song she's involved in and single she puts out instantly becomes a hit. It's fun, and easy to get into music that still has feeling and a spirit behind it. The album itself is solid from start to finish, it has it's peaks; Figure 8, Hanging On, My Blood. And is a little low a couple other times with Anything Could Happen and some tracks near the end. At least it's where the album gets its weakest but its still a solid listen. rShe's doing well and if she continues her trend she'll get bigger and bigger and she deserves every piece of her popularity and fame. She has the talent to back it up.

There is a great flow between tracks and the dark, brooding atmosphere perfectly suits Goulding's expressions of woe. An album very well done.

Fucking incredible pop album, so much good about this. Her voice is about as strong as they get with a wide range and some beautiful tones to it, and the music is interesting and really well written and varied. My Blood is the best jam on here but the whole thing rules. If you are looking for one pop album from 2012 that DOESNT fucking suck, then it would be this. easily one of the best albums of the year.

While a major draw for listeners here is the more mature, darker sound that breaks from her sun-soaked pop sound on Lights, I actually prefer her debut to this one. Some of the tracks feel too gimmicky in comparison, and while I can see the overly upbeat stuff getting annoying, some of this has a similar effect. Goulding is still a great talent and will be fun to watch in the future.
