Another amazing offering by Immolation after their perfect sophomore. This one is unfortunately held back a good bit by weak production and mixing. Due to these you can barely make out the amazing polyrythmic drumming, and it all sounds a bit weak.

I think the songwriting (on the first half of the album at least) started to improve on this album, but the production fell off a cliff which kind of cancels out the positive vibes I had for Failures for Gods. The second-half of the album will make you fall asleep due to how repetitive and bland it is.
The lyrics on this record declined in quality as well. The chant in No Jesus, No Beast is the most childish shit I've ever heard.

The production really kills the album for me. If there is one album where the sound of the drums ruin the album, this is it. The drums sound so flat and weak, particularly the bass drum, I just want to slap the engineer.
