In their careers, Saves The Day has been across the spectrum of pop-punk, to the pop-heavy side of it to the punk-heavy side of it. Here, they are most certainly in the latter style, as fast-paced, high-energy, very catchy tunes permeate the tracklist. With very fun performances from drummer Bryan Newman and vocalist Chris Conley, it's rare that the album doesn't turn in an entertaining moment. The lack of a true standout track here does unfortunately lead to some of the tracks bleeding into each other, but everything remains at a solid level, maiming a remarkable consistency. Their sound was nostalgic even back then, with very endearing and relatable lyrics peppered over the songs. That, combined with the high energy and punk attitude, really helps Can't Slow Down overcome its problems with the somewhat samey songwriting. It's a very good starting point for one of the most consistent pop-punk bands in the genre.
