I have to say I did not listen to this in the best conditions (had to pause a lot) so
this is not super fair to them. The first half is more hardcore-heavy and reminiscent of
what these guys sound like live. Not mind-blowing but quite cool with good
instrumentations and vocals. The middle track 'The Abyss Looks Into Me' is brilliant and
I thought this was an excellent album closer. Except it actually carries on for nearly
another half hour of their doomier side, and I did not find it quite as good. Tracks 1-5
would have been a 4.0, but this is more like an overall 3.6

This is easily one of my favorites from 2013. A hellish mix of hardcore throat-ripping punk and hypnotic black metal/post-metal, it left me dazed and wanting more. The sludgy parts actually through me off a bit when I had picked up their debut a couple years previous, but (in my opinion) are the some of best parts of this album.
Saw them live recently: I can confirm that their lead singer, Caro, is fucking insane.

I just wasn't feeling this one. I think a crossover between hardcore and black metal can be promising, but the sludgy aspects of the album did not strike a chord with me.

Album absolutely slays. Caro's vocal performance on this is incredible. Possible AOTY for me. The Abyss Looks Back and Agartha are 2 of my favorite songs from this year

Do not pass this up. Eros|Anteros might just be the best hardcore album of the year. Every instrument is intense and the vocals are downright scary.
