A fantastic punk-jazz riot party of an album, MYD lay down some seriously funky sounds that jump up and smash you in the face.

Melt Yourself Down debut record is a burning slab of playful afrobeat and tropical dance-punk, as tribal as it is ruthlessly "in-your-bitch-ass-face". It does tread the same path throughout its entire runtime, but it's a funky path.

Melt Yourself Down have figured it out. The 'it' being something so simple that I wonder how are there not more bands like this. 'It' is that they combine afrobeat, middle-eastern folk song-writing, tropical jazz, dub and psychedelic rock for some top notch wilderness. The album never slows down and feels like a nonstop rager party.
