Super duper fun math rock with prog metal crunchiness and a strong focus on drums - sometimes too much idk? At 17 mins, this is a fun lil EP that, although wanky by nature, nevertheless manages to feel a lil shallow - oh no another lack-of-songwriting jab? Yes m'boi: this is aesthetically pleasing, but ain't much more than that.

Colorful, catchy, groovy, and produced when the members were just out of kindergarten, practically, Newborn Sun is a wonderful achievement. The record lays the groundwork for Chon's signature sound; though at this point it's way back in their discography, Chon still bust out Bubble Dream at live shows. Above all, the record is a whirlwind, cohesive listen that still transports me 10000 listens later.

Some great instrumental work, however the songs feel empty, due partly to the lack of vocals. The interlude tracks are disappointing as well, being too short to leave much impact. Instrumentally proficient, but it's all flash and no substance.

An extremely colourful and catchy second release from the SoCal instrumental wizards. This is definitely a softer affair compared to the much heavier debut, but it still brings the heavy and the wank whilst still being pleasant to listen to. A couple interlude tracks and riffs feel a little empty andor half baked which hold this back from being truly amazing. Despite that, this is still definitely worth your time.
