0.0 | someguest | November 8th 13 | I can't believe I listened to what anyone had to say regarding this album here. The first thing of note is how everyone here seemed to pan "The Monster", which didn't even have one single cringe-worthy line and actually worked well. And when I say 'well' I mean way fucking better than the stuff he's already released as singles from the album - which happen to be the two worst songs on the entire thing. Next, he's fixed up his tone and dialed down the shouting which makes even the more cheesier lines easier to digest and enjoy. The album's a nice conclusion to the accumulation of fans, baggage, and lifestyle problems he's gathered throughout the years, and he plays homage to the music that inspired him to devote himself to the industry, the same way people drool over their goofy little favorite artists on a daily basis. If you're panning this album, you're missing the point, and if you're thinking it's the best hip-hop album of the year, you're missing the point too. But if you found yourself getting the feeling that it was still 2002 anywhere throughout the album, then give yourself a pat on the back and continue to enjoy this as it was intended.

0.0 | Keira | November 1st 13 | Shady's back, just to let himself be killed off. This album will be circlejerked over in both negative and positive ways, but Em takes everything people have been expecting, from the return of shady, sexism, homophobia, a sequel to MMLP, and even a sequel to Stan, and shoves them back in his fanbase's face. From Stan's brother killing himself and Eminem, apologizing to his mom and saying he loves her, and bashing his own celebrity bashing, Em creates an incredibly self-aware narrative that comes full circle back to the hate/anger driven MMLP.

0.0 | | October 29th 13 | The seventh track on the Slim Shady LP is "97 Bonnie and Clyde". The seventh track on the Marshall Mathers LP is "The Way I Am". The seventh track on this is "Asshole".

0.0 | Naomi Lores | February 10th 15 | An absolute trash album, I'm stumped as to why anyone could justify giving this a Grammy.r"If Artist a releases 3 good albums, then lays an egg on their newest, how many Grammys will they be awarded just for having been good in the past? Well, if you're Eminem, apparently you get 2."

3.3 great | Erwann S. STAFF | January 21st 21 | Calling this one what's your considered your masterpiece + Part 2 is the best way to significantly raise expectations. Eminem is not the same dude as he was thirteen years earlier, but he hasn't sounded this good since 2002, especially since the beats are real cool and appeal to many vintage aesthetics - Beastie Boys come to mind. The bangers are banging thanks to their rap rock antics ("Survival"), and there's "Rap God" which is beyond ridonkulous in how forced it seems, but the performance is nuthang but laudable. I've never been a huge fan of Em's choruses, and this feeling is confirmed throughout the record. He's at his best when he raps, not when he sings. Oh and ofc it's long, but its almost 80 minutes length flows quite smoothly.

0.0 | Jeffery J. Bigglestein | June 29th 20 | It's the best work that Enimem has made post-Encore (not saying much). I want to give this a 3 or a 3.5 but "Stronger than I was" is middle school talent show level cringe, and 80% of this album are tracks that are 5-7 minutes when they really don't need to be.

2.5 average | Alabaster Jones | December 7th 16 | While I'm partial to The Slim Shady LP, there really isn't any denying that The Marshall Mathers LP is objectively Eminem's best work. As such, The Marshall Mathers LP 2 writes a check it could never hope of cashing, and is predictably nowhere near the level of the original. That said, there are some pretty good moments here for Em. His technical ability is still second to none, and there's plenty of lyrical acrobatics to be found here. He also touches on a couple of topics that he's visited before (his mother, his ex-wife), but with an entirely different perspective on them. Still, though, without all of that flashiness, what you're left with is a bit uninteresting to say the least. The production is very hit or miss, especially in the albums latter half, and the hooks are more often than not subpar. He occasionally hits on everything, but the vast majority of the time there are (usually more than one) pieces missing. It's a hot mess that is rendered uninteresting by him having nothing new to say at all outside of those aforementioned topics. Technical ability and wordplay only go so far, and he used to know that.

4.0 excellent | sugarcubes | May 3rd 16 | I remember actually liking this album quite a bit. Should I try it out again? Eh, who knows. All I know is that this is really Eminem's last true grasp of relevancy before everyone stopped caring about him in 2014/2015

MMLP2 is the eight studio album from Eminem. On this album Eminem finds himself exercising his demons and standing amidst fire and ash that is analogous with heartbreak while telling vivid stories, name dropping 43 of hip hop's biggest figures, going off on his dad and ex-wife, apologizing to his mom and brother, reflecting on his past, dropping plenty of references, and spitting complex, twisted, disgusting, yet comical lyrics with a super fast flow over rock infused beats. This album also contains features from Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna, Sia, Skylar Grey, and Nate Ruess. I love the dark undertone Eminem delivered here and the meaningful subject matters he rapped about. While Eminem rapped his ass off on this album and his wordplay was absolutely amazing, he dropped so many cringeworthy, corny lines to the point where I wanted to bash my head into a wall. The production on this album is god awful. Which is a surprise because it contains samples from many iconic rock hits and many beats were produced by the legendary, Rick Rubin. Many of the beats on this album were either so generic to the point were you start to ponder if Em found the beat on Soundcloud from a teenage producer who makes beats using GarageBand and/or are so annoying to the point were your ears start to bleed. Not to mention, Em's choppy flow is unlistenable and his vocals are very irritating. But Eminem really showcases his creativity, complexity, and impressive technical abilities here. While this album is definitely overrated and disappointing, it's better than anything Eminem has released recently and I recommend the songs under my “Favorite Songs” category.

3.0 good | PrestonWCondra | January 4th 16 | This album was okay. Definitely better than Recovery. Recovery was boring as hell. My biggest complaint here is that some these songs dragged on WAYYYYY too long. Each song on the album (besides Parking Lot lol) is at the 4 minute length to 7 minutes long. As I said earlier it was okay. So Far was so good. ...But seriously I think you could of trimmed down some of the 7 minute long songs Shady.

4.0 excellent | InTheMorgue | January 19th 15 | its not as good as his early stuff but its much better than relapse or recovery, also he has superb flow on this album
Bump |
3.0 good | stuffedninja | July 14th 14 | It's a 78-minute grab bag of everything from party radio songs to serious tracks formed around Slim's perspective of his career in retrospect, trying to go back to Slim's roots and ultimately failing to make an LP that provided the same lines, rhymes, and crazy times as the original MMLP.
Bump |
3.5 great | brandiblitz142 | November 29th 13 | Yes. It is not the Marshall Mathers LP. It is not as intense as that one. Eminem is older now, away from the drug addict, hard life kind of person he was. As that album was a "biography" of himself back then, this is a "biography" of himself now, years later. His lyrics are more personal than last album, and aside from a few tracks I found the album enjoyable.
Bump |
3.5 great | Isaac George | November 28th 13 | Eminem's true comeback? You could say for the most of it as some of the tracks match up to his work from ten years ago. Yet, it doesn't compare to the original Marshal Mathers LP - instead it only has a stab at it.

0.0 | Jau Peacecraft | November 18th 13 | MMLP2 features some of Em's most experimental & exciting work since The Eminem Show & yet, the album ralso features some of his most mediocre work since Encore, sadly. rMMLP2 suffers from a post-Recovery hangover of pandering, Top 40 bait (Monster, So Far, Wicked World), rthat, if taken out of the equation, this would've been a very good sequel to a long time classic album.rEdit all of the crap out, & plug-in some of the gems off the bonus disc (Baby & Groundhod Day are highly rrecommended), and you've got the focused album that Em was meant to have. rHere's hoping he can manage to get better at self-editing while being sober; this album should've been the rproof of this, but it is yet another step in a promising direction for what could be his next classic album r(hopefully).
Bump |
3.5 great | Kronzo | November 11th 13 | Is MMLP2 the classic that hardcore fans have been begging for? Not quite. However, we have been graced with a slew of incredibly solid tracks that not a lot of people were expecting from the once washed-up emcee. It's unclear whether he'll even be releasing more material in the coming years. If MMLP2 is Em throwing in the towel, it would be a great note to end on.

3.5 great | Aids | November 6th 13 | It's the album I've always wanted him to make. Any alleged "trash" is easily outweighed by the gold many times over. Different strokes for different folks n sht but I dunno guys this album is my peanutbutternJAM rite now.
Bump |
2.5 average | amanwithahammer | November 6th 13 | This would be a solid LP if it weren't for the occasional really out of place sounding (and often quite bad) tracks that totally mess up the flow of the album. Take the deluxe edition of this record and remove the weird and crappy tracks and you'd have a good record, but as things stand we've got an album with a lot of quality tracks but too messy and disjointed to be a good record overall
Bump |

0.0 | VaxXi | November 1st 13 | Em's progressively gets worst release after release, immature verses and poor delivery arent the only issues with this album. The magic that was Eminem is gone in this album, in its place an album thats weak, boring, and terrible. I think its time the real slim shady sits back down.
