This is Moonspell's best record in my opinion. I think it is an excellent record because it helped to shape a genre (Gothic Metal) it is certainly a reference when it comes to the sound that would develop in the years to follow. The atmosphere is perfect, the songs flow into each other in a very cohesive way, the vocals are improved, taking into account the previous record, the guitar work is great and all the elements blend together here perfectly.

This is probably the best work from this band, seemed like after their first two outings they started to lose steam and get stuck into a repetitive groove for a while. "Opium" and "Awake" are pretty catchy tracks, but all in all this isn't Doom Metal's finest act.
