My friends, "Jhazmyne's Lullaby" is undeniably the ultimate Metalcore record. More respected bands such as Botch and even Converge have released much more complex and larger masterpieces than this 7 Angels 7 Plagues album, but it is impressive the size base that this album gave to the genre. Everything is pure anger, discontent and a harsh feeling of hatred, but it closes with one of the most beautiful songs ever. It is difficult to comment on an album so influential that it deserved even a book for him to explain every second idealized.

"Our name is 7 Angels 7 Plagues, and we're going to re-define the sound of our genre" - or thereabouts, for a rough quote from the band. Sigh. No sooner than two or three years later from the date of said quote, 1999 or 2000, the band splits and leaves fans devastated. Really, guys? Gonna one-up Converge, are you, and then you fold? And what do you have to show for it, exactly? Oh, that's right: Jhazmyne's Lullaby. It's good, I'll give it that. Overrated, though, right? Yeah, yeah, sure. But it's solid: it's melodic, without being cheep; vocally competent, without being shrill or angst-y. But do you know what holds it back from sheer excellence, and beyond? Production. No worries, moshers - Converge are still metalcore's kings. Forever.

This album very much forms the bridge between hardcore and metalcore however do not let that phase you as this is possibly one of the most emotive albums you may ever listen to. It melds shredding riffs and hard, pounding drumming with beautiful acoustic pieces and the piano solo of Jhazmyne's Lullaby to create an experience that will batter and sooth you but always leave you with hope. This album should not be simply remembered as a groundbreaking moment in genre definition but as a powerful example of skill and passion that many lacklustre attempts (including Misery Signals) fail to live up to today.

This is fucking kickass. Dandelion is absolutely nuts. 7A7P helped revolutionize a genre that in all its years hasn't created much that hits as hard as this does. It's heavy, chaotic and raw as fuck. Obviously it has it's fair share of fluidity flaws and its a tad samey, but its still kickass and easily better than "Of Malice"

spawned the notorious misery signals! Aside from that the production was quite different than anything that has come out in the past decade, or EVER for that matter. A solid listen, justifies being into this whole thing for the longest time anyway....

This is a decent enough album. Think of a less developed version of Misery Signals with fewer "shimmery" guitar leads and you've got a pretty good idea of what this sounds like.
