The remix is heavayyy. I don't really remember the original mix, but this is so crisp. Apart from that, typical Pelican record: enjoyable sludgy post-rock.

I'm going to say about Pelican the same thing Paul Pierce said about the Toronto Raptors' disappointing 2015 playoff run: Pelican don't have the 'it' factor. They make mildly enjoyable instrumental post-metal that is by no means unlistenable but is also not in any way memorable.

Forever Becoming is an enjoyable instrumental release. It's well-performed, and the production is excellent, however it is at times overly repetitious. Some more lead guitar work, or even some vocals, would be welcome during these stretches.

An album of simple jams. They all have roughly the same progression--which gets annoying after a few tracks. Forever Becoming is best on shuffle in small doses.

Just to be clear, this is no TFIOTWBTT. The majesty and atmosphere which graced the 2006 release is not here, there is no equivalent to the epic March into the Sea. What Forever Becoming is, however, is a solid release which shows that Pelican still possesses the ability to turn out good post metal in a rapidly stagnating scene.
