3.3 great | Trey STAFF | August 26th 14 | There has been some discussion about how this album would sound in relation to the two previous releases. The general consensus has been that it will be closer to WIITB than SHTTS, because SHTTS was just something they had to get out of their systems -- well, they were technically right. 55% WIITB / 45% SHTTS; 100% awesome.

2.0 poor | RyanSmithers | September 26th 14 | Pretty disappointing, honestly. I've been a huge fan since '03 and I think SHTS is their best album. This is definitely more 90's influenced rock for sure. I don't hear really ANY SHTS influence in here at all apart from a very few, brief weird times. The last two songs are an absolute curveball and not a good one in my opinion (feel like they should be b-sides, especially the acoustic guitar one). Album starts out well, and seems to plateau after about the 4th or 5th song and then goes down hill for me. Nate's vocals are great, but the music is back to being very basic and un-technical like in WIITB but without the urgency and intensity. It's also not very creative from a sound or riff like in SHTS. If I hadn't already known Nate's unique sound, I would have NEVER guessed this is Finch from the music, nor would I give it a second chance if it wasn't Finch. I'll continue to listen to it for the sake of my love for Finch and hope it grows on me.

3.5 great | dietmonster | September 27th 14 | at first I was a little lost with the direction but after a few listens I really enjoy it and feel like its a welcomed addition to the Finch resume.

3.5 great | rafalafa | September 26th 14 | Strikes a great balance between their first two albums and sets the stage for a resurgence. I'll spin this for some time to come, but it just makes me even more excited for a few years from now if they release a follow-up.

4.0 excellent | vauxrock | September 24th 14 | played a little too safe, but overall still a solid comeback cd. Favorite track is "Further From The Few"

3.0 good | StrizzMatik | September 24th 14 | After a nine year break between albums, Finch returns with Back To Oblivion. The album
generally blends the darker melodies and maturity of SHTS with the simpler, more melodic
stylings of WIITB, but overall it sounds more like a natural evolution of what they were
going for on the s/t EP. If any criticism can be leveled towards it, I'd say it's a
little too safe in certain parts (Alex Pappas is a huge backward step from either Drew or
Marc on drums) and lacks the intensity and creativity of SHTS, but it's still a very solid,
well-crafted album.

3.0 good | catdragons | April 9th 19 | With all the quirky unexpected directions Finch took with their previous outings, I would never have guessed that they would play it safe their long-awaited third LP. rI guess....that is also kinda unexpected too, I guess?? But surely it wasn't a pleasant surprise. Still, Further From the Few is a great song.

1.0 awful | EasterInTheBatcave | January 22nd 16 | Underwhelming '90s-esque rock. Finch have played it safe with their comeback record, which is a huge mistake. Say Hello to Sunshine is finally beginning to be rightly appreciated, and a new record in that vein, or a similarly experimental one, would confirm the band as creative rock juggernauts. On here, Finch sound neutered, and worn out, like a subpar Deftones. It's not all bad-- I'm being overdramatic-- but it's very vanilla.

3.0 good | TheSupernatural | September 29th 14 | Just like in Elder Scrolls IV, Finch produces an Oblivion that seems edgy and chaotic, but becomes boring and repetitive before its end.

4.0 excellent | mawdicker411 | September 28th 14 | A Good album, if a bit repetitive at times. Does have its heavy moments, but I never got the feeling that I was listening to Finch. Nevertheless, it is a surprisingly solid alt rock album.

4.0 excellent | Teal | September 26th 14 | Basically, this is Finch taking on 90's alternative rock. It's a surprisingly fresh spin on their sound, but is it what the majority of Finch fans are expecting?

3.0 good | Victor Silveira | September 24th 14 | Not what I expected, but it's really cool. The 2 last songs are boring, but PICASSO TRIGGER RULEZZZZZ
