Heathen is a standout in Thou's stacked discography. Heavy and bleak, it's theme seems to address
the curse of civilization and it's poisonous effect on the human spirit. This album rages,
kicking and screaming until it's dying breath can be heard echoing off the cracked cement of our
self-constructed ruin.

68/100. It's cool. 75 minutes was definitely pushing it but I liked a lot of the tracks inhere, even if a lot of them kind of
blended together. I loved the sludgy guitars, thunderous drums, and raspy vocals--- overall a very solid album.

High 8 out of 10: A lot of people I know like to complain that this LP is too long for it's own good. It is quite the lengthy listen, yes, but I nonetheless believe this is Thou's strongest work yet. It's got everything that made them good in the past, easily distinguishable songs, and some intense emotion to spark it up a notch. I absolutely love this LP.

Some surprisingly well layered sludge bolster by a unique use of black metal-ish vocals paired alongside murky doom metal played at a crushing yet trudging snails pace. One of the best records of 2014 so far.
